Cubic Awarded $16 Million Maintenance Contract For Los Angeles Airport Parking Facilities; Contract is First in Industry to Offer a Lifetime Warranty

SAN DIEGO, Feb 24, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Cubic Transportation Systems Inc., a
subsidiary of San Diego-based Cubic Corp. (AMEX: CUB), has received a five-year,
$16 million service contract from the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) for
parking control systems maintenance.

Via this contract, LAWA is the first in the North American transit industry to
take advantage of Cubic`s unique lifetime warranty program.

Under Lifetime Warranty, Cubic will provide a variety of maintenance and
technical services for the computerized parking control systems at Los Angeles
International, Van Nuys Airport and Ontario International Airport public parking
facilities.

Cubic has been providing maintenance at the three airports since the late 1980s.
The company offered a lifetime warranty to help transportation operators manage
costs by extending the operational life of their existing systems while
continuing to deliver efficient fare collection and other services.

"We are pleased to provide this innovative program to our longstanding customer,
Los Angeles World Airports, and will make it available to new customers, as
well," said Nigel Bryant, senior vice president of Cubic`s customer services
worldwide. "By offering a fixed-price contract, we will help transportation
operators control maintenance costs, ensure equipment performance and
reliability, and protect against obsolescence for the life of the agreement."

Cubic`s contract will support all hardware and software requirements and
maintain aggressive levels of service performance to ensure the facilities at
each of the three airports will be operational around the clock 365 days a year.

"For years Cubic mainly has been providing parking control services as a
complement to the automatic fare collection system contracts we`ve had with mass
transit operators in the U.S. and abroad. Now we are expanding our service
offerings beyond that traditional market to all transportation parking facility
operators throughout the U.S., and including this unique lifetime warranty
program," said Richard Johnson, chief operating officer for Cubic Transportation
Systems.

The lifetime warranty agreement includes spares, labor, corrective and
preventive maintenance, depot repair, and significant additional features such
as assured equipment availability and asset refresh and enhancements.

Cubic Transportation Systems is the world`s largest provider of integrated
electronic ticketing and revenue management systems. Every year, nearly 10
billion rides are taken worldwide using Cubic-designed payment systems in more
than 40 major markets in cities on five continents, including London,
Washington, D.C., Hong Kong, Chicago, New York, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Atlanta,
