Ein Mann mit Kippa schlendert durch die Strassen Jerusalems, er trägt eines dieser orangenen Armbänder gegen den Gaza-Abzug, die man dieser Tage so oft sieht, ein ganz normaler und unauffälliger Mann. Wenn da nicht sein Familienname wäre und sein berühmt-berüchtigter Verwandter, der als rechte Hand Hitlers mit der Vernichtung von Millionen von Menschenleben unsagbares Leid anrichtete. Wüßten die Passanten diesen Namen, würden sie sich nach dem unauffälligen Mann umdrehen. Und wüßte Hermann Göring, dass der Sohn seines Cousins mit Kippa durch Jerusalem spaziert, den Schabatt hält und koscher isst, würde er sich im Grabe umdrehen.

Wer knnt diese Geschichte
Bei dem Angehängten Artikel handelt sich zwar um einen Nachkommen von Göring, aber der gehörte ja auch zu Hitler.
Warum die Frage nach den Nachkommen plötzlich wieder so wichtig wird, weiss ich nicht, denn ich persönlich denke, man sollte die Vergangenheit ruhen lassen und in die zukunft blicken. Nur sollte man aus der Vergangeheit gelernt haben, damit sie sich nicht wiederholt.

The articles, published following the interwiew of our brother Matthias Göring by Ruth Elkin on different internet sites in february and march 2006 contain errors and quotations. The interview is concerning statements of our brother on his family and his family life. The description and comments concerning our parents are wrong and erroneours. Therefor we, as the brothers and sisters of Matthias would like to rectify the following items:
1. The great grandfather of Matthias Göring was not the brother of Hermann Göring’s grandfather. Indeed, the the great-grandfather of Matthias Göring, Peter Johann Göring (1852-1927), did some research on his greater family. The common ancestor with Hermann Göring was the lawyer Christian Heinrich Göring (1740-1805).
2. Our father was never a prisoner of war of the Russians. On the contrary, the Russians only checked his identity for a few days. After 1945 he was imprisoned by the Americans and French for some days due to denounciation. He was released after the context had been clarified.
3. It is wrong to affirm our parents had espressed antisemitic views. On the contrary our father was very sceptic concerning the Nazi regime after 1933. There is evidence that he only joined the party in 1938 in order to be able to support his lecturers in psychologie and psychotherapie at Munich university.
4. It is wrong that we were opressed by our parents. On the contrery we had a joyful childhood and our parents supported us as much as they could. Indeed they were very ambitious and requested our participation for example, they supported the author of these lines (Michael Christian Göring) in his dispute with his highschool for democratic reasons. Afterwards he left school and his parents payed for a three year private training to prepare his A-levels.
5. The articles wrongly state:”In my family we all learned to hate them, not to love them. Wo grew up understanding that Israel and the Jewish people are to blame for the fact that our family had no money”. On the contrary except our brother Matthias, none of us, neither our relatives or friends have had this kind of experience. In our family there was no antisemitic athmosphere. We have not experianced hatred against other human beings.
6. The statements in the articles, that we were told that there was no money for new toys because all our money had gone to the jews, is wrong. On the contrary we had many and often quite expensive toys for every age. For example kits for physical and chemical experiments, roller skates in summer, slay and ice skates for the winter and even horses.
We, as the brothers and sisters of Matthias are unable to explain how our brother could have had such experiences. Inparticular we don’t know why our brother concludes that there was constant antisemitism in our family, as a doctor and psychotherapist our father had jewish patients among others. Even they were in contact with our family and haven’t observed observed any antisemitic tendencies.

In Basel traf Reporterin Ruth Elkin Matthias Goering, dessen Ur-Grossvater der Bruder des Grossvaters von Nazi-Luftwaffenchef Hermann Goering war. Der 49-jährige Physiotherapeut Matthias Goering lebt streng nach den Regeln des jüdischen Glaubens und möchte auch formal zum Judentum übertreten.
