Robert Mueller public hearing to be delayed one week

(CNN) - Robert Mueller's long-awaited testimony has been delayed a week, until July 24, to allow more time for Mueller to testify, House Democrats said in a statement late Friday.
House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler and House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff said in a joint statement that Mueller's public appearance had been pushed back at the former special counsel's request, and that Mueller had agreed to appear for an extended period.
"The House Judiciary Committee will convene on July 24 at 8:30am with Special Counsel Mueller testifying in public for three hours. After a brief break, the House Intelligence Committee will convene for additional public testimony beginning at 12:00pm," the chairmen said in a statement. "All members -- Democrats and Republicans -- of both committees will have a meaningful opportunity to question the Special Counsel in public, and the American people will finally have an opportunity to hear directly from Mr. Mueller about what his investigation uncovered."
But the committees are no longer expected to hear from two Mueller deputies -- Aaron Zebley and James Quarles -- on the same day, according to two sources familiar with the matter. Democrats had sought to question the deputies behind closed doors about the special counsel investigation.
Attorney General William Barr had expressed a desire this week that the deputies not testify, and the Justice Department was resisting their appearances.
The closed-door testimony of the deputies was a significant hang-up as negotiations dragged on Friday to delay Mueller's testimony, according to a source familiar with the discussions. The House Intelligence Committee in particular wanted to speak to the deputies in closed session so they could dive into classified, counterintelligence details of the investigation.

Während Epstein sich offenbar der Tragweite der Anschuldigungen gegen ihn noch nicht bewusst ist und dem Richter tatsächlich anbot, seine Gefängniszelle gerne gegen eine elektronische Fußfessel und gleichzeitig dem Komfort seiner 77 Millionen teuren Villa in Manhattan einzutauschen, um dort den Prozess gegen ihn abzuwarten, melden sich immer mehr Frauen, die angeben, von ihm als Minderjährige und Jugendliche sexuell missbraucht worden zu sein.
Seine Rechtsabteilung sieht das offenbar ähnlich und reichte am Donnerstag einen Antrag auf Freistellung vor dem Prozess ein, mit der Argumentation, dass Epstein seit seiner Verurteilung im Jahr 2008 eine „makellosen“ Akte haben würde.
Epstein wurde letzten Samstag am Flughafen von New Jersey verhaftet, als er mit seiner eigenen Maschine, aus Paris kommend, einreiste. Ihn erwarten 45 Jahre Gefängnis alleine durch die Anschuldigungen von drei Frauen, die behaupten, von ihm als Minderjährige missbraucht und an andere Männer weitergereicht worden zu sein.
Bei Jack Scarola, Anwalt aus Palm Beach, meldeten sich inzwischen mindestens fünf Frauen, die nicht Teil eines anderen Prozesses gegen Epstein gewesen sind, für den er bereits 2008 bereits wegen der gleichen Vergehen angeklagt war, aber einen milden Deal bekam, zumal viele Anklagepunkte fallen gelassen wurden.
Die englische Daily Mail spricht sogar von 14 Frauen, die sich inzwischen gemeldet haben sollen, um gegen Epstein auszusagen.
Vor der Bürgschafts-Anhörung letzten Montag hatte er angeboten, dem Gericht dieses Haus, sowie sein Flugzeug als Sicherheit zur Verfügung zu stellen. Dabei handelt es sich um das Anwesen, in dem er zwischen 2002 und 2005 Dutzende von Mädchen missbraucht haben soll.
Dort fanden Beamte des FBI bei einer Razzia „einen außergewöhnlichen Bestand an Fotos von nackten und teilweise nackten jungen Frauen und Mädchen“, als sie am vergangenen Wochenende in dieser Residenz eine Durchsuchung durchführten. ...

Denn der spätere Arbeitsminister unter Donald Trump war damals der beaufsichtigende Staatsanwalt für diesen Deal und der Täter war Jeffrey Epstein.
Das Weiße Haus nahm die Angelegenheit ernst und teilte bereits einen Tag später mit, dass es hierzu eine Untersuchung einleiten würde. Justizminister William Barr war zu diesem Zeitpunkt erst wenige Tage im Amt.
Jeffrey Epstein, der 2008 zu nur 18 Monaten Gefängnis verurteilt wurde und noch weitere Vergünstigungen erhielt, wie eine extra für ihn ausgebaute Wohnung, um nicht im Gefängnis übernachten zu müssen, sowie an sechs Tagen/Woche je 12 Stunden Ausgang, um seiner normalen Arbeit nachgehen zu können, wurde am 6. Juli 2019 für ähnliche Delikte erneut verhaftet und diesmal gibt es offenbar nur eine ganz normale Gefängniszelle für ihn. ...
