Grab samples by Scotgold Resources include 145.5 g/t and 134.5 g/t gold
Grab samples from very early stage exploration have provided Scotgold Resources (ASX: SGZ) with some promising results, from the River Vein Prospect in Scotland.
Significant grab sample highlight between veins 1m apart:
- 145.5 g/t gold and 28.5 g/t silver.
Other narrow quartz vein highlights include:
- 134.5 g/t gold, 31.8 g/t silver and 1.1% palladium; and
- 15.0 g/t gold and 7.7 g/t silver.
Chris Sangster, chief executive officer, said “although exploration in the area is still at an early stage, the results continue to highlight the potential of the River Vein Prospect to host high grade, narrow vein gold and silver deposits.”
The River Vein prospect is located in the Beinn Udlaidh area, 5kms northwest of the Cononish gold and silver deposit, and outside the boundaries of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park.
The company's immediate objective is to now map out the distribution of the high grade gold mineralisation, while determining the orientation of any possible extensions under the adjoining glacial till cover.
High water levels in the area are currently hampering exploration activities, with further sampling, including AQ drilling into the high grade outcrops, to be undertaken when the water level has eased.
