Company Overview...
SulphCo, Inc., headquartered in Sparks, Nevada, was founded by Dr. Rudolf Gunnerman to develop and commercialize its revolutionary technology, which uses high-powered ultrasound to significantly reduce sulfur content in crude oil while simultaneously increasing the amount of usable oil that can be refined from any given barrel of crude.

In 1998, Dr. Rudolf W. Gunnerman funded research at the University of Southern California for the removal of sulfur from oil using ultrasound technology. This project was led by Dr. Teh Fu Yen, a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Southern California to eliminate the high temperatures and high pressures and therefore high costs associated with traditional desulfurization technologies.
Through this research agreement, SulphCo, Inc. became the owner of the ultrasound technology. SulphCo has since conducted additional research and development to improve the process and make it commercially viable.
In August 2004 Sulphco entered into a Collaboration Agreement with ChevronTexaco Energy Technology Co., a unit of ChevronTexaco Corp., to further develop SulphCo, Inc.`s ultrasound technology. The ultimate goal is to optimize SulphCo`s technology and expedite widespread commercialization.
Intellectual Property...
To date, SulphCo, Inc. has been granted three U.S.A. patents, and multiple international patents to protect its core technologies. Current patent list includes:
U.S. patent no. 6,402,939, issued June 11, 2002 to Dr. Teh Fu Yen and assigned to SulphCo, Inc.
U.S. patent no. 6,500,219, issued December 31, 2002 to Dr. Rudolf W. Gunnerman, and assigned to SulphCo, Inc.

After studying mathematics and physics in Germany, he immigrated to the United States. Dr. Gunnerman has invented a series of successful technologies, including fireproof building materials and wood pellets. Thereafter, in his quest to reduce nitrous oxide, a major source of ozone depletion, Dr. Gunnerman invented A-55 Clean Fuels. Dr. Gunnerman holds three honorary doctorate degrees. Dr. Gunnerman`s credentials verify his business acumen and scientific skills.

Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Austin was Vice President, Finance & Administration of Desert Research Institute (DRI), where he served from June 2000 through the end of 2004. DRI was founded in 1959 as a stand-alone research-oriented component of the University and Community College System of Nevada and has been recognized as one of the world’s leading multi-disciplinary environmental research organizations. Prior thereto Mr. Austin held a number of financial and administrative positions, including Chief Operating Officer for Administration and Finance at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston from 1998 to 2000 and Assistant Vice President for Continuous Improvement for the Center from 1993 to 2000. Mr. Austin received a B.S. in Statistics from Brigham Young University in 1985 and an M.B.A. in Statistics/Operations Research and Finance from the University of Houston in 1989.

SulphCo Announces Timely Construction, Testing and
Shipping of SonocrackingTM Plant Components to Korea
SPARKS, Nev., August 2, 2005 – SulphCo, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: SLPH) announced today that it has completed construction and testing of its first 2,000 barrel/day Sonocracking plant. The plant components which are currently being shipped to Korea will be installed at the OIL-SC customer site in South Korea later this month.
The 2,000 barrel per day plant consists of several major components including stainless steel process tanks and piping, automatic valves and metering devices, dehydrating units, and control panels with touch screen PLC logic. The plant also contains the critical Sonocracking ultrasonic components and power supply.
The plant was designed by the SulphCo engineering staff and the various components were constructed by SulphCo as well as third party suppliers in both Germany and Taiwan. The plant was designed and constructed to meet the South Korean permitting codes which necessitated the inclusion of mandatory explosion proof design parameters.
According to the contract with OIL-SC, SulphCo has also delivered to the customer site in Korea sophisticated laboratory analytical equipment including an automated crude oil distillation system and a gas chromatograph along with other laboratory equipment.
The equipment testing included a combination of pressure testing and life-cycle testing according to internal SulphCo quality control procedures.
“We have passed a very important hurdle in this company’s growth from research and development to commercial operations,” said Peter Gunnerman, President and COO of SulphCo Inc. “Considering that these first unit components were designed by the SulphCo engineering staff in Sparks and built overseas on a timely basis and with a high degree of sophistication and quality is a significant milestone.”
The 2,000 barrel per day plant will be used by OIL-SC for technology demonstrations as part of OIL-SC’s marketing assistance to SulphCo for South Korean refiners and other potential customers in Asia.
