@hasu: Bush signs energy-related orders (by William L. Watts) President Bush, acting on his recently announced energy plan, signed two executive orders Friday aimed at speeding the building of new power plants and cutting down on regulatory barriers. One order requires federal agencies to expedite the permit process for new power plants nationwide. The second order requires federal agencies to conduct an energy impact review of all major, new regulations. Alternative energy stocks on a tear (SATC, BCON, HPOW, ESLR, GEG, PRTN) (by Michael Baron) The alternative energy stocks are rampaging higher midday action Friday. The group seems to be getting a boost from the strong response to Global Power Equipment`s initial public offering (see 10:10 am EST item). The deepening California energy crisis may also be a factor as well as comments for President Bush that were viewed as positive for alternative technolgoies. Beacon Power (BCON), a Wilmington, Mass., maker of flywheel energy storage systems, is up $1.95, or 47 percent, to $6.04. SatCon Technology (SCON), a partner of Beacon`s, is gaining $4.10, or 34.1 percent, to $16.10. Also pushing higher without specific news are H Power (HPOW), rising $2.44, or 18.7 percent, to $15.32; Evergreen Solar (ESLR), jumping $3.58, or 30.9 percent, to $14.60; and Proton Energy (PRTN), surging $2.35, or 20 percent, to $14.09. ich habe die meldung zwar schon woanders gepostet, aber dies dürfte die erklärung sein für den anstieg von power one. @besserweis, wie siehst du power-one denn heute? schönen gruss cabinda |
