Bolivian Government Mining Law enacted wait to bid 50 % of Mutún

    La Paz - Bolivia . - The Minister of Mining and Metallurgy , Mario Virreira , reported Wednesday that it will wait for the enactment of the new Mining Law to bid for 50% of mega Mutún iron deposit , previously held by India's Jindal Steel Bolivia (JSB ) .

    At a press conference , Virreira explained that the tender will be launched internationally and will be part of the provisions in the new Mining Law , which is expected by year-end issue .

    ' Actually , it is expected that tender until the end of the year, end of the year we want to get the new international tender , taking into account the central aspects of the Mining Law , we will do the bidding rules based on the new Law ' , said.

    He recalled that the site of Mutún has about 75 square kilometers, of which 50 % is in the hands of the Bolivian state and the rest was managed by the JSB Indian , who left the country in mid- 2012, after failing investment goals involved in the project .
