The Board of Directors of Pan Fish ASA resolved in
a board meeting 4 May 2006 to implement a
placement of up to 25 390 625 new shares at a
subscription price of NOK 6.40 per share, which
gives an issue amount of up to NOK 162.5 million.
The issue is a private placing towards those
shareholders in the company who as per 7 April
2006 owned a minimum of 5000 shares, and who did
not have the opportunity to purchase shares in the
share sale which was implemented this date. The
subscription period runs from and including 9 May
and to and including 23 May 2006. For further
information concerning the placement we refer to
the prospectus which will be available on Pan

internet pages of the managers Carnegie

Hi,
ja es sieht wirklich gut aus. Ich denke, dass der Fischproduktion noch eine grosse Zukunft bevorsteht. Ich war vorher in Fjord Seafood investiert, welche dann von Pan Fish geschluckt wurde.

seit dieser Woche umbenannt in Marine Harvest (war der Name der geschluckten Nutreco-Sparte). Das Logo von "pan fish" bleibt, und "excellence in seafood" (der Slogan von Fjord Seafood) wird auch beibehalten. Somit ist von allen drei Teilen, die jetzt Marine Harvest ausmachen, etwas geblieben.
Schade das einige Schottische Farmen wohl aufgegeben werden müssen wegen der Wettbewerbshüter - ansonsten sieht es sehr gut aus. Die Lachspreise sind weiterhin hoch.

Marine Harvest teams up with McDonalds

American burger chain McDonalds intends to test Norwegian salmon on their fast food menu in Norway, and a global launch may result.

Marine Harvest's communication director Arne Hjeltnes and the head of McDonald's Norway, Theo Holm, teamed up to develop the idea of the joint effort to promote Norwegian salmon, financial daily Dagens Næringsliv reports.

Fresh salmon in a wrap will be tested on Norwegian McDonalds menus and the plan is to have the product ready at all Norwegian outlets by August 2007. The menu item has been created in cooperation with the Norwegian Gastronomic Institute.

"Our goal is that everyone in Norway will have tried this product at least once in its first year," Holm told DN.

McDonalds reportedly intends to invest between NOK 6-8 million (USD 1-1.3 million) on a major promotional campaign for the salmon wrap.

Hjeltnes, a well-known media personality in Norway, told DN it was vital for Marine Harvest to cultivate highly demanding clients such as McDonalds.

"Fast food is on the rise, as is the use of fish. Now we can combine two strong trends and reach a wider range of consumers, not least children and the youth segment," Hjeltnes said.

The project has enormous potential for Marine Harvest, owned by Norwegian-turned-Cypriot business tycoon John Fredriksen. McDonalds has 31,000 outlets worldwide and a successful global launch of the salmon wrap can generate about NOK 4 billion (USD 660 million) in sales, according to DN.

Aker Seafoods facility closed
A Food Safety Authority inspector called the conditions the worst he had ever seen after falling ill at the Aker Seafoods facility in Vardø in northern Norway.

The FSA shut down the Aker Seafoods unit after three inspectors carried out a check on Oct. 1.

Large areas of damp and rot damage were found, and mold growth and formations behind wall panels throughout the plant, NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting) reports.

Inspector Håkon Arne Larsen discovered large areas of rot after tearing away a few plastic panels in the landing and cold storage areas. He developed breathing difficulties and an aggressive rash on his face. The other inspectors became dizzy, nauseated and experienced headaches, NRK reports.

Larsen told NRK that after touching one of the infected areas he touched his face before washing his hands and immediately developed a rash.

Regional director for Aker Seafoods in Finnmark County, Roger Sørensen, was unaware of the conditions.

"This is new to us, and we have had previous inspections where mold and rot were not detected. We have to sit down and take a look at the cause of what the FSA has found, Sørensen said.
