27.03.2008 09:46 AMG unit wins silicon supply deal from Q-Cells, may be extended until 2013 AMSTERDAM (Thomson Financial) - AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group NV (News) 's 50.5 pct owned unit Timminco Limited said that its unit Becancour Silicon Inc (BSI) has won a contract to supply solar grade silicon to Q-Cells AG. Under the terms of the agreement, BSI will supply Q-Cells with contractually fixed supplies of 410 metric tons in 2008 and 3,000 tons in 2009 at fixed prices, with deliveries to start immediately. With this contract Q-Cells will become BSI's largest customer for solar grade silicon in 2009. BSI said it and and Q-Cells could extend the contract to 6,000 tons per year for the period 2010-2013, which would raise the committed deliveries of BSI's solar grade silicon operationto 12,000 tons per year beginning in 2010.
