Mindoro Resources Ltd.: Pica 2 Intersects Significant Porphyry Copper-Gold Mineralization

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 21, 2005) - Mindoro Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:MIO - News; FWBLM) today announced preliminary results from the second drill hole on its Pica porphyry copper-gold prospect, Lobo Project, Batangas Province, the Philippines. In its upper sections, Pica 2 intersected significant porphyry copper-gold mineralization and alteration consistent with that found in the upper or outer margins of a porphyry deposit. Lower sections of the hole, near its current depth of 530 meters, and from which assays are awaited, may be in the main part of the porphyry system.

Between 22 and 235 meters, Pica 2 intersected 213 meters at a grade of 0.18% copper, 0.30 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 1.91 g/t silver. This includes 19.30 meters from 22 to 41.30 meters grading 0.12% copper, 0.74 g/t gold and 3.0 g/t silver, and from 82.80 to 123.65 meters, 40.90 meters at a grade of 0.24% copper, 0.99 g/t gold and 5.67 g/t silver. Assays below 358 meters are awaited.

" We are extremely pleased with these results," said Tony Climie P. Geol., president of Mindoro. " Pica represents a new porphyry copper-gold discovery, and we vectored into significant mineralization in just two drill holes. We will continue to drill-evaluate Pica with the objective of locating the highest grade parts of the system. Pica represents just the first drill test of at least 19 porphyry copper-gold targets defined by nine years of painstaking work on our Philippine projects."

Pica 2 is continuing at a current depth of approximately 530 meters. The geophysical and geological target area at Pica covers approximately 2 kilometers by 1.5 kilometers. A second large-capacity drill rig will be moved to the Batangas Projects in the near future to continue drill evaluation of Pica and other porphyry copper-gold targets that are currently being prioritized.

Thirteen samples from Pica 2 were submitted to an independent consulting petrologist for detailed geologic studies. Standard quality control procedures are applied in the assaying of all drill core samples. The accompanying table shows the drill results to date.

In summary, drill hole Pica 2 intersected typical argillic lithocap between 0 and 22 meters and then phyllic-altered volcanics to 197 meters, with multi-episodic porphyry-style quartz-magnetite-pyrite veinlets containing chalcopyrite and traces of bornite (both copper minerals). Between 197 and 250 meters, potassic-altered (secondary K-spar and biotite) volcanics with similar mineralized veinlets were intersected. Between 250 and 304 meters, phyllic-altered volcanics veined with quartz-magnetite and containing traces of chalcopyrite, were intersected.

Phyllic-altered quartz diorite stockworked with similar veinlets was intersected between 304 and 340 meters. A late mineralization, weakly altered (propylitic) diorite dyke, veined in places with quartz +/- magnetite and with rare inclusions of chalcopyrite, was intersected between 340 and 438 meters. Between 438 and 530 meters, potassic-altered quartz diorite was intersected with silicification, quartz-anhydrite-chalcopyrite veins and chalcopyrite and bornite disseminations, increasing with depth. Four younger, narrow epithermal veins with moderate gold grades are telescoped into the porphyry system.

The location of Pica 2 is shown on the Lobo Project compilation map accompanying this news release on Mindoro`s website. It is a vertical hole, approximately 150 meters west of Pica hole 1, which intersected the outer, or upper, weakly mineralized margins of a porphyry system. Pica 1 results were reported in a release dated June 22, 2005.

Phyllic-geändertes Quarzdiorite stockworked mit ähnlichen veinlets wurde geschnitten zwischen 304 und 340 Metern. Eine späte Mineralisierung, schwach geänderter (propylitic) ein dioritedamm, veined in den Plätzen mit Quarz +/- Magnetit und mit seltenen Einbeziehungen von Chalcopyrite, wurden zwischen 340 und 438 Metern geschnitten. Zwischen 438 und 530 Metern wurde potassic-geändertes Quarzdiorite mit silicification, Quarz-Anhydrit-Quartz-anhydrite-chalcopyriteadern und Chalcopyrite und den bornitedisseminations geschnitten und erhöhte sich mit Tiefe. Vier jünger, epithermische Adern der Enge mit gemäßigten Goldgraden werden in das Porphyrysystem ineinandergeschoben.

(TSXV: MIO; Frankfurt: OLM) gab heute die vorläufigen Ergebnisse des zweiten Bohrlochs ihres Porphyr-Kupfer-Gold-Zielgebiets in Pica, Projekt Lobo, Provinz Batangas, Philippinen, bekannt. In seinen oberen Abschnitten wurden in Pica 2 signifikante Porphyr-Kupfer-Gold-Mineralisierung und eine Alteration entdeckt, die mit der in den oberen und äußeren Rändern eines Porphyrvorkommens gefunden wurde. Die tiefer gelegenen Teile des Bohrlochs in seiner Nähe der derzeitigen Tiefe von 530 Metern, für die Untersuchungsergebnisse erwartet werden, könnten im Hauptteil des Porphyrsystems liegen.

Pica 2 wird in einer aktuellen Tiefe von ca. 530 Metern weiter geführt. Das geophysische und geologische Zielgebiet von Pica erstreckt sich auf ca. 2 x 1,5 km. Ein zweites kapazitätsstarkes Bohrgerät wird demnächst in die Batangas-Projekte verlegt werden, um die Probebohrungen in Pica und anderen Porphyr-Kupfer-Gold-Zielen, in denen derzeit Priorisierungen vorgenommen werden, fortzusetzen.

Dreizehn Proben aus Pica 2 wurden einem unabhängigen petrologischen Berater für detaillierte geologische Studien vorgelegt. Bei der Untersuchung aller Bohrkernproben werden Standard-Qualitätskontrollverfahren angewendet. Die nachstehende Tabelle zeigt die bisherigen Bohrergebnisse.

Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass das Bohrloch Pica 2 zwischen 0 und 22 Metern eine typische argillitische Gesteinskappe und danach eine vulkanische "phyllic"-Umwandlungszone mit multiepisodischen porphyrartigen Quarz-Magnetit-Pyrit-Äderchen aufweist, die Chalcopyrit und Spuren von Bornit (beides Kupfermineralien) enthalten. Zwischen 197 und 250 Metern wurde eine vulkanische Potassic-Umwandlung (sekundärer K-Spat und Biotit) mit ähnlichen mineralisierten Äderchen festgestellt. Zwischen 250 und 304 Metern wurde eine vulkanische Phyllic-Umwandlung entdeckt, die mit Quarz-Magnetit durchzogen ist und Spuren von Chalcopyrit enthält.

Eine Quartz-Diorit Phyllic-Umwandlung mit ähnlichen Äderchen wurde in einer Tiefe von 304 bis 340 Meter entdeckt. Eine späte Mineralisierung in Form eines schwach alterierten [propylitischen] Dioritgangs, an manchen Stellen von Quarz ± Magnetit durchzogen und mit seltenen Chalcopyriteinschlüssen wurde in einer Tiefe von 340 bis 438 Metern festgestellt. Zwischen 438 und 530 Metern wurde eine Quarz Diorit-Potassic-Umwandlung mit Silizifikation, Quarz-Anhydrit-Chalcopyrit-Adern und Chalcopyrit- und Borit-Einsprengungen gefunden, die mit der Tiefe zunahmen. In dem Porphyrsystem verlaufen vier jüngere, schmale epithermale Adern mit moderatem Goldgehalt.

Es handelt sich um ein vertikales Loch ca. 150 Meter westlich des Pica-Lochs 1, in dem die äußeren oder oberen schwach mineralisierten Ränder eines Porphyrsystems festgestellt wurden. Die Ergebnisse Pica 1 wurden in einer Pressemitteilung vom 22. Juni 2005 bekannt gegeben.

Hier ist nochmal vom Internetradio der deutsche Bericht von Joachim Brunner.... ist sehr Interessant. Im Norden von Mindernau 26000 Hectar und auf der Hauptinsel nochmal so viel. Enorme größe für einen Explorer. Es werden schon Straßen gebaut und Bohrungen vorgenommen. Kerbnbohrungen werden vor Ort und in Labors Analysiert. Es gibt eine menge Goldwäscher in der Gegend ca jede 2. Familie. Hier wird auch gesagt das wenige Meter unter der Erde schonn überdurchschnittliche Menge vererztes Gestein liegen und die Landbevölkerung mit relativ geringen Aufwand das Gold in 10-15m tiefen Stollen schürft und auswäscht. Hierbei wird nochmal betont wie potent das Gebiet doch ist und das Bohrungen da sehr Aussichtsreich sind. 19 Porforis ist eine ganze Menge wird betont, das sind Riesenlagerstätten mit bis zu 400-500MIO Tonnen Gestein. Hochgerechnet sind das wohl locker über 4 – 8 MRD § von denen da gesprochen wird.

Ein zweiter und dritter Porfori soll in nächter Zeit bestätigt werden. Ein Bruttowert für eine Übernahme wäre bei 2€ pro Share.

Die Ergebnisse der Kernbohrung kommt in den nächsten 2-4 Wochen oder auch eher. Sie sind dabei parralel zu bohren um den Wert des Unternehmens enorm zu steigern. Hier wird auch nochmal betont das dann das Unternehmen ein super Übernahmekanidat wäre. Wenn alles klappt könnte es auch sein das die Firma mit den Nickelprojekt in 8-12Monaten in Produktion geht.

Aussicht:

Die Taktrate der News werden sich beschleunigen da dem Unternehmen mehr Geld zur Verfügung steht, für Bohrungen oder ähnliches. Wäre Interessant ob schon ein Bigplayer mit dabei ist. Weil auf einmal soviel geld da ist.
Besonders in hinsicht auf die News und Daten der Kernbohrungen wird schon Vorrausschauent gesagt das der Kurs dann nicht mehr bei 51 Cent seht sondern um einiges höher.

Es wird von einer Kursexplosion gesprochen!!

Mindoro Resources Ltd.: Strong Porphyry-Related Mineralization Located in Outcrop

EDMONTON, ALBERTA, Nov 2, 2005 (CCNMatthews via COMTEX) --
Mindoro Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:MIO)(FRANKFURT:OLM) today announced the discovery of significant porphyry copper-gold related mineralization and alteration in surface outcrops on the Tapian San Francisco Project (TSF), Mindanao Island, the Philippines.

Outcrops of phyllic-altered intrusives, 600 meters apart, with porphyry-style disseminated and vein mineralization grading in the order of one percent copper over sample lengths of 15 meters and 25 meters, were found in the vicinity of two extensive geophysical anomalies.

"These finds are suggestive of a robust porphyry copper-gold system and indicate proximity to the main part of the porphyry system," said Tony Climie, P. Geol., president of Mindoro. "This should greatly assist in drill-hole vectoring. As operator, we have strongly recommended to our joint venture partners that we rapidly advance TSF to the drill stage".

An August 5, 2005 news release described results to date on the TSF Project, located about eight kilometers from the Boyongan and Bayogo porphyry copper-gold deposits of Anglo-Philex Gold, in a similar structural setting. A cluster of seven geophysical anomalies was defined at TSF over the past year by Induced Polarization (IP) surveys.

Recent prospecting was focused in proximity to two of these anomalies: the C5 and C6 targets. Both are reflected by extensive IP chargeability anomalies with capping resistivity anomalies and exhibit a classic Philippine porphyry expression. These are coincident with porphyry-related rock alteration and copper, gold and zinc in-soil geochemical anomalies. High-grade copper-gold-silver mineralized vein-breccia diorite boulders (to 22.9 percent copper) are associated with C5 and are interpreted as distal "leakage" from porphyry copper-gold mineralization.

The latest prospecting and geological work has located several strongly copper-mineralized outcrops in headwater creeks between the C5 and C6 anomalies over a strike length, to date, of 600 meters. The outcrops were located in high terrain with heavy jungle cover, suggesting the potential to locate more such outcrops is high.. The location of the mineralized outcrops and main features of TSF are shown in a map accompanying this release on Mindoro`s website.

A channel sample of the most northern outcrop gave an average grade of 1.01 percent copper, 0.55 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 19.02 g/t silver over 25 meters. An independent petrographic report confirmed the outcrop is strongly fractured and quartz-veined (sericite-clay-calcite (phyllic) altered quartz monzonite). Quartz-magnetite-pyrite-chalcopyrite (a copper mineral) mineralization occurs as disseminations and as veining. A channel 10 meters northeast of this assayed 0.14 percent copper, 0.4 g/t gold and 1.1 g/t silver over two meters; while an outcrop 75 meters to the southeast assayed 0.10 percent copper and 0.03 g/t gold over five meters.

Several outcrops of strongly silicified quartz diorite porphyry, with high-density quartz-pyrite-chalcopyrite veining, were located and sampled approximately 600 meters to the south and on geological trend. Results have been received from one of these outcrops, where a channel sample over 15 meters assayed 1.09 percent copper, 0.08 g/t gold and 13.03 g/t silver. Petrographic analysis conducted on a sample confirmed intense quartz-sericite-chlorite-pyrite (phyllic) alteration.

The TSF Project is one of Mindoro`s Surigao Joint Venture Projects, along with the Tapian Main, Agata and Mat-I Projects. Mindoro holds a 75 percent interest in all Projects except Mat-I, where it holds a ten percent interest but can earn up to a 75 percent interest. Minimax Mineral Exploration Corp., a private Philippine company, holds the remaining interest. A Canadian company, Panoro Minerals Ltd., may earn a 40 percent interest in the Projects by funding $2 million in exploration expenditures.

The Surigao Joint Venture has one of the largest land holdings in the Surigao Gold District where several significant porphyry copper-gold discoveries have been made in recent years. A map of the Surigao Gold District is available on Mindoro`s website.

Work is carried out under the supervision of Tony Climie, P. Geol., who is a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Mindoro Resources Ltd.: Drilling Commences at Agata; New Porphyry Copper-Gold Prospect Discovered on Surigao Projects

Mindoro Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:MIO)(FWB:OLM) today announced that drilling has commenced on the Agata North copper-gold porphyry prospect on Mindoro`s Agata Project in the Philippines. Mindoro also announced the discovery of a new porphyry copper-gold prospect on its Tapian Main Project. Both Agata and Tapian Main are part of Mindoro`s large Surigao District land package, located in northern Mindanao, the Philippines.

AGATA DRILLING UNDERWAY

Mindoro is pleased to report that drilling is underway on the Agata North prospect, the first of several porphyry copper-gold prospects to be drill-tested on the Agata Project, Surigao District. As reported on September 29, 2005, strong and extensive chargeability anomalies were defined earlier this year by an induced polarization survey, with correlating copper-zinc-gold-in-soil anomalies, extensive rock alteration and fracturing, and several copper showings. The stacked anomalies are consistent with a porphyry copper-gold system at depth. A summary compilation map of the Agata Project is available in the Surigao Maps section of Mindoro`s website.

BOLOBOLO PROSPECT

Mindoro is also pleased to report that strong and extensive propylitic, argillic, phyllic and calc-silicate alteration, characteristic of the alteration halos of a porphyry copper-gold system, have been located over an extensive area at Bolobolo, as well as three widely-separated float boulders assaying in the range of one percent copper.

"These finds are strongly suggestive of a porphyry copper-gold system in the Bolobolo area," said Tony Climie, P. Geol., president of Mindoro. "While we have defined at least eight porphyry copper-gold prospects on our original Surigao Projects, we have only just commenced due diligence reconnaissance of our new application tenements, where we expect to find even more porphyry prospects."

Mindoro has been active in the Surigao District since 1997 on its Agata, Tapian Main, Tapian San Francisco and Mat-I projects. Immediately after announcement of the major Boyongan porphyry discovery by the Anglo-American / Philex Gold Joint venture in 2000, Mindoro applied for exploration permits for an additional 16,000 hectares of exploration tenements. These applications were accepted by the Mines and Geoscience Bureau of the Philippines and are progressing normally towards approval. The Bolobolo prospect is located in one of these application areas, which now forms part of the Tapian Main Project and is shown on the Surigao Compilation map accompanying this release on Mindoro`s website.

Porphyry deposits in the Surigao District are controlled by the intersection of northeast-trending faults with north-northwest trending splays of the major Philippine Fault system. Due diligence work by Mindoro defined, amongst many other structural targets, one such structural intersection set in the Bolobolo area. A small ground reconnaissance program was carried out in the area to determine its potential significance. Altered and mineralized float boulders and outcrop were located over a wide area at Bolobolo. Samples were submitted to an independent consulting petrologist for study.

Within the structural target, widespread propylitic alteration, characteristically the outer halo of a porphyry system, was defined in volcanics. Within this propylitic halo, outcrops and boulders of intense argillic, phyllic and calc-silicate alteration were located. Phyllic alteration (quartz-sericite-pyrite), which is characteristically proximal to the main mineralized core of porphyry systems, is intense, structurally controlled, and can be traced over three kilometers and observed up to 200 meters wide.

A mineralized float boulder of calc-silicate located in a stream, contains abundant disseminations of the copper minerals chalcopyrite and bornite, as well as high-density quartz-bornite-magnetite veinlets. A representative grab sample assayed 1.344 percent copper, 17.1 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 0.01 g/t gold. A float boulder of similar alteration and mineralization found in a stream, approximately 1.6 kilometers to the south, assayed 0.96 per cent copper, 4.9 g/t silver and 0.06 g/t gold. Calc-silicate mineralization characteristically occurs in limestone near Philippine porphyry copper-gold deposits. In a third stream, approximately 3 kilometers to the northeast, a boulder of silicified limestone assaying 1.92 percent copper was also found.

As operator, Mindoro has recommended to its joint venture partners that detailed evaluations be carried out at Bolobolo once the Exploration Permit has been granted.

Mindoro holds a 75 percent interest in all the Surigao Joint Venture Projects except Mat-I, where it holds a ten percent interest but can earn up to a 75 percent interest. A private Philippine company holds the remaining interest. A Canadian company, Panoro Minerals Ltd., may earn a 40 percent interest in the Projects through phased exploration expenditures.

Filipino investors to buy "substantial gold mine" on Isla de Margarita?

VHeadline.com mining & resources correspondent David Coleman writes: In a curious press release reaching VHeadline.com from the Mindenao Gold Mining in Manila, the Filipino company claims that its "major shareholders" and "a private investment group" are currently negotiating the acquisition of a substantial gold property in Venezuela.

The release describes the mining property as the Grand Pacaraima said to be "located in southern Venezuela near the borders of Brazil and Guyana" (incorrectly stated as Guiana) ... allegedly "a concession was granted in 1981 for 40 years" and 3.5 x 3 kilometers (approximately 4 square miles).

"Reserves have been estimated at US$580 million based on 80.86 g/t or 2.6 oz/t. Concession, exploration and development agreements have already been executed on the principal mine. There are five different strike zones that have been sampled on the elevated volcanic igneous property plus three other potential mining sites nearby."

With remarkable ignorance of Venezuelan geography the press release continues that "development of the mining property located in the State of Nueva Esparta will be commenced with a core sampling analysis." Adding that "one of Latin America`s leading finance companies specializing in mining development is expected to participate in the development program."



"Based upon completion of the transaction Mindenao Gold Mining would propose a name change and discontinue any future development program in the Philippines."

Company Nets $ 828,166 from Exercise of Warrants
