August 14, 2001 BMW SELECTS ATX TECHNOLOGIES TO PROVIDE TELEMATICS DALLAS, August 14, 2001 - ATX Technologies, Inc., the leading independent telematics service provider to the automotive industry, today announced it will provide integrated telematics services for BMW’s next generation in-vehicle communications platform. The launch of the newest version of the BMW telematics program is scheduled for model year 2003 vehicles sold in the United States. ATX telematics services will be standard on several model lines and will include such traditional safety and security offerings as automatic collision notification (ACN), and location-based roadside assistance and emergency response.. In addition, voice-activated real-time traffic and Internet access are under development. as well as other unique services that are not yet offered in the telematics market. |
