NUON™ Takes Center Stage at CES as VM Labs Makes Major Announcements
This year`s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas was a huge success for VM Labs and NUON, with significant announcements from partnerships to product shipments.
The biggest announcement is that NUON is the multi-media power behind the new broadband services from Blockbuster/Enron, Aliant and TransACT.
There was also the surprise announcement that 20th Century Fox will be the first studio to support NUON features on their movie titles, with Bedazzled, starring Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley, shipping in March, to be the first.
Other partner news included an agreement between VM Labs, and Oritron Power Mutimedia, Ltd. to deliver NUON™ enhanced DVD players into the key US and European markets throughout the year 2001 and beyond. Orient Power is a global supplier of consumer electronics and was the #1 selling DVD player in November.
Logitech, a major brand name in controllers, announced that they would begin development of products based on NUON Broadband and DVD technology from VM Labs, expecting to launch a game pad in the first quarter of this year.
In addition, Hasbro and Taito announced several new interactive titles including: MONOPOLY, THE GAME OF LIFE, BREAKOUT, and RC de GO! BUST-A-MOVE 4, and SPACE INVADERS 2001, respectively.
