[posting]33565132[/posting]Update on Dyesol’s Expansion
Queanbeyan, Australia …….11 March 2008
With requests for industrial quantities of its DSC materials currently exceeding forecasts, Dyesol
has accelerated expansion of its manufacturing capacity so that the needs of customers can be
met.
When it became apparent that the preferred new site for Dyesol’s manufacturing base in Hume
ACT was not going to be completed on time to meet Dyesol’s strict schedule, the decision was
taken to seek an alternative solution. The Company is pleased to report that new premises have
been leased in Queanbeyan, close to the current pilot plant and laboratories.
The new premises are currently being refurbished in preparation for the delivery of new, state-ofthe-
art manufacturing equipment, including a 250 litre reactor and other dye manufacturing
equipment, in May. The new facility will have the capacity to manufacture dye worth over $10
million per annum, enabling Dyesol to enhance the range and volume of titania pastes for
capacity of over 50kg/month, a significant increase on current capabilities.
Dyesol is a global business, and will be shipping to locations internationally from the Queanbeyan
plant. Major customers include G24i, the first company to announce mass manufacture of Dye
Solar Cell modules, and Corus, the 5th largest steel company in the world.

The Technology – DYE SOLAR CELLS
DSC technology can best be described as ‘artificial photosynthesis’ using an electrolyte, a layer of titania (a
pigment used in white paints and tooth paste) and ruthenium dye sandwiched between glass. Light striking the
dye excites electrons which are absorbed by the titania to become an electric current many times stronger than
that found in natural photosynthesis in plants. Compared to conventional silicon based photovoltaic technology,
Dyesol’s technology has lower cost and embodied energy in manufacture, it produces electricity more efficiently
even in low light conditions and can be directly incorporated into buildings by replacing conventional glass
panels rather than taking up roof or extra land area.
The Company – DYESOL Limited
Dyesol is located in Queanbeyan NSW (near Canberra) and in August 2005 was listed on the Australian Stock
Exchange (ASX Code ‘DYE”). Dyesol manufactures and supplies a range of Dye Solar Cell products
comprising equipment, chemicals, materials, components and related services to researchers and manufacturers
of DSC. The Company is playing a key role in taking this third generation solar technology out of the laboratory
and into the community.
