Ubiquity Solar Inc. has been in the business of creating, financing and managing technology and photovoltaic (PV) businesses since 1989. MacLellan Management Ltd. changed its name to Ubiquity Solar Inc. to reflect the shift to an operating company. The major businesses that the Company has co-founded, co-financed and co-managed have been Creation Venture Capital (VCC) Corporation, Creation Technologies Inc. and ARISE Technologies Corporation. The Company has also consulted to several solar companies including Solar Design, Advanced Energy Systems and others. Ubiquity Solar has been active in solar energy since February 1996 when Ian MacLellan started consulting to Solar Design and Advanced Energy Systems on the project to install the largest PV system in the world (at that time) of 360kW on the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta which included a 20kW BIPV micro-inverter system. Ubiquity Solar then founded ARISE Technologies in March 1997. Ian led ARISE as CEO until Feb. 2008 and continued as CTO until September 2011. He then retired from the Board in November 2011. Ian and an experienced team of more than twenty solar professionals has been developing the Ubiquity Solar strategy, technology roadmap, team and funding. Recently Ubiquity Solar has consulted to several companies on PV markets and technology. |
