CHICAGO (AP) _ Coeur Mining Inc. (CDE) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $2.9 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier. The Chicago-based company said it had profit of 2 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, were 1 cent per share. The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 5 cents per share. The silver mining company posted revenue of $170 million in the period. Coeur Mining shares have risen 7 percent since the beginning of the year.
