Scorpio`s Drill Results Continue to Enhance Resource Development at Nuestra Senora, including 596.98 g/t Ag, 16.67% Zn, 4.06% Cu and 3.23% Pb over 5.90 metres

VANCOUVER, Jan. 9 /CNW/ - Scorpio Mining (TSXV:SPM) is pleased to announce additional assay results from underground drilling on the Nuestra Senora deposit located in Sinaloa State, Mexico (Table 1). The latest results from nine drill holes continue to expand the size of the deposit both laterally and at depth.

Hawley, President and CEO reports: "As mentioned in previous releases, in less than a year we have outlined the equivalent volume of resources mined by ASARCO from the Nuestra Senora deposit during their 10 years of production, and are now in the process of surpassing that amount significantly. With the added results from these latest holes, there are now 113 reported mineralized intercepts from 36 underground drill holes that are available to supplement the initial NI 43-101 Inferred Resource estimate of 1,180,280 tonnes grading 219.10 g/t Ag, 3.79% Zn, 1.23% Cu, 1.13% Pb and 0.248 g/t Au (Reference: Sedar filing - November 9, 2005). Given the exceptional continuity of mineralization demonstrated by drilling and our deposit modelling capabilities, we have been highly successful at targeting new mineralization and steadily increasing the dimensions of the deposit. Our confidence in the potential to expand the deposit both laterally and vertically remains very high. The recent strong upward trend of prices for all metals present within the Nuestra Senora deposit can only enhance the potential economic viability of the project in 2006. The Nuestra Senora deposit is the largest of four polymetallic deposits clustered together on the property. The potential for the Santo Domingo and Santa Teresa to contain similar mineralization has yet to be evaluated and is scheduled for exploration in 2006."

Within the Nuestra Senora deposit, 62 holes have been completed to date,
33 of which were not included in the November 9, 2005 initial resource
estimate. Data will continue to be released as assay results are received and
compiled.
The Company is pleased to announce that these 33 holes, comprising
6,812 metres, are part of the additional 7,000 metres of drilling proposed by
Chlumsky Armbrust and Meyer (CAM) in their Technical Report (Reference: Sedar
filing - December 8, 2005). It is anticipated that these results will add to
the resource base, allow for a portion of the resources to be upgraded to the
Indicated Resource category and provide sufficient information to proceed with
a scoping study within a short period of time.
Since commencement of underground development in the Nuestra Senora
deposit on February 15, 2005, underground ramp advance totals 761 metres and
405.5 metres of exploration cross-cuts and other drifts have been excavated.
Vice President, Exploration & Development, Mr. D. Roger Scammell, PGeo,
is the Company`s Qualified Person for the Nuestra Senora project. Mr. Scammell
is responsible for the current exploration and development program and the
preparation of all technical information provided in this release. All
technical information for the Nuestra Senora property is obtained and reported
under a formal quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) program. Samples
are shipped to the ALS Chemex preparation laboratory in Hermosillo, Mexico for
drying, crushing and pulverizing. ALS Chemex, Hermosillo then sends the pulps
by air-freight to ALS Chemex, Vancouver for assaying. Systematic assaying of
standards and blanks are performed for precision and accuracy; check assays

Hallo

Scorpio hat nun bei 0,63 CAD den Buchwert mit ca. 28m CAD erreicht. Im Vergleich hierzu haben ähnliche Explorer mit ein Verhältinis zwischen 4 - 10. D.h. Scorpio hat meiner Meinung nach von diesem Niveau noch das 4 - 10 Fache an Kurssteigung vor sich.

Ferner geben die jüngsten Bohrergebnisse großen Anlass zu Optimissmus. Die alten waren aber auch nicht schlecht.

Dies zusammen gepaart mit dem Überwinden der 0,50 CAD Hürde und dem deutlich gestiegenen Volumen in der Aktie, läßt einiges für die Zukunft erwarten.

Scorpio ist mit nur ca. 0,5m CAD Schulden belastet und hat noch über 4m CAD Cash.

Zur Zeit ist dies meine am stärksten gewichtete Aktie in meinem Depot. Mein persönliches KZ liegt bei 4 CAD.

Bin heute auch mit einer ersten Position eingestiegen. Die wirklich sehr guten Bohrergebnisse haben mich dazu motiviert. Wieviel Aktien gibt es eigentlich bzw. wie hoch ist die aktuelle MK. Gibt es eine zeitliche Vorgehensweise/Bohrprogramm für 2006 und wie hoch sind die bisher gefundenen Resourcen. Würde mich freuen, wenn mir jemand meine Fragen geantworten würde.

bin heute auch zu 0.58 can$ eingestiegen. die resultate sind wirklich überzeugend. aber das beste ist dass scorpio das abbaugebiet schon beinahe abgesteckt hat und noch dieses jahr mit der produktion beginnt, so wie ich das mitbekommen habe. bin mir sicher dass nach PML und VG dies mein dritter volltreffer in folge wird. wünsche allen scorpions viel erfolg und ruhiges blut.

Vancouver BC, February 16 - Scorpio Mining (TSXV:SPM) (`Scorpio`) is
very pleased to announce initial assay results from underground channel
sampling of the walls of the 8th level development drift of the
past-producing Nuestra Senora mine located near Cosala, Sinaloa State,
Mexico (Table 1).

Peter J. Hawley, President and CEO reports: "Historical ASARCO plans
and records of the Nuestra Senora mine`s lower levels, i.e. the 8th,
9th and 10th levels, suggested that mineral resources had been defined
by drilling and development work but not extracted. We are extremely
excited to report that upon dewatering of the mine to the 8th level,
full access to this level has confirmed that the historical information
is accurate. Scorpio`s mapping of the 8th level mineralized zones
suggests that the mineralized envelope is between 50 and 100 metres in
width, and our initial channel sampling has returned some very
high-grade results. This is a very positive and significant development
for Scorpio`s Nuestra Senora project. Using existing access and
development drifts on the 8th level, we will be able to quickly
drill-define and sample the mineralized zones, and potentially add
significant tonnes to our growing resource base. The existence of
access and development drifts will also significantly reduce future
drift and stope development costs."

Scorpio is pleased to announce that definition and stope-design
drilling on the 8th level will begin next week. An access drift is
being advanced to the 8th level from the Scorpio ramp, which will allow
for easy access and servicing of the upcoming drill program and future
development. We are looking forward to drill results similar to those
of the new channel samples, which have demonstrated very impressive
metal values over considerable lengths. Scorpio`s on-site mining team
believes that the mineralized zone is likely amenable to long-hole
blasting. Definition and stope-design drilling, as well as channel
sampling of accessible zones, will help determine the feasibility of
this relatively low-cost bulk mining method.

The initial channel samples reported below represent only a small part
of the entire mineralized unit. A detailed plan map of the 8th level
sampling results is available on Scorpio`s website at:

Vancouver, 16. Februar 2006: Scorpio Mining (TSXV: SPM, WKN: 121 237) freut sich, erste Ergebnisse von unterirdischen Probenentnahmen aus den Wänden des 8. Levels der früher produzierenden Nuestra Senora Mine melden zu können. Die Mine liegt nahe Cosala im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Sinaloa (vgl. Tabelle 1) .

Peter Hawley, Präsident und CEO dazu: "Historische Pläne und Aufzeichnungen von ASARCO über die unteren Ebenen von Nuestra Senora, d.h. die Level 8, 9 und 10, legen den Schluß nahe, daß zwar Ressourcen durch Bohrungen und Entwicklungsarbeiten definiert wurden, diese aber nicht aus der Mine extrahiert wurden. Wir sind begeistert, daß sich nach der Entwässerung des 8. Levels diese Aussagen als zutreffend herausgestellt haben. Scorpio´s Kartographierung der mineralisierten Zonen des 8. Levels zeigen, daß die mineralisierte Hülle zwischen 50 und 100 m stark ist und unsere ersten Untersuchungen haben hochgradige Resultate erbracht. Scorpio freut sich auch mitzuteilen, daß die Definitionsbohrungen im 8. Level nächste Woche beginnen werden. Eine Zugangsstrecke wird von der Rampe zum 8. Level vorangetrieben, die den Zutritt für das kommende Programm und die zukünftige unterirdische Entwicklung darstellen wird. Wir freuen uns auf Bohrergebnisse ähnlich der aus den Gängen, die beeindruckende Metallgehalte über große Längen aufwiesen. Scorpio´s lokales Bergbauteam glaubt, daß die mineralisierten Zonen für lange Sprengungen geeignet sind. Definitionsbohrungen, Bohrungen zum Anlegen von Abbaustrecken und Probenentnahmen der zugänglichen Zonen werden helfen, die Durchführbarkeit dieser billigen Abbaumethode festzustellen.

Wie schon in den letzten Meldungen bekanntgemacht, hat Scorpio in weniger als einem Jahr eine Tonnage abgegrenzt, die der 10jähren Produktion durch ASARCO auf Nuestra Senora entspricht. Jetzt wird diese Menge sogar signifikant überschritten.

Das Unternehmen freut sich noch vor der PDAC 2006 auf die Veröffentlichung einer neuen NI 43-101 entsprechenden Ressourcenstudie, die die jüngsten Bohrergebnisse enthalten wird. Scorpio heißt Investoren und sonst interessierte auf der PDAC an Stand 2508 willkommen. Die PDAC findet zwischen dem 5. Und 8. März im Metropolitan Toronto Convention Centre statt.

Wenn da keiner nach dem Motto "200% bis Ende 2006" oder so ähnlich pusht, wird das auch wohl so bleiben, dass zunächst einmal nur ein paar Leute hier investieren, die sich auch mal ein paar andere Werte anschauen als die, die gerade "in" sind. Es gibt halt hier bei w:o nicht so viele, die selbst etwas nachforschen und auf Werte stoßen, die wirklich gute Nachrichten bringen und aussichtsreich erscheinen. Ich bin übrigens schon Ende Januar bei 0,45 € mit einer kleinen Position rein, weil die gemeldeten Bohrergebnisse sehr viel versprechend klangen. Im Prinzip ist es aber auch egal, ob hier eine Riesenmeute aufspringt, denen irgendein Pusher erst sagen muss, was für ein Super-Wert Scorpio ist; der Kurs wird eh` in Kanada gemacht und wenn dort die Performance weiterhin stimmt, geht`s hier halt einfach relativ unbemerkt nach oben. Der übliche Aufschlag in Deutschland von ca. 5 - 10% zum Kanada-Kurs wie bei den Pusherwerten entfällt eben. Dafür hat man seine Ruhe.

Kurz-Kommentierung: SILBER rutschte zu Beginn der Woche deutlich unter die 9,23 $ Marke und den steilen Aufwärtstrend, korrigierte aber nicht ganz bis in den Bereich der Kreuzunterstützung bei 8,80 $. Gestern gelang schließlich die dynamische Rückkehr über 9,23 $ welche dem Edelmetall heute Kraft für einen Folgeanstieg über die exp. GDL 50 (EMA50) bei 9,36 $ gibt. Damit sollte die Korrektur beendet und das kurzfristig bullische Szenario reaktiviert sein. Steigt SILBER jetzt auf Tagesschlussbasis über den kurzfristigen Abwärtstrend als Oberkante einer Bullenflagge bei 9,52 $ an, ist ein direkter Anstieg zum Jahreshoch bei 9,92 $ wahrscheinlich. Darüber sollte sich die Aufwärtsbewegung in Richtung mittelfristigem Kursziel bei 10,80 $ beschleunigen. Alternativ dehnt sich die Korrekturbewegung in der bullischen Flagge noch bis 8,85 $ aus, so bald SILBER wieder auf Tagesschlussbasis unter 9,23 $ zurückfällt.


Das sollte Scorpio noch mehr Auftrieb geben.

Vancouver BC, February 22 - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSXV:SPM) is
pleased to report an update of the previous inferred mineral resource
estimate at the Nuestra Senora silver deposit, Sinaloa State, Mexico
which reported an Inferred Resource of 1,180,280 tonnes (Reference:
Sedar filing - November 9, 2005).

The Company is taking a conservative approach to the resource
estimates, which as of February 22, 2006, the revised estimate now
stands at Indicated Resources of 1,128,000 tonnes grading 202.56 g/t
Silver, 3.47% Zinc, 0.91% Copper, 1.44% Lead and 0.236 g/t Gold in
addition to an Inferred Resources of 978,000 tonnes grading 229.47 g/t
Silver, 4.07% Zinc, 0.92% Copper, 2.72% Lead and 0.347 g/t Gold (Table
1).

Peter J. Hawley, President and CEO reports: "In approximately one year
the Company has:

Based on additional drill data since our November 2005 resource
estimate, we have successfully upgraded the previous inferred resource
to the Indicated category, plus added another one million tonnes of
inferred resources while maintaining a conservative approach in the
estimates."

In Table 1, metal prices quoted of US$7.50 /oz Silver, US$0.57 /lb
Zinc, US$1.40 /lb Copper, US$0.40 /lb Lead and US$460 /oz Gold are
considered to be quite conservative relative to current market
conditions and represent a 15% increase as those utilized in the
November 2005 resource estimate.

The range in cut-off grades from US$70 - $110 is due to the nature of
the deposit with respect to increasing the cost of mining, milling and
processing and the long-term increase in consumables. Also the
different cut-off grades can be used to determine the economic
variability of the project utilizing higher-cost selective mining
techniques or low-cost bulk mining. The metal prices quoted and the
cut-off grades will allow the mandated Scoping Study to determine the
viability of the project using the various factors.

Chlumsky, Armbrust and Meyer (CAM), independent consultants and
Qualified Persons under NI 43-101, have reviewed and verified Scorpio`s
resource estimates. CAM states that they believe the exploration
database has been prepared according to industry norms and is suitable
for the development of geological and grade models, and the QA/QC data
from duplicate and standard sample assays used for the resource
estimate has produced a database of acceptable quality. CAM has
reviewed the exploration and development plans, and it is CAM`s opinion
that the program has been well organized and is appropriate to
accomplish the stated objectives of increasing the resource categories
and obtaining sufficient information to proceed with a scoping study,
and if shown to be positive, followed by a feasibility study and final
mill design.

The drill hole database for the Nuestra Senora Deposit consists of a
total of 201 Scorpio holes (total 23,448.4 metres) including 39 surface
holes (7,381.2 metres) and 64 underground holes (12,126 metres), 98
historical ASARCO drill holes (3941.2 metres) and 320 underground
channel samples covering 316.5 metres taken by Scorpio. The average
drill hole spacing is approximately 25 metres.

In terms of estimation methodology, solids containing mineralization
were interpreted on 5-metre levels and vertical sections at 12.5-metre
intervals and wire framed in Surpac to constrain interpolation and
tabulated by CAM in "MicroModel". Assays were composited at 1-metre
intervals. The mineralized boundaries were drawn using a contained
metal value of US$70 per tonne (medium grade) and US$110 per tonne
(high grade) using discounted metal prices. Estimates were constrained
to within the sulphide solid. Missing assay values were set to zero
before compositing. Estimation was done using inverse distance squared
with a 50 x 50 x 16.67 metre search radius oriented along the
mineralized trend, with a maximum of 10 and a minimum of 2 composites.
A maximum of 10 and a minimum of 5 composites and one composite within
20 metres were required for indicated blocks. Blocks that were further
than 20 metres or estimated by fewer than 5 composites are classified
as "Inferred". No allowance was made for mineability, mineral loss or
dilution. Cumulative frequency plot of composite values did not
indicate any need for capping; hence, composite values were uncapped.
Grade and value results are reported to 2 and 3 decimals for
comparative purposes only and do not imply this level of accuracy.

Scorpio`s ongoing exploration program and mapping of the 8th level
mineralized zones has indicated that the mineralized envelope is
between 50 and 100 metres in width, and initial channel sampling has
returned some very high-grade results (News Release 137 - February 16,
2006). The initial channel samples reported represent only a small part
of the entire mineralized unit. A detailed plan map of the 8th level
sampling results is available on Scorpio`s website at:

This is a very positive and significant development for Scorpio`s
Nuestra Senora project. Using existing access and development drifts on
the 8th level will enable quick drill-definition and sampling of the
mineralized zones, and potentially add significant tonnes to the
growing resource base. The existence of access and development drifts
will also significantly reduce future drift and stope development
costs.

Scorpio is pleased to announce that definition and stope-design
drilling on the 8th level has begun, and an access drift is being
advanced to the 8th level from the Scorpio ramp, which will allow for
easy access and servicing of the upcoming drill program and future
development. We are looking forward to drill results similar to those
of the new channel samples, which have demonstrated very impressive
metal values over considerable lengths. Scorpio`s on-site mining team
believes that the mineralized zone is likely amenable to long-hole
blasting. Definition and stope-design drilling, as well as channel
sampling of accessible zones, will help determine the feasibility of
this relatively low-cost bulk mining method.

The complete NI 43-101 Technical Report from CAM describing the
procedures and parameters involved in the resource estimate, in
addition to selected maps, sections and additional data, will be filed
on SEDAR and posted on Scorpio`s website (www.scorpiomining.com ) within
the next 45 days.

Mineral resources are not reserves and do not have demonstrated
economic viability.

Vice President, Exploration & Development, Mr. D. Roger Scammell, PGeo,
is the Company`s Qualified Person for the Nuestra Senora project. Mr.
Scammell is responsible for the current exploration and development
program and the preparation of all technical information provided in
this release. All technical information for the Nuestra Senora property
is obtained and reported under a formal quality assurance and quality
control (QA/QC) program. Samples are shipped to the ALS Chemex
preparation laboratory in Hermosillo, Mexico for drying, crushing and
pulverizing. ALS Chemex, Hermosillo then sends the pulps by air-freight
to ALS Chemex, Vancouver for assaying. Systematic assaying of standards
and blanks are performed for precision and accuracy; check assays are
regularly conducted by SGS Lakefield Research. Details of the QA/QC
