The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------<p>MANIA Technologie AG lower results due to restructuring costs<p>- Sales: Euro 88,6 mil - EBITDA: Euro -3,4 mil - Order backlog stabilized - Successful Fair Productronica<p>In the first nine months of the year 2001 MANIA Technologie AG achieved a turnover of Euro 88.5 mil. This was a drop of 24% compared with the same period the year before. EBITDA dropped from Euro 12.2 mil. to Euro -3.4 mil. The loss per share is Euro -1,16 (0,07). The figures were influenced on the one part by the world-wide economic slump and on the other by restructuring measures. Non- recurring restructuring costs influence the result negatively in the amount of Euro 5.8 mil. They consist of amortisation, value adjustments and consultancy costs. The costs of restructuring the Company will burden the results in the 4th quarter of 2001 and the 1st quarter of 2002. Compared with the same period a year earlier the market for interconnect carriers shrank by over 50% in the first nine months, particularly in the USA and Europe.<p>Due to the unsatisfactory market and profit situation an extensive programme was worked out in the summer and is now being implemented to improve profits long-term. These measures started to bear fruit in the 3rd quarter 2001. Personnel costs could be reduced in the 3rd quarter from 13.2 mil. by 27% to 10.4 mil.<p>Due to the economic situation orders in hand which had amounted to Euro 35.9 on 31.12.2000 dropped to Euro 17.9 mil. on 30.09.2001. However a stabilisation in the level of orders has been noticed. For example in comparison to 30.6.2001 the decrease was only 10% (30.6.2001 Euro 19.8 mil.).<p>In the beginning of November the most important fair for suppliers of the Interconnect Carrier industry took place in Munich (Productronica).
