Germa, auch Interventionen stoßen irgendwann an ihre Grenzen. Die Fed versucht schon seit Monaten, das Unheil abzuwenden, doch so recht klappen will es nicht. Wenn die Big Boys merken, daß die Maßnahmen nichts helfen, ist es aus. Und ich glaube, einige haben es schon bemerkt. Wieso sollten sonst so große Telekom-Aktienpakete auf den Markt geworfen werden?
For another view, we turn to a chart of the St. Louis Adjusted Monetary Base, a narrow aggregate including only cash plus bank reserves, an aggregate that the Federal Reserve directly controls. The lower panel graphs the adjusted base, while the upper panel graphs the 13 week (green) and year over year (red) growth rates.
The message of this chart is that the Fed is abundantly aware of what is happening to M-3 and is desperately trying to prevent catastrophy by injecting reserves through its open market desk. Note the steep slope of base growth over the past four months. We shall see if the rescue attempt works
