      Hallo Leute,

Trade Winds cuts 64.38 gpt Au over 8.0 m at Detour Lake

      2006-04-05 06:28 ET - News Release

      Mr. Ian Lambert reports

TRADE WINDS DISCOVERS 64.38 GRAMS/TONNE GOLD OVER 8.0 METRES AT DETOUR LAKE, ONTARIO

Trade Winds Ventures Inc. has obtained high-grade gold values from this winter's near-surface diamond drilling program along the M zone at Detour Lake, Ontario. On Section 16740E, high-grade gold mineralization has been discovered over a 100-metre height in four diamond drill holes, and remains open to depth. These values occur between 90 and 190 metres from surface, and in descending depth, contain the following values:

      Hole Gold Length Gold Length
      gpt m opt ft

      TWDDH-143 64.38 8.00 1.88 26.25
      TWDDH-129 46.64 3.00 1.36 9.8
      TWDDH-134 49.80 0.50 1.45 1.6
      TWDDH-139 28.70 0.50 0.84 1.6

Visible gold was noted in all intercepts and has been observed in over 85 per cent of the 201 drill holes intercepting the M zone structural corridor, now tested over a four-kilometre strike length. Over 71 per cent of all diamond drill holes along the M zone have returned a value of at least 10 grams per tonne gold over a minimum 1.0-metre width. Based on the drilling to date, the company believes the mineralization plunges gently to the west.

The high-grade intercept of 64.38 grams per tonne gold over the 8.00-metre core length occurs in the hangingwall of the main M zone contact. Several other hangingwall and footwall zones were tested during this phase of drilling. Less than 60 metres from surface, hole TWDDH-143 returned 11.40 grams per tonne gold over a 4.00-metre core length from a hangingwall quartz zone, approximately 60 metres above the main M zone contact. At least six east-west-trending zones of alteration and gold mineralization in close proximity to the M zone mafic/ultramafic contact have been identified from this year's winter program.

Details of the assay results received for Section 16740E from the recently completed, near-surface winter M zone drilling program are as follows:

The winter 2006 diamond drilling of the M zone on the block A option was completed by the end of March, with a total of 13,510 metres in 59 holes. Core logging, splitting and assaying will continue for the next several weeks.

Ian Lambert, Trade Winds' chief executive officer, stated: "These are very exciting initial results, gleaned from the first four holes of a 59-hole 2006 winter drill program along the M zone structure on block A. Results to date have returned excellent gold grades, confirmed down-dip continuity of mineralization, and identified numerous high-grade gold-bearing quartz zones on both the hanging wall and footwall sides of the contact. Trade Winds has now identified high-grade gold over at least a four-kilometre strike length on the M zone structural corridor, which remains open along strike and to depth."

Trade Winds has completed sufficient exploration expenditures to earn its 50-per-cent interest from Pelangio Mines Inc. in block A, one of its three optioned Detour Lake properties situated approximately 180 kilometres northeast of Timmins, Ont., and located in the Abitibi greenstone belt, Canada's most prolific gold producing belt.

Lorne Warner, PGeo, is the qualified person for the Trade Winds Detour Lake projects. Trade Winds, as operator of the projects, has implemented a quality-control program to ensure best practice in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. All fire assay results are being provided by ALS Chemex, North Vancouver, B.C., an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.

      We seek Safe Harbor.

High-Grade Gold Results and New Alteration Zone Discovery by Trade Winds at Detour Lake, Ontario

Timmins, Ont., April 19, 2006 - Trade Winds Ventures Inc. (TSX-V: TWD) announces that further high grade gold values have been obtained from its 2006 winter diamond drilling program. The program was designed to test the near surface potential of the M Zone at Detour Lake, Ontario.

Results released today are from Section 16660E, located 720 metres to the east of last week's April 12, 2006 release (which contained 12.91 grams/tonne gold over 3.50 metres along the M Zone on Section 15940E), and 80 metres to the west of the April 5, 2006 release (which contained 64.38 grams/tonne gold over 8.00 metres on Section 16740E).

The drilling confirmed the continuity of the structure, with the significant gold values projected to be slightly above the interpreted plunge of the high grades encountered on Section 16740E. Utilizing data from Trade Winds and Placer Dome drill holes, the mineralized zone on Section 16660E is over 70 metres in height, with a higher grade zone projected to occur down-dip from these intercepts and down plunge from the high grades on Section 16740E. Visible gold was observed in both holes.
      Hole # Grams/tonne Metres Ounces/ton Feet
      TWDDH-149 8.40 8.00 0.24 26.25
      Including 25.20 2.00 0.73 6.56
      TWDDH-152 4.79 4.00 0.14 13.12

Trade Winds has now reported on 11 of 59 diamond drill holes completed from this winter's near surface, M Zone program. Details of the assay results received for Section 16660E are as follows:
      HOLE NAME FROM TO CORE
      LENGTH TRUE
      WIDTH COMPOSITE Comments
      (m) (m) (m) (m) (g/t gold)
      TWDDH-149 56.00 61.00 5.00 3.50 1.23
      77.00 85.00 8.00 5.60 8.40 Visible Gold

      including 83.00 84.00 1.00 0.70 40.90
      TWDDH-152 96.00 100.00 4.00 2.80 4.79 Visible Gold
      105.00 110.00 5.00 3.50 2.54
      142.00 147.00 5.00 3.50 2.27

True width is represented by approximately 70% of the core length.

Hole locations, orientations and final depths for the M Zone diamond drill program on Section 16660E are as follows:
Hole Number North East Azimuth Dip Final Depth (m)
      TWDDH-149 20490 16660 180 -55 156.0
      TWDDH-152 20545 16660 180 -55 205.0

Multiple gold zones occur along the M Zone structural corridor, which encompasses ultramafic and mafic rocks and the important intervening main M Zone contact. Trade Winds has traced this contact over a 4.0 kilometre east-west strike length, and has consistently observed visible gold in over 85% of the holes drilled along the corridor. Higher concentrations of gold mineralization occur along the contact in open folds or kinks, with a strong correlation to felsic dyking.

The winter 2006 diamond drilling of the M Zone on the Block A option was completed by the end of March, with a total of 13,510 metres in 59 holes. The last three holes of the 2006 winter program, TWDDH-183 to TWDDH-185, stepped out up to 400 metres to the west of all previous near surface M Zone winter programs. TWDDH-183 and TWDDH-185 were completed on Section 15540E and TWDDH-184 was completed on Section 15780E. Based on the amount of quartz veining, chalcopyrite and observed mineralization, Trade Winds believes it has discovered another alteration zone along the upper M Zone contact. This new zone, where drill tested, is less than 100 metres from surface. Fire assays are pending for these holes.

Trade Winds has completed sufficient exploration expenditures to earn its 50% interest from Pelangio Mines Inc. (TSX: PLG) in Block A, one of its three optioned Detour Lake Properties situated approximately 180 kilometres northeast of Timmins, Ontario, and located in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, Canadas most prolific gold producing belt.

Mr. Ian Lambert, Trade Winds' CEO, commented: "When we stepped out to the west of the known structure, we were hoping that more mineralization might occur nearer surface than previously thought. This is apparently the case, and will provide new impetus to continue our shallow drilling as we work our way west along the M Zone structural corridor. With our commitment to drill higher up on the Gowest Block, we are encouraged by the potential to increase the overall height of the structure at shallower depths".

Mr. Lorne Warner, P. Geo., is the qualified person for the Trade Winds Detour Lake projects. Trade Winds, as operator of the projects, has implemented a quality control program to ensure best practices in the sampling and analysis of the drill core. All fire assay results are being provided by ALS Chemex, North Vancouver, BC, an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 17025 accredited laboratory.
