"Klaus Burkert (RIP) did some cool hardware in the Picasso
boards. One of the best guys we had at Metabox. The Metabox "Phoenix"
(see it as the Metabox 1000) does all kinds of tricks with live video,
too."

"Some of the ideas in the "Phoenix" (called Metabox 1000 and 2000 in some marketing literature) came from that, some came from my years at Commodore and general system knowlege. Everyone loves this STB. In point of fact, it
hasn`t shipped. Metabox spent huge sums of money on things unrelated to the core business, which is responsible for the problems they`ve had. There are people lining up to buy the tech if the company does go under. I don`t think, if you actually had even an iota`s worth of a clue, you could find me at fault for anything but the STB. Which everyone wants."

"I have; or at least, between my VHDL, a Cypress CPLD, and a couple of standard buffer chips. Actually an ATA-3 level controller, that handles mode 0 and modes 2, 3 and 4. It`s in the set-top-box you can see here:

Zumindest schien Haynie davon auszugehen, dass die Phoenix existierte. Seine Postings machte er nachdem er Metabox verliess.
