La Plata The La Plata project is located about 100km west southwest of the capital city, Quito within the western Occidental of central Ecuador. The terrain is rugged, elevations range from 1,100m to 1,700m. The project covers 2,300 Ha in two concessions that lie immediately north of the Illiniza Ecological Reserve. TIM has an option to earn a 60% interest in the project over a four year period by making cash payments totaling US$2.0MM and spending $4.0MM on the property. The company can earn an additional 5% by completing a feasibility study and if the company arranges financing of up to US$60MM will earn an additional 5% or 10% if the financing exceeds $60MM. Production will be subject to government royalties only. La Plata is a gold-rich volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposit located in the hinge of an anticlinal structure with a core of dacitic rocks and overlain by intermediate to mafic volcanics. The lens has been defined by drilling along a 600m strike length, extends around 200m down dip. It is widest near the hinge of the fold structure averaging 5 to 6m in true width and tapers to depth down the limb of the structure Toachi generated a series of new, high-priority drill targets by reprocessing gravity geophysical data. Of significance is a 200m x 250m untested target 200m east of the La Mina open pit. In addition gravity highs extend to the north along strike of the drilling past the Guatuza zone (Figure 15). Gravity is an effective tool for exploration of massive sulphides due to the high density of the mineralized zones.
