- BusinessWire

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jun 28, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Transmeta Corporation`s (Nasdaq:TMTA) Crusoe microprocessors are inside three of the four notebooks recognized by CNET in the Best of Show category at this year`s TECHXNY (formerly PC Expo), including the Best of Show award winner, the Fujitsu FMV-Biblo Loox T.

"Transmeta`s Crusoe microprocessor continues to spur innovative notebooks," said Jim Chapman, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing, Transmeta Corporation. "This recognition of our customers` designs by CNET further validates the ultralight market segment and the notebooks coming from Japan."

Along with the winning Fujitsu notebook, the three Best of Show award finalists selected by CNET were the Crusoe-based NEC Versa DayLite, the Crusoe-based Cassiopeia Fiva MPC-206VL and the Compaq Evo Notebook N200.

In selecting four ultralight notebooks, three of which are Crusoe-based, as the only products in the Best of Show category this year, CNET stated in part: "Overall, one of the biggest trends we saw on the show floor was the prevalence and maturity of ultralight notebooks. Once a niche product for a small audience, they are now coming into their own for mainstream road warriors."
