Es gibt übrigens Filme, die werden von den Kritikern zerissen, aber von den Leuten geliebt. Vielleicht gehört van Wilder dazu, da es eine Zielgruppe anspricht, die sich altersmäßig selten unter den Kinokritikern findet. Wenn man das Board auf Yahoo dazu liest, gibt es doch viele positive Stimmen. Hier mal eine: Just returned from a sneak preview of Van Wilder. Out of 5 stars, it rates a ten. Why? It would be an injustice to say it is just another link in the Nat Lampoon chain of movies. It would be incorrect to judge the movie by the promotional material that doesn`t really hit the spot. This movie has character development, unexpected twists, and a subtlety that is far more than the gut busting, breath catching humor. The movie and the actors help suspend disbelief, make you care about them, and bring new heights to gross out humor - zoophiles will wince. If you can take an oxygen supplement, do so. There are moments when you won`t be able to breathe from laughing too hard. Each time you think a stereotype is being exploited, the story twists around and bites you. The actors show us that superficial indifference is often based upon ignorance. And Van takes you places that will surprise. It`s not Animal House. It`s not PCU. It`s not Legally Blonde. It`s not There`s Something About Mary. But it may surpass them. It`s going to take word of mouth (and painful breathing) of the audience, to spread the word about VW. The trailers and media hype aren`t even close to what the movie is all about. It`s not a conflict of nerds/jocks, nor suits/slackers. It`s - well - something entirely different. Maybe it comes down to the simple truth that when you give generously of yourself, you may find that "it`s a wonderful life". And the out takes clearly show the editting skill, by omitting certain material that would have made the movie something different from what it ultimately becomes - a cult classic. Bravo to the whole team, writers, cast and crew! vielleicht wirds ja was. |
