May 3, 2012 URANIUM REACTION Auszug: QUEENSLAND NOT REVISITING URANIUM MINING BAN The Natural Resources and Mines Minister of Queensland, Australia has stated that uranium is not among the new government’s mining priorities. Noting that there were other mining and energy issues as “being significantly higher priority than uranium mining”, Minister Andrew Cripps has apparently splashed water on the hopes of a quick removal of Queensland’s uranium mining ban. This serves as negative news for Summit Resources’ (SMM-ASX) Valhalla project, Laramide Resources’ (LAM-TSX) Westmoreland project, and Deep Yellow’s (DYL-ASX) Mount Isa project. All of which were hoping for a quick, positive change to the uranium policy in Queensland following the election of the Liberal National Party. However, this is a net positive for the industry as potential supply from Queensland remains locked in the ground. http://www.versantpartners.com/pdfFiles/20120503Uranium.pdf |
