Liquidity Warning: Fed Shrinks Overnight Repos By $20BN, Term Repos By $10BN

With everyone (grudgingly or otherwise) now admitting that the Fed's repo and QE4 was responsible for the miraculous surge in stocks since the start of Q4 2019 (with the occasional exception of a handful of idiots), traders were especially focused on today's latest release of the next monthly schedule of repo operations to see if the Fed would, as Powell hinted before Congress, continue shrinking reducing the liquidity injection via repo. And sure enough, that's precisely what happened when the NY Fed announced that starting next week, the term repo, which this month dropped from a max of $35BN to $30BN, would be reduced by another $5 billion to $25 billion and that starting in March, term repos would be reduced by another $5 billion to just $20BN.

Trump hat den britischen Premier Johnson während eines Telefongesprächs verbal attackiert, weil dieser nicht von einer Kooperation mit dem chinesischen Technologie-Riesen Huawei ablassen will. Dabei gibt es eigentlich eine Lösung, um Huawei den Markt nach Europa zu versperren.

US Charges Huawei With Conspiracy to Steal Trade Secrets, Racketeering

Federal prosecutors have charged Chinese tech giant Huawei and several subsidiaries with conspiracy to steal trade secrets and violate anti-racketeering laws, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced on Feb. 13.
These charges are in addition to previous charges on Huawei relating to violations of U.S. sanctions on Iran in an existing indictment.
The latest charge of trade secrets theft relates to alleged “decades-long efforts” by the company and its U.S.- and China-based affiliates to misappropriate intellectual property (IP) from other companies—including six U.S. technology companies—and use it to grow Huawei’s own business, ...
