OpenTV and Predictive Networks Partner to Manage and Deliver Targeted Advertising to Interactive Television Applications
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. & CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2001--OpenTV (Nasdaq:OPTV <http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=optv&d=t> - news </n/o/optv.html>; AEX:OPTV), the world`s leading interactive television (iTV) and media solutions company, and Predictive Networks, creator of anonymous, behavioral models of user preferences and affinities for iTV, today announced a partnership to empower network operators, content providers and advertisers to understand and reach individual TV viewers with unprecedented levels of precision, while adhering to strict user-privacy standards.
The partnership is expected to enable the management and delivery of highly targeted and personalized advertisements into interactive applications from OpenTV and its partners.
The partnership incorporates Predictive Networks` ad management and targeted ad delivery tools to OpenTV`s Service Platform Suite, an integrated software solution designed to provide operators with the ability to manage the operational and transactional demands of a full-featured, revenue-generating interactive TV service. Predictive Networks is also developing a set of APIs for application developers to ``advertising-enable`` their applications running on OpenTV`s Service Platform Suite.
OpenTV`s Service Platform Suite offers a turnkey solution for cable, satellite or digital terrestrial network operators that want to quickly launch an iTV service with a full range of applications. Operators can deploy these services across multiple operating systems, middleware and set-top box platforms.
