According to a source from mainland China, Sina.com has obtained the green light from the Ministry of the Information Industry to seek a listing in the US.
The official said the authority has sent the China Securities Regulatory Commission a written go-ahead regarding Sina`s proposed US listing. It is understood that Sina.com has agreed that its assets to be listed in the US will not include its ICP business in the mainland. As for Sina`s ICP operations in Taipei, Hong Kong and North America, they are not subject to the "intervention" of the mainland government, the official revealed.
