BMW und Telefónica testen schnelles mobiles Internet im Auto. Dabei sollen auf LTE-Basis Spitzenwerte von bis zu 70 MBit/s erreicht worden sein.

Die ersten Tests von LTE (Long Term Evolution) im Fahrzeug führten die BMW Group und Telefónica Germany im Stadtbereich München und in ländlicher Umgebung durch. Innerhalb Münchens wurden laut Unternehmensangaben Downloadspitzenwerte von bis zu 70 Megabit pro Sekunde sowie durchschnittliche Datenraten von 23 Megabit pro Sekunde erreicht. ...

Executives at flat-rate carrier MetroPCS (Nasdaq: PCS ) said the company has no immediate plans to sell tablets to its customers, but it might add the devices to its product portfolio in the future. T-Mobile Subscriber Base Could Be Under Attack as Deal with AT&T Looms

T-Mobile USA may possibly lose as much as three times as many subscribers in 2011 as the company did in 2010.

Bloomberg reports Friday the wireless company could lose roughly 1.2 million contracts this year as the U.S. Justice Department has stepped in to stop the acquisition of T-Mobile USA by AT&T (NYSE: T). The loss would put T-Mobile close to 33.5 million customers total and 25.2 million being contract subscribers. ...
