GEDYS Internet Products AG, a software developer for successful e-business, is growing faster than expected. In the first six months of 2001, sales growth easily exceeded the planned 50 per cent growth rate. Turnover at 6.79 million euros was 63 per cent higher on a like- for-like basis (2000: 4.18 million). EBIT from business operations for the first six months was minus 4.43 million euros (2000: minus 4.13 million). However, in the third quarter earnings will already show a marked improvement due to the optimization of sales and marketing operations and a significant growth in the high-margin licensing business. Since the second half-year is traditionally stronger, the company which is listed on Germany`s Neuer Markt, expects to break even at the latest and as planned by the fourth quarter of 2001. Sales outside Germany at 3.27 million euros now account for 48 per cent of turnover (2000: 28 per cent).
