According to interviews with people involved with the Shanghai plant, this is what likely is going to happen:
• “Small scale testing is to start in Q4 with meaningful production increases not expected until (and testing) Q1 and Q2 2020, with the goal of 2,000 units per week in June 2020.”
• “Due to the nature of semi-automation (including human fatigue, work breaks needed etc), this phase of factory ramp up at the GF3 has a maximum of ~2,000 units per week by mid of 2020, vs. ~5000 units per week in California. This contradicts what Elon Musk said on Q1 earnings call during Q&A. “
• “As the local labor cost is still lower than full automation,” the Shanghai factory will have LESS automation than the Fremont factory.
• “Due to the less stringent vehicle safety standards in China than in the US, GF3 will simplify the manufacturing process to further lower the costs. In other words, consumers who want American quality cars should still buy imported TSLA, not localized ones. Therefore, the announced ~328,000 RMB cash price for localized M3 is unrealistic, as it is even more expensive than the lower end of imported TSLA at 363,900 RMB.”

=> damit, also mit den Arbeitsplätzen in China, ist Tesla nun mMn ziemlich erpressbar geworden, und damit sind auch dort die Verluste mMn - in einem schwachen China-BEV-Markt - vorprogrammiert
