Tripath Powers Panasonic`s New High Power In-Dash Car Audio Head Units
Friday January 6, 6:05 am ET
TCD6001 and TPS4100A Are Featured in 3rd Generation of High-Power Head Units

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2006--Tripath Technology Inc. (OTCBB:TRPH - News), creators of Class-T® Digital Audio Amplifiers, announced today that its TAA4100A and other products will power Panasonic`s 3rd generation of high-power automotive in-dash head-units. The new lineup will include 5 models, the CQ-C8803NC, CQ-C8803UC, CQ-C8803WC, CQ-C7703NL, and CQ-C7703WL, that feature high power Class-T outputs.
Two years ago, Panasonic released the CQ-C9800U, which was the first 70 watt, 4-channel car audio head unit; setting a new power record in the industry as it doubled the output power of the nearest competitor. The added power in these head units eliminates the need for consumers to install an external power amplifier when upgrading their car stereos.

Tripath`s digital amplifier solutions include both analog and digital input versions. The TAA4100A is a fully-integrated analog-input solution for automotive head units. The TDC6001 is a digital-interface Class-T controller that can be connected to the TPS4100A power stage to provide 4 channels of high power output. Both power stages can produce 100 watt square wave per channel, into 4 ohms. The combination of Tripath`s controller and power stage results in a compact, efficient, cost effective and extremely powerful combination.

"The Tripath solution allows our head units to provide much more power than many external amplifiers, giving our customers great sound and added value," said Ariyasu Amada, a Manager for Panasonic`s Automotive Systems Group.

Because of their high efficiency, Tripath`s Class-T digital amplifiers can provide more than twice the normal power from a head unit. The TDA4100 produces only 1/8 the heat of a traditional Class-A/B amplifier under normal operating conditions. Class-T also preserves signal fidelity significantly better than other commercially available switching amplifiers, allowing it to be used for full-bandwidth applications like Panasonic`s head units.

Tripath Turns Up the Volume on Subwoofers and Powered Speakers With New Class-T Amplifier Driver
Friday January 6, 2:00 pm ET
Tripath`s New TDA1800 Offers High Power and High Fidelity for Single-Channel Applications

LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 6, 2006--Tripath Technology Inc. (OTCBB:TRPH - News), creators of Class-T® Advanced 1-bit Digital Amplifiers, today introduced the TDA1800 amplifier driver. The TDA1800 provides a single channel of high-quality, high-efficiency, full-range audio up to 800 watts. The TDA1800 is specifically targeted for high-power monaural applications such as home theater subwoofers, aftermarket automotive amplifiers and professional powered speakers.

Similar to the TDA1400 introduced in October, The TDA1800 uses Class-T technology to deliver audiophile quality from low-cost field-effect transistors (FETs), resulting in distortion of less then 0.005 percent and lower system costs. It is a full-range amplifier offering excellent quality over the entire audio range. The TDA1800 is ideal for automotive amplifiers because its high current output can support 2-ohm applications. It is also an ideal product for professional powered speakers and monitors.

The TDA1800 compliments the TDA1400 in several new key markets for Tripath. Both parts offer the most cost effective solution over a wide power range, with the TDA1800 offering a very cost effective solution from 800 down to 400 watts, and the less expensive TDA1400 for applications 400 watts or less.

The cost advantage provided by Class-T is a great fit for the home theater and automotive markets, while the audiophile quality is advantageous in the powered speaker market. The high power and 2-ohm capability of the TDA1800 make it ideal for automotive subwoofers. The Consumer Electronics Association estimates that over 2 million automotive amplifiers will be shipped this year in the U.S. alone.

The TDA1800 features the same industry leading efficiency of 90 percent, compared with the typical 85 percent from other high-efficiency solutions. Higher efficiency translates to lower cost because a smaller heat sink and power supply may be used. The higher output-power of the TDA1800 makes this difference even more noticeable than lower power applications, further lowering the cost of implementation. The solution is also easily scalable. By changing the power supply voltage and choice of output FETs, the power can be tailored from 800 watts down to 100 watts without changing the application circuit.

Complete reference designs are available for the TDA1800 with dual supply and single supply options. The solutions are intended to be low cost and compact designs that can be quickly moved into production units. Class-T technology allows the amplifier to operate from standard, low-cost linear or switching supplies, yielding the best bang for the buck in the industry.

The TDA1800 is available in a 36 pin PSOP package, and retails for $4.50 in quantities of 1000. The reference design is available from Tripath`s website with schematics, layout, and component lists for quick and easy implementation. An evaluation board is also available through Tripath`s distributors. For more information visit www.tripath.com

Certain statements in this release concerning Tripath`s leadership position in the digital amplifier market, when and if Tripath will launch new products, including implementation, pricing and designs for the TDA1800 and TDA1400, and the benefits from Tripath`s products contain forward-looking statements that involve a number of risks and uncertainties. Actual results could differ materially. The risks and uncertainties include many factors, such as silicon wafer pricing and the availability of foundry and assembly capacity and raw materials, availability and pricing of competing products and technologies that would affect sales and pricing of our products. We may experience fluctuations in the manufacturing yields of our third-party semiconductor foundries and other problems or delays in the fabrication, assembly, testing or delivery of our products. We may not be able to specify, develop or acquire, complete, introduce, market and transition to volume production new products and technologies in a timely manner. Further information regarding these and other risks and uncertainties is included in the Company`s United States Securities and Exchange Commission filings, particularly our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended September 30, 2005 filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on December 15, 2005 as amended.

Tripath First Quarter Fiscal 2006 Revenue Expected to Be $3.0 Million to $3.1 Million; Reiterates Fiscal Second Quarter 2006 Revenue Guidance of $3.5 Million to $3.7 Million
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2006--Tripath Technology Inc. (OTCBB:TRPH), creators of Class-T(R) 1-bit digital audio amplifiers with Digital Power Processing (DPP(R)), today announced it expects revenue to be in the range of $3.0 million to $3.1 million for the first fiscal quarter of 2006 ended December 31, 2005. In addition, the company reiterated its previous revenue guidance of $3.5 million to $3.7 million for its second fiscal quarter of 2006 ending March 31, 2006.

"Our revenue performance during the December quarter was consistent with our earlier expectations as supply constraints experienced early in the quarter were decreased," said Dr. Adya S. Tripathi, president and chief executive officer of Tripath. "We remain confident in the future of Tripath, and we are building on our strong intellectual property position with deliveries of key products and a continued focus on driving fundamental results."

"Tripath continues to move forward in product development and introductions. We completed a very successful showing at International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas last week. During CES, we introduced the TAA2009, Tripath`s first Trivici-based amplifier for flat panel TVs; announced the TCD6001 and TPS4100A that are powering multiple Panasonic`s in-dash car audio head units; and introduced the TDA1800, our new Class-T Amplifier Driver," added Tripathi.

Tripath expects to announce final results and hold an investor conference call for its fiscal first quarter in the next few weeks, and the company plans to make an announcement of the date and call in advance.
