The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<p>IPC ARCHTEC Group shows strong results in first half of 2001<p>Surplus for the period increased by 70.7% to DM 13.52 million (Euro 6.91 million) - EPS at DM 2.70 (Euro 1.38) - DVFA/SG EPS (adjusted) at DM 2.15 (Euro 1.10) - Sales increase of 27.4% to DM 319.80 million (Euro 163.50 Mio.) comparad to same period last year - Earnings before taxes (EBT) improved by 44.1% to DM 17.00 million (Euro 8.69 Mio.) - positive outlook -<p>Niederaichbach, 27.8.2001<p>IPC ARCHTEC AG, the marketing service provider listed on the Neuer Markt (Security Identification Code 525 280) again reported strong company growth with high yields in the final figures for sales and results in the first half of the current fiscal year.<p>Consolidated sales results climbed by 27.4% compared to the first half of 2000 from DM 251.00 million (Euro 128.33 million) to DM 319.8 million (Euro 163.5 million) which thus puts them within the framework of company expectations. The company was pleased with the continuing growth trend compared to the previous quarter with an increase of 11.0%. Earnings before taxes (EBT) improved by 44.1 % from DM 11.80 million (Euro 6.03 million) to DM 17.00 million (Euro 8.69 million). The period surplus improved disproportionately by 70.7 % from DM 7.92 million (Euro 4.05 million) to DM 13.52 million (Euro 6.92 million). Earnings thus exceeded the expectations of consensus estimates by analysts.<p>Profitable Strategy<p>Die IPC ARCHTEC Group is holding fast to its newly established strategy of exclusive marketing of margin-rich products. Through its clear-cut allocation of the PC Desktop business to the group subsidiaries, the IT service provider is laying the foundation for continuous growth of the margin-rich PC business for the second half of 2001. The IT service provider has already managed to sell more than 14,000 PC Desktops in the second quarter alone.<p>Expansion in Europe<p>The further internationalization of the marketing business is proving extremely successful. This is evidenced by the opening of additional markets, such as in France and Portugal, in the second quarter. The various cooperative efforts, such as with the HUMANEO Group, are proving to be the right strategy. Foreign sales meanwhile make up over 34% of total sales. Thus the IPC ARCHTEC Group has made substantial advances in its foreign sales, which now total over DM 108 million (Euro 55.20 million).<p>Future development met with optimism<p>The IPC ARCHTEC Group continues to be optimistic due to the extension of its product range with the flat monitor (TFT) and the significant expansion into France. A strong inflow of orders for the third quarter is further indication that a successful second half is in the making.
