Okarma definitly said he is building this company into another Amgen. Minor related point... Okarma said if he licensed GRN163 now, Geron would get "pennies on the dollar". It is unnecessary to add anything to their discussion of the meeting`s technical content. He actually made a couple of remarks on the business side, however. Near the end of the meeting Okarma made a remark that reveals his plans for the company`s future. It was at the end of some remarks about timing additional financing such that we did better than `pennies on the dollar.` He said it was his intent to build a `large company (Amgen-like), not just a company that licenses its products to be marketed by others.` I`m realitivly positive that my quotes are accurate, at least as to substance and the Amgen reference, specifically. If so, I think it is quite encouraging for present investors. I once got a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant that impressed me. It said, `If you don`t know where you want to go you`re not likely to get there.` I view Okarma`s statement as saying that he really does have a plan for the company`s future and one that investors should applaud. So, now we know where the management thinks it wants to go. There is still (as it has been) the matter of getting there. |
