Oct. 19, 2010 (China Knowledge) - CLP Holdings Ltd<0002>, Hong Kong's biggest power producer, announced today that its revenue increased 15.6% year on year to HK$43.5 billion in the first three quarters of this year The company said in a statement that its electricity business in Hong Kong climbed 4.3% year on year to HK$21.94 billion in the first nine months. CLP Holdings saw energy business in Australia contribute revenue of HK$19.21 billion, 35.85% more than in the same period of last year. During the period from January to September, the power supplier sold 23,992 GWhs of electricity, 1.4% more than in the same period of 2009, boosted by a recovery in the economy and stronger demand. Power sales to the commercial sector, accounting for 40.4% of the total, edged up 1.7% year on year. |
