The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<p>Softing AG Establishes a Subsidiary in the United States<p>Softing AG, a leading manufacturer of soft- and hardware for control and communication technology in the areas Automotive Electronics and Industrial Automation, founded its subsidiary Softing North America Inc. on August 29, 2001.<p>The office is located in Newburyport, 30 miles north of Boston, Massachusetts. Both sales and support engineers sent by Softing AG in Germany and American employees will be working there. Operational business will start at the beginning of September.<p>With approx, 30 billion US$ market volume, the American market for industrial automation is approximately as large as the European one, but has higher growth rates. With its local base in the US, Softing wants to focus on direct selling project business during the initial phase, till the end of 2002. In addition, the company plans to win additional trading partners for product selling.<p>During this phase, operating activities of Softing North America Inc. will be the sale and support of Softing`s communication products for the control of industrial plants.<p>Business in America, which was up to this point acquired exclusively by distributors, is to be transferred step by step to Softing`s subsidiary and expanded.
