Today, the Trump Administration announced that as part of its ongoing work to tackle the epidemic of youth e-cigarette use, the FDA intends to finalize a compliance policy in the coming weeks that would prioritize the agency’s enforcement of the premarket authorization requirements for non-tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes, including mint and menthol, clearing the market of unauthorized, non-tobacco-flavored e-cigarette products. The FDA plans to share more on the specific details of the plan and its implementation soon.

E-Zigarettenverbot in den USA: Sorge um Bitcoin-Verbot durch Trump
Bitcoin (BTC) Befürworter machen sich erneut Gedanken darüber, ob die Vereinigten Staaten Kryptowährung verbieten werden. Grund dafür sind die Bemühungen der Gesetzgeber, aromatisierte E-Zigaretten zu verbieten.
E-Zigaretten: Washington "räumt den Markt auf"
Diese plötzlichen Beschränkungen, die sowohl das Weiße Haus als auch die Behörde für Nahrungs- und Arzneimittel am 12. September bestätigten, haben zur Folge, dass E-Zigaretten innerhalb eines Monats vom US-Markt verschwinden werden.
Hersteller können ihre Produkte in Zukunft möglicherweise zurückbringen, sofern Sicherheitstests nachweisen können, dass sie keinen Anstieg von Lungenerkrankungen verursachen. Dieser Aspekt hat diese Maßnahmen auch erst ausgelöst.
"Die Trump-Regierung macht deutlich, dass wir den Markt für aromatisierte E-Zigaretten aufräumen wollen, um dem zutiefst beunruhigenden, epidemischen Konsum von E-Zigaretten durch Jugendliche entgegenzuwirken. Dieser Trend wirkt sich auf Kinder, Familien, Schulen und Gemeinschaften aus", so der Gesundheits- und Sozialminister Alex Azar in einer Erklärung.
"Nichts unmöglich" für Trump
Auch wenn es sich nicht direkt um Kryptowährungen handelt, äußerten einige Leute aus der Branche dennoch Bedenken, dass solche exekutiven Befugnisse ebenso leicht auf Bitcoin ausgeweitet werden könnten.
"Diese Bereiche sind nicht miteinander verwandt, aber das zeigt, dass das Weiße Haus eine Anordnung erlassen kann, die alles mögliche verbietet. Und eine solche könnte sogar Bitcoin verbieten", so der Fundstrat Global Advisors-Mitbegründer Tom Lee in einem Kommentar.

Bitcoin-Handelsvolumen erreicht Rekordwert
Wie Cointelegraph zuvor berichtet hatte, gewinnt besonders Bitcoin (BTC) in Venezuela zunehmend an Bedeutung, da die venezolanische Landeswährung Bolivar von starker Inflation betroffen ist, wodurch sie immer mehr entwertet wird. Um sich vor dem Wertverfall zu schützen, flieht die heimische Bevölkerung wiederum in die Kryptomärkte.

Burundi bans cryptocurrency trading

The small central African state of Burundi has sought to ban cryptocurrency trading within its borders, in a move that goes against the general trend of the continent.
A government statement from the central bank reiterated its hardline stance on cryptocurrency trading this week. It read:
“The Bank of the Republic of Burundi reminds the general public that no entity or financial institution is currently authorized to offer remittance or other payment services using a virtual currency.”
The central bank advised its citizens to “exercise caution” when dealing with cryptocurrencies. They came to this decision apparently in an act of consumer protection. This is because:

China’s National Cryptocurrency Issues Direct Threat to Libra

China’s national cryptocurrency is going to be technically better than Facebook’s Libra, the projects new head Changchun Mu has claimed.
The People’s Bank of China (PBoC) has made big news in the industry as their national cryptocurrency for China comes ever closer, with various reports coming out about the implications and makeup of the project, which is being made in a secret location.
Mu, who used to be deputy director of the payments and settlement division at the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) has seen a rise in job status. Mu has taken over the digital currency project from Yao Qian and certainly has big plans and aspirations for the project.
Shanghai Securities News, a local Chinese news outlet has published Mu’s comments regarding the incoming token, with the leader giving more details about the project and pitting it against Facebook’s Libra.
In terms of the outlook for the project, Mu claimed: “Its functional attributes are exactly the same as paper money, but it is just a digital form.” Different reports on the currency have claimed it will not have the general characteristics of an atypical cryptocurrency. No blockchain technology and a centralized two-tier system.
This two-tier system means that local banks outside of the PBoC will have to buy the token from them and according to Mu, this will be at a 100% rate. Yet, users will be able to use the currency even without a bank account.
