Proton Power and Hermes Europe GmbH ("Hermes") have received an award from KEP for the most advanced innovation in logistic technology in 2014

Proton Power is pleased to announce that, together with Hermes, it has received the Innovation Award 2014 from KEP Magazine ("KEP") which is the official monthly newspaper of the German Logistics Industry.

The award was won in respect of a 7.5 ton electric powered light duty vehicle equipped with Proton's 8kW HyRange Fuel Cell system.

Hermes is currently testing the vehicle in normal delivery operation from its Hamburg based facilities. Hermes was also praised by KEP for the innovative approach using this new technology to provide emission free transport.

Proton Power designed and integrated the HyRange 8kW system in the vehicle.

Hermes Manager Bjoern Peterson accepted the award from KEP and commented: "We are pleased about this recognition from KEP for our commitment to provide day to day logistics with zero emission. It is a principle of Hermes to take a leading role in new technology and to do all we can in our daily work, to reduce emissions. We are very pleased with Proton's vehicle, which is performing as required and expected and we hope that we can use more of these vehicles in the near future."

John Wall, Chairman of Proton, said: "This award from KEP, which is the voice of the German Logistics Industry and the praise from Hermes, gives us great confidence. We are on the right track with our new HyRange product line. We are ready to provide similar solutions for electric powered vehicles to Hermes or other logistic players in Germany and the World. We have already received significant interest and enquiries".
