[posting]40957273[/posting]Aviva Corporation: Renewal of Special Licence No. 123 Friday , 14 Jan 2011 Aviva Corporation Ltd (ASX:AVA BSE:AVIVA) ("Aviva" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Acting Commissioner Mines and Geology Department, Republic of Kenya has granted a full three year, 100% renewal of Special Licence No.123 (SPL123) located in West Kenya. The West Kenya Project consists of two contiguous licences SPL213-Ndori and SPL123-Siaya, comprising a total area of approximately 2800km2. This latest renewal provides guaranteed security of tenure for SPL213-Ndori to at least July 2013 and for SPL123-Siaya to at least January 2014. Since signing the deal with Lonmin subsidiary, AfriOre International (Barbados) Ltd in July 2010, Aviva has achieved a number of key milestones which include but are not limited to: •registration of a Kenya entity - Aviva Mining Kenya Limited •establishment of a qualified and highly experienced in-country team •building relationships with relevant government, community, industry and interest groups •high resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey •high resolution VTEM survey •acquisition and interpretation of remote sensed satellite data •completion of Phase 1 regional geological mapping and tectonic synthesis •regional and prospect scale geochemical sampling programs •commencement of prospect scale geological mapping programs •commencement of diamond drilling at Bumbo base metal sulphide prospect http://www.mineweb.com/mineweb/view/mineweb/en/page674?oid=1… |
