SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 2000-- Netergy Networks
(formerly known as 8x8; Nasdaq: EGHT) today announced that it has teamed with Exodus
Communications(TM), Inc. (Nasdaq: EXDS - news) to provide voice over IP (VoIP) points
of presence based on 8x8`s Netergy(TM) Advanced Telephony System (ATS) at Exodus®
Internet Data Centers (IDCs). The Netergy ATS allows local telephone companies to offer
hosted iPBX services to business customers. The Netergy ATS will be hosted in Exodus
IDCs, and 8x8 will leverage Exodus` network connectivity and managed services to enable
telephone companies to rapidly deploy VoIP dial tone in the local loop. Exodus is a leader in
complex Internet hosting and managed services. 8x8 is a leading provider of digital
telecommunication solutions.
Exodus has 19 state-of-the-art IDCs located in strategic major metropolitan areas around the
world. Exodus IDCs offer the physical environment, security, redundancy and Internet
connectivity necessary to deliver carrier-grade IP telephony services in a turnkey fashion.
Because Exodus` IDCs are located in the largest telephone markets in the U.S., they offer an
excellent platform from which competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs), the telephone
companies formed to compete with the Baby Bells, can offer VoIP services.

Dialink, a San Francisco Bay Area CLEC, will use the Netergy ATS to offer dedicated,
carrier-class PBX services over IP connections to hundreds of businesses from one of
Exodus` Santa Clara IDCs. With the deployment of the Netergy ATS, Dialink becomes the first
local telephone company to offer VoIP dial tone to businesses.
