Colombia Goldfields Nachbar ist Anglogold, die kürzlich verkündet haben , dass sie über 50 mio Dollar in den nächsten Jahren im Marmato Mining District für Exploration ausgeben werden.
Kolumbien ist einer der Lieblingsspielplätze der Big Boys, da sie noch nicht erschlossene riesige Goldvorkommen
dort vermuten.

Recently, some of the world`s top mining companies have moved into countries such as Colombia, Chiina and Russia which have suffered from a lack of financial and technical development. They realize that with the added uncertainty associated with some of these countries, favorable deals on highly-prospective projects can be negotiated which would command significantly more capital if located elsewhere.
In Colombia for instance, Anglo Gold has recently announced the purchase of two projects for US$3.5 million and further announced plans to spend US$50 million over the next few years to develop the deposits.
In fact, Colombia Goldfields has acquired an option on three advanced projects located in the heart of one of Colombia`s richest mining regions - the Marmato Mountain Mining District. The company can earn a 100% interest in the projects, known as the Caramanta concessions, by spending US$3 million over a three year period. Aproximately US$9 million has been spent on exploration of the properties by a previous operator. Colombia Goldfields has pre-paid the entire first year exploration program by advancing their experienced team of Colombian based geologists US$500,000. The initial work program consisting of detailed mapping, geochemical stream sampling, rock sampling and a diamond drill program has commenced.
Colombia is stabilizing rapidly under the leadership of President Alvaro Uribe and his commitment to reforms aimed at encouraging foreign investment in the mining sector while reducing the state`s role as a producer of minerals. Colombia surely promises to shine as a world-class producer of gold. "
