--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sale of approx. 1 million tickets planned in 2001 / increased CTS presence in
Southwest Germany with over 120 Tickets/S advance sale offices
Munich, 22 August 2001. CTS EVENTIM AG, a leading enterprise in the sale of
tickets for concerts, theatrical performances and sportive events and organiser
of live entertainment (Lieberberg, Rieger, Semmel Concerts, Scorpio, Argo),
is continuing to expand its position as a market leader in ticketing. The group
will already be taking over the Tickets/S Veranstaltungsservice GmbH in
Karlsruhe in the current quarter, i.e. on the condition that the supervisory
boards involved give their consent. As a regional ticket service, the company
has business relationships with more than 550 organisers from the most differing
branches (music, sport and culture) and is planning to sell around 1 million
tickets in the current business year. At present, over 120 advance sales offices
in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate are linked to the sales network
of Tickets/S.
With the acquisition of a 100% participation in the Tickets/S
Veranstaltungsservice GmbH, CTS will at the same time be acquiring the sole
rights to the use of the name, as well as trade marks under the name of
Tickets/S, and also an option for taking over a majority participation in the
Timo-Soft Software GmbH in Oberhausen that has developed a leading software
solution, especially for the sale of cinema entrance tickets through the
Internet. According to respective estimates in Germany, CTS has thereby
currently gained a market of approx. 150 million tickets annually, including
cinema ticketing - an excellent starting position.
The Tickets/S network based until now on the START software, "TicketSoft", is to
be converted to the modern CTS software, so that a nation-wide sales platform,
including the CTS sales channel Call Center and Internet, is available in future
to the operators linked in, and the Tickets/S advance sales offices can make
use in future of the entire CTS events content with approx. 50,000 events per
year. CTS had already successfully carried out a similar conversion in April
2001 with the Bremer TSC system, where "TicketSoft" was similarly replaced
completely by CTS`s own platform.
end of ad hoc announcement (c) DGAP 22.08.2001
Issuer`s information/explanatory remarks concerning this ad hoc announcement:
For further information please contact: Klaus-Peter Schulenberg
