      Abgang ins WE.

Emission. Vielleicht erfährt man darüber etwas.
Soll heißen, man

It’s very encouraging that this first sign has said that there is this shale and it is working and that the pay thicknesses are there, similar to what you have in the States,
and Forest Oil would know, because they are a player in this space, they know it very well, but it is not something that’s gonna turn into a massive amount of production and a massive amount of cash flow in 2008, it may take till 2010, 2011, but if this can turn into hundreds of millions a day of natural gas, number 1; it would be…make Quebec more self sufficient in terms of usage of energy, number 2 (…well they do have a lot of hydro, as we know, but natural gas usage of energy…), and number 2; it would mean some royalties for the government over time from energy which would make them an energy producing province, which would be kind of interesting from a politics point of view, that Quebec becomes an energy producer.

Here to give us a little more context on what it means for both the province as well as the company; we’re joined by Michael Binnion. 34:30 - 39:25, intervjuet

[Parlee] Mike, thank you for joining us.

[Binnion] Oh, thank you for having me.

[Parlee] Tell me how much gas we are talking about, first off.

[Binnion] Oh, well, the amount of gas that has been talked about on the upside potential in the Forest Oil press release is huge. Just on their acreage, their talking about 4 Tcf of gas. When you take the total acres they‘re talking about in the basin, it could easily be 20-30 Tcf of gas, which puts it in that same league as the Barnett Shale, which they talked about.

[Parlee] Now, that was on their property, what about yours? I mean how…what does this mean for Questerre?

[Binnion] Well, we’re partners with Forest Oil on their acreage. We own a 20 percent interest in a 113.000 acres with Forest Oil. We also have another 200.000 odd acres with Talisman and in addition a third block in the south part, south of Montreal, our first shallower shale.

[Parlee] Tell me how this, …where this gas is, because it’s in shale, which of course means it’s harder to get out, but spell this out for us, for people who don’t know what it is.

[Binnion] Well, I came from the days when shale was a source rock or a seal rock, but we never thought of it as a reservoir rock. Technology has progressed to the point where we know now where to look in the shales, what characteristics we’re looking for in those shales, plus with the technology of fraccing and completing the wells, we now can get them to actually flow rock [gas (?)] out of what used to be just a seal rock. So we’ve now got shale acting as a reservoir rock and it‘s been successful in a number of places, the most famous of which being the Barnett Shale.

      Beitrag Nr. 524 ()
Parlee] How do you get at it?

[Binnion] I drill a normal well, but…so it’s just a normal drilling practices to drill the well. In…the best results have come from drilling horizontal wells with selective stage fracs which helps open up the shale and helps increase the flow rates.

[Parlee] But this is…this is a new technology. I mean…I was speaking with someone today who said, you know; had you found this a decade ago, it wouldn’t have mattered ‘cause you couldn’t have economically gotten it out, and now you can.

[Binnion] Yeah, and that…there’s no question that that’s a large part to do with technology and this stage fraccing is a brand new technology. I mean, even only two years ago we had to choose between a vertical well with a frac or a horizontal well. Now we can have both; horizontal well with fracs. But the other main thing is changed 10 years ago and that’s when we first started looking for gas in Quebec, 10 years ago, we’ve held this land for that long. The prize of gas was only 2 dollars an MCF, so the change in gas prizes is another big factor in terms of the economics of shale.

[Parlee] Michael, we just had a map on the screen and it showed that this of course is in the St. Lawrence Lowlands and it’s also close to pipe lines. Is that right?

[Binnion] Well, yes, I mean; our company started with the idea of finding big gas in big markets. Quebec is the second biggest gas market in Canada. The Trans-Canada Pipe
Line ships gas from Alberta to Quebec City and we’ve now found a gas discovery right where the gas is being used and of course that makes it a lot more valuable. We save on pipe line charges and our net prize is much higher in Quebec than it would be in Alberta.

      [Parlee] What happens now?

[Binnion] Well, we have the 3 wells that Forest Oil is committed to drill and we’ll be very much looking forward to the results of that pilot programme with horizontal wells in terms of what kind of production we’ll get. We certainly agree with Forest Oil we’ll see better production rates out of those than the verticals. And the other thing is to see where partner Talisman…they own the biggest block of land in this play in Quebec, together with us and we’ll…very interested to see what their programme for this year is gonna be.

[Parlee] What is this gonna mean for (you how Questerre in terms of financing) [ ??- utydelig ]? Do you need to finance yourself to ramp up to get ready for what this could be?

[Binnion] Well, we’re an oil and gas company with more than one project, so we have cash flow. We had 10 million dollars positive cash flow last year from other projects. We have the financial resources to see this play through with our partners, partners’ capital helping to carry us. And so, I …for the balance of this year, we have all the money that we need.

[Parlee] And last question for you, and this probably is premature, but I’ll ask it anyway; what of course is (one of the hot topics right now) [ ??- utydelig ] are royalties that are being paid in Alberta to the government. What is Quebec’s policy on this, I mean; what do you…if they don’t have a significant energy industry…so I don’t think it has been developed yet, but what is your sense?

[Binnion] Oh, well, the royalty regime that’s in place in Quebec today is approximately a 12 ½ percent royalty and that’s been in place for…well, since we’ve been there, which is before 1998.

      Hi qec´s,

1 TCF gleich 1 Milliarde US-Dollar.

      lieber in Frankfurt.

Why I still recommend QEC, even at a buck…………………

Five sessions ago, I gave the nod to Questerre Energy (QEC-T) at the .42 cent level......Subsequently, it moved through the dollar plus level, correcting back about 20 %, in the last few sessions. Even though the price reached 140% higher, before forming the current base nicely, it matters not. As a target of 2.50 or better is in grasp and a realistic expectation. Usually cheap and hesitant of buying on such a spectacular increase, I will make an exception here after a 30 minute talk with Mike Binnion [Millionaire Mike after this week....congrats big time]

The president of the Calgary based producer of 1400boe/day adds his C.G.A.skils to the mix and offers this outstanding analysis of the Forest Oil news and resulting fallout in the patch.

He figures Forest (FST-NYSE) gained 350m to their market cap and Talisman over $1b last week. Questerre at 1$ doubled , adding less than 100m. He went on to say that this is despite more and better percentages and land positions.. A similar performance as Forest would result in a $2.25 stock price, triple that to around $7.00 if compared to Talisman (TLM.V), which he felt would be justifiable when you dissect the jv properties they share. This does not include any reflection of the Gulf of St. Lawrence play with TLM, where favorable results are expected shortly.

I suggested to him the other two were higher profile due to promotion and institutional followings.

Again, Mr. B was already all over it. Today, Sunday himself and CFO Jason D"Silva are in Norway, meeting with a group of rabid brokers who have sponsored QEC for years. The sell is an easy one there, in my estimation. London, New York and Toronto are also agenda stops on the way home Friday coming. According to Mike a major heavy hitter shall issue a strong buy recommendation shortly. A program of aggressive accumulation will surely see a rise by at least double, and perhaps more...much more by Mays last days.

I take comfort in the fact that the 3 insiders whom I am acquainted with refuse to sell below a $2 minimum, holding every stick of furniture in the store. After trading 90 million shares of the 170m outstanding, this is another good signal.

The chart tells me that 85c would be a very strong technical point with $1.25 a breakout. A 15c gamble is a worthy risk for such a quick potential multiplication of investment

I add to this knowledge, that I have, through my own personal undertaken research. In Fort Nelson BC, the Horne Lake area is being touted by EnCana as the newest, largest gas producing area in North Amerca.City council braces for a doubling in size as services required will be based there. Hold on to your hats, this one will rock for some time to come.

I’m stepping out and hanging a price sticker of a fiver on QEC.

Junex sees Rabaska supplying U.S. market

      KEVIN DOUGHERTY
      The Gazette

      Tuesday, April 08, 2008

The discovery of approximately 4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in Quebec, enough to supply the province's needs for 20 years, could make two proposed liquefied natural gas ports redundant for the Quebec market.

Jean-Yves Lavoie, president of Junex Inc., a partner in the Utica shale gas field, said yesterday he thinks the Rabaska LNG port, across the St. Lawrence from Quebec City, is a good project.

But with three times the natural gas available in the province in the Utica field, Lavoie sees Rabaska's future supplying the U.S. market.

Simon Poitras, a Rabaska spokesman, cautioned yesterday that the Utica discovery - at an undisclosed location between Montreal and Quebec City - is "very exploratory."

Frédéric Krikorian, spokes-man for Gaz Métro, the province's natural gas distributor and a Rabaska shareholder, noted that at present, Quebec's only source of natural gas is western Canada.

"We have been trying for years to diversify our supply," he said, adding that is why Gaz Métro is investing in Rabaska.

Krikorian added that the Utica shale gas would give Gaz Métro two alternatives to western gas.

"More sources are better for the consumer," he said, explaining that the choice between LNG and shale gas would put Gaz Métro in a better position to negotiate a good price.

Jean-Yves Laliberté, of Quebec's natural resources department, described the Utica discovery as "very significant for Quebec."

But Laliberté said the discovery at this point is like a lab test and he is waiting for the results of horizontal drilling - a new technology developed to extract natural gas from shale - this summer.

Lavoie said Junex, a Quebec company, invited Forest Oil Corp. of Denver, a company with experience in the Barnett shale gas field in Texas, to be its partner in the initial project.

Forest announced April 1 that two vertical wells drilled last summer identified a potential of 4 trillion cubic feet of gas, or about 20 per cent of the gas in the geological formation, that can be recovered. Production would start in 2009.

Forest believes the initial results are encouraging because the shale is at a shallow depth, rock properties are comparable to established shale plays, and the impurities in the gas found are minimal.

As well, there are pipelines nearby to bring the gas to market, and "premium natural gas pricing to NYMEX makes the economics compelling."

Lavoie said it costs more to extract shale gas than conventional gas because of horizontal drilling. But transport costs would be less, he noted.

Lavoie said by using new technology developed in the Barnett shale field in Texas, it could be possible to extract up to 50 per cent of the natural gas in the Utica field.

"It's like having more straws in the glass," he said.

      Dranbleiben:)

      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 14, 2008 – Questerre announces first quarter results

Calgary, Alberta – Questerre Energy Corporation ("Questerre" or the "Company") (TSX, OSE: QEC) announced today its financial and operating results for the first quarter of 2008.

Michael Binnion, President and Chief Executive Officer of Questerre, commented, “The first quarter was eventful to say the least. The excitement surrounding the significant shale gas discovery on our Quebec acreage completely overshadowed the disappointment from the A-8 well at Beaver River. We had excellent drilling results with our newer projects in Antler and Greater Sierra. The higher quality reserves and improved netbacks coupled with higher prices translated into record cash flow for the quarter.”

      Highlights

      • Significant Utica shale gas discovery in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, Quebec
      • Excellent results from horizontal wells in Antler, Saskatchewan
      • Successfully drilled two Jean Marie wells and acquired a 46 sq mile 3-D seismic survey in Greater Sierra, northeast British Columbia
      • Tested non-commercial well at Beaver River Field
      • Cash flow from operations increased to $3.94 million from $3.05 million in 2007

Cash flow from operations in 2008 grew to $3.94 million from $3.05 million in 2007. The increase reflects the higher commodity prices and improved operating netbacks of $37.08/boe in 2008, an increase of just over 50% from $24.57/boe in 2007. The Company reported a working capital deficit of $4.51 million at March 31, 2008 as compared to a surplus of $10.01 million at December 31, 2007.

Petroleum and natural gas revenue in the first quarter of 2008 was $7.23 million, a marginal decrease from $7.50 million in the preceding year. Higher oil production and commodity prices contributed to the strong revenue with average production of 1,274 boe/d during the quarter (2007: 1,702 boe/d). Net income of $1.47 million (2007: $0.48 million) for the quarter is primarily due to a future tax recovery of 2.25 million (2007: nil).

Questerre Energy Corporation is a Calgary-based independent resource company actively engaged in the exploration, development and acquisition of high-impact exploration and development oil and gas projects in Canada.

This news release contains forward-looking information. Implicit in this information are assumptions regarding commodity pricing, production, royalties and expenses, that, although considered reasonable by the Company at the time of preparation, may prove to be incorrect. These forward-looking statements are based on certain assumptions that involve a number of risks and uncertainties and are not guarantees of future performance. Actual results could differ materially as a result of changes in the Company’s plans, commodity prices, equipment availability, general economic, market, regulatory and business conditions as well as production, development and operating performance and other risks associated with oil and gas operations. There is no guarantee made by the Company that the actual results achieved will be the same as those forecasted herein.

Barrel of oil equivalent (“boe”) amounts may be misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A boe conversion ratio has been calculated using a conversion rate of six thousand cubic feet of natural gas to one barrel and is based on an energy equivalent conversion method application at the burner tip and does not necessarily represent an economic value equivalent at the wellhead.

May 21, 2008 – Questerre to participate in major pilot project in the Lowlands

Calgary, Alberta – Questerre Energy Corporation ("Questerre" or the "Company") (OSE,TSX:QEC) announced that it plans to participate with its partner Talisman Energy Canada (“Talisman”) in a major pilot program to assess the commerciality of unconventional gas in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, Quebec.

In addition to the previously announced commitment to drill three vertical test wells, the pilot program will include vertical and several horizontal wells. Questerre expects the program to be carried out in 2008 and 2009 with a budget in excess of $100 million. For its acreage in the play fairway, Questerre will budget, on a net basis, between $25 million and $30 million of which $3 million to $5 million is expected to be spent in 2008 with the balance in 2009. These amounts do not include anticipated spending on the Yamaska licenses.

The pilot project to assess commerciality will focus on the siltstone/shale sequences of both the Utica and Lorraine. Based on recently published data by Talisman, the discovered resource for the Lorraine of 50 Bcf-190 Bcf per section compares favorably to the discovered resource for the Utica of 25 Bcf-160 Bcf per section. The initial three vertical test wells will also test the Trenton Black-River. Further investment in the Trenton Black-River will be contingent on the exploration results achieved.

Michael Binnion, President and Chief Executive Officer of Questerre, commented, “We are delighted with the expanded program to evaluate commerciality of both the Lorraine and Utica formations. Based on work to date we believe the rock properties are very promising for unconventional gas in the Lowlands.”

      Long and Strong;)

Gastem Adopts Shareholder Rights Plan and Increases Stock Option Plan
      5/22/2008 2:12:22 PM - Market Wire

MONTREAL, QUEBEC, May 22, 2008 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --
Gastem Inc. (TSX VENUTRE:GMR), ("Gastem" or the "Company") today announced that its Board of Directors has approved the adoption of a shareholder rights plan (the "Rights Plan") designed to encourage the fair and equal treatment of shareholders in connection with any take-over bid for the outstanding securities of the Company. The Rights Plan is intended to provide the Board of Directors with adequate time to assess a take-over bid, to consider alternatives to a take-over bid as a means of maximizing shareholder value, to allow competing bids to emerge, and to provide Gastem's shareholders with adequate time to properly assess a take-over bid without undue pressure. Gastem's Board of Directors is not currently aware of any pending or threatened take-over bid for the Company. The Rights Plan is similar to plans adopted by other Canadian companies and ratified by their shareholders.

Under the terms of the Rights Plan, one right (a "Right") will, subject to the terms of the Rights Plan, be issued by Gastem in respect of each outstanding Gastem common share at the close of business today and in respect of each Gastem common share issued thereafter. The Rights issued under the Rights Plan become exercisable only if a person acquires 20% or more of the common shares of the Company without complying with the "permitted bid" provisions of the Rights Plan or without the approval of Gastem's Board of Directors.

Should such an acquisition occur, Rights holders (other than the acquiring person or related persons) could purchase common shares of the Company at half the prevailing market price (as defined in the Rights Plan) at the time the Rights become exercisable.

"Permitted bids" under the Rights Plan must be made to all holders of Gastem's common shares and must be open for acceptance for a minimum of 60 days. If at least 50% of the outstanding common shares have been tendered and not withdrawn after 60 days, the bidder may take-up the shares, but must make a public announcement of that take-up and extend the bid for a further 10 days to allow other shareholders to tender to the bid.

Although effective as of today, the Rights Plan is subject to ratification by Gastem's shareholders at the Company's annual meeting to be held on June 27, 2008 and, if ratified, the Rights Plan must be confirmed at every third annual meeting thereafter. If not ratified within six months from today, the Rights Plan and all of the Rights outstanding at the time will terminate.

The Rights Plan is also subject to acceptance by the TSX Venture Exchange. A copy of the Rights Plan is available for viewing on SEDAR at www.sedar.com, and can also be obtained from Gastem upon a written request.

Furthermore, Gastem is pleased to announce that it has amended its Stock Option Plan in order to increase the limit of common shares issuable from 4,697,899 to 5,822,612 common shares, an increase of 1,124,713 common shares. As of this date, Gastem has 3,770,000 stock options outstanding. The amendment of the Stock Option Plan is subject to regulatory approvals.

Gastem is an independent oil and gas exploration company based in Montreal. The company holds exploration and storage rights to over 1.1M acres of land in the St. Lawrence Lowlands and the Gaspe Peninsula in Quebec. The company has also an option to acquire a 65% interest in properties situated in New York State and has revenues from a minority participation in the Amber Bank shale gas project in West Virginia.

23/06-2008 06:41:05: (QEC) Questerre anounces 1,000 boe/d Vulcan light oil well
Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corporation
      (`Questerre` or the `Company`) (OSE,TSX:QEC)
reported today on the initial test results from its
first stage-fractured horizontal well in the Vulcan
oil pool in Southern Alberta. Questerre and Compton
      Petroleum Corporation (`Compton`) each have a 50%
interest in this well and the oil pool.

The Questerre operated well was drilled to a
vertical depth of approximately 1900m with a 500m
horizontal leg in the target Mannville Formation.
The well was subsequently stimulated with a
four-stage selective frac and free-flowed to surface
light oil and associated natural gas at rates in
      excess of 1,000 boe/d. During a subsequent 5-day
test, with capacity constraints, the well flowed to
surface on a 1½-inch choke at rates of 750 bbl/d
with associated gas and less than a 10% water cut.

Michael Binnion, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Questerre, commented, `This well exceeded
our expectations and is another example of our
success in applying selective frac`ing technology.
The initial results from this well are 3 to 4 times
the rate from the adjacent 16-20 vertical fractured
well. We look forward to follow-on development of
      this pool.`

Questerre expects the well will be placed on
production with an initial regulatory restricted
rate of 315 bbl/d plus gas during the New Oil Well
Production Period (`NOWPP`) until the Company
obtains Good Production Practice (`GPP`) status to
commence full production from the oil pool.

Field operations are already underway to tie in the
well to the existing gathering system and battery.
Questerre expects the well to be placed on
production in July. Questerre and Compton have
identified two additional infill locations and are
in the process of applying for licenses to drill the
next well, which is anticipated to be operated by
      Compton.

Questerre is a Calgary-based independent resource
company actively engaged in the exploration,
      development and acquisition of high-impact
exploration and development oil and gas projects in
      Canada.

      This news release contains forward-looking
information. Implicit in this information are
      assumptions regarding commodity pricing, production,
royalties and expenses, that, although considered
reasonable by the Company at the time of
preparation, may prove to be incorrect. These
forward-looking statements are based on certain
assumptions that involve a number of risks and
uncertainties and are not guarantees of future
performance. Actual results could differ materially
as a result of changes in the Company`s plans,
      commodity prices, equipment availability, general
economic, market, regulatory and business conditions
as well as production, development and operating
performance and other risks associated with oil and
gas operations. There is no guarantee made by the
Company that the actual results achieved will be the
      same as those forecasted herein.

Barrel of oil equivalent (`boe`) amounts may be
misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A boe
conversion ratio has been calculated using a
conversion rate of six thousand cubic feet of
natural gas to one barrel and is based on an energy
equivalent conversion method application at the
burner tip and does not necessarily represent an
economic value equivalent at the wellhead.

First let me say that I am not a geologist, and my view here is based on my own DD.

When you look at the Utica play in Quebec you have to keep a number of things in perspective. There is gas all over the place there, so it’s not a question of is there or isn’t there gas on a particular companies property. It’s more a matter of how much is there, is it economical to recover and how long will it take to get?

Some of the things to look at from a geological standpoint are the TOC (total organic content), the thermal maturity, porosity, sealing mechanism, depth of shale, pocket forming structures or ripples and natural fracturing.

If any of these things are not in the right ratio then the costs per cubic foot (cf) of gas goes up. You might ask “what’s the right ratio?” and the answer is that nobody really knows, they just use comparisons to characteristics of other gas bearing areas to help guide them. Over time though they have nailed down some minimums and maximums. If you don’t have enough or too much then the probability is that you’re not going to have as much gas to extract, it’s going to cost you more to get out or it’s going to take an extended period of time to come out of the rock.

When you look at the QEC land mass, it keeps being referred to as “in the fairway.” An easier way to view it is that the more of the ratios of all the things you need are in good proportion to other fields that are already producing in areas.

Page 13 and 14 of the QEC presentation shows the fairway and geological structures well. You can see the Logan’s line, shale Zero line, a good seal on the shale and natural fracturing.

      http://www.questerre.com/080415_QEC_Presentation.pdf

When you look at the rest of the companies in the area and their geographical position to the geological formations, their probability of the required ratios drops off pretty fast. Thermal maturity goes up as you move SE and the seal is significantly reduced. Junex has a lot of property in this area. As you head NW the thermal maturity goes down and you approach the Zero shale line. Move NE and the TOC drops off. Move SW and the land flattens out meaning less ridges in the shale to trap gas and less fracturing to help you get it out. As these characteristics change it means more wells to drill or lower (but typically longer) gas flows.

So when you sit down and compare the guys in the area, the best plays are ones where they have a large amount of the fairway and a large portion of their overall assets are here and not other areas meaning it will have a much larger effect on their SP. The main companies are QEC, Talisman, Gastem, Forest, and Junex. QEC is relatively small in the scope of things but has the vast majority of the fairway with all their partners, and it makes up a large percentage of their holdings. Gastem is partnered with Forest and QEC and has a small piece of the fairway. Forest is a much larger company and can only work the small Gastem/QEC piece. Talisman is large as well, and they are drilling to earn the working interest in the main QEC chunk. Junex has a very small piece of the fairway but 90% of their holdings in the area are on lower probability, costlier areas.

So from an SP appreciation standpoint QEC seems to be the big winner in the short term. Without doing more DD it’s hard to say if Gastem or Talisman would be the #2. Longer term, Junex would still be good because they do have a large holding of land in the area but it won’t be as economical. Overall this makes up a small percent of Forest’s holding and future production so I would actually avoid them even though they’re getting all the press right now.

      Thoughts and comments welcome.

Interesante Meinung. Scheint in letzter Zeit nichts viel los.

"I think the hangup is basically that you're looking for what is basically a new basin discovery. Not a new field discovery or a new play, but a new basin. I can't remember what the last new basin discovery in Canada was -- I suspect it was Hibernia by Petro-Canada. For a junior to make a new basin discovery, I don't know if that happens in too many careers. That's why one of my board members says it's like winning the lottery".

THE QUESTERRE ENERGY CORP--- NEWS ITEM:

Quebec sales pitch pays off for Calgary's Questerre
Natural gas find makes for hot resource play
      Shaun Polczer, Calgary Herald
      Published: Friday, June 27, 2008

Questerre Energy Corp. is an overnight success story more than a decade in the making.

But after Colorado-based Forest Oil announced a major gas discovery in the Utica shales of the St. Lawrence lowlands of Quebec, the company's shares have quadrupled, making it the newest member of the billion-dollar club in terms of market capitalization.

Forest's announcement was quickly followed by Talisman Energy, which said it will spend more than $400 million developing unconventional resource plays, including an extensive farm-out with Questerre on the Quebec lands.

Suddenly shale is hot rock, with major discoveries popping up in British Columbia, Saskatchewan and even Alberta.

For Michael Binnion, a fifth-generation Calgarian who has spent his entire career in the oilpatch, it's been 15 long years of pounding the pavement trying to convince a notoriously cautious industry to drill in an unlikely location -- Montreal.

After gaining some hard won recognition, Binnion made his first presentation to the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers' annual investment symposium, rubbing shoulders alongside the likes of EnCana and Canadian Natural Resources.

The Herald had a chance to talk with him on the sidelines of the exclusive event.

Q: For years Questerre was a penny stock. Have you had more institutional interest in the company?

A: Yes lots more. Since April 1, I'd bet that 25 per cent of our shares have been taken up by institutions since then, and that includes hedge funds, which tend to be more active traders.

Q: You've been trying to sell the idea of gas in Quebec for at least a decade. What's changed?

A: It's the gas price going up. It makes us all look smart. All of a sudden we're all geniuses.

Q: Is there a worry that shale is the flavour of the day, like coal bed methane was two years ago?

A: A lot of it is price sensitive.

You know, oilsands is very capital intensive, all of these resource plays are capital intensive.

If we see gas prices go back to six dollar (per gigajoule) we're going to see all these capital-intensive plays get scaled back and shale gas is no exception -- no better, no worse.

      Q: Why Quebec?

A: The key thing is if you can find gas where people want it. There's probably no better place in the world to find gas than Quebec being right outside Montreal given that it's right across the border from New York state. Unless you could find it right outside Tokyo. Quebec is one of the last places anyone would think to look.

Q: Was it hard to convince the big oil companies to drill there?

A: Well, nearly impossible but not quite impossible. We negotiated with Talisman for probably three years before we finally got a deal with them. And they said: "it looks interesting, we're interested but we're not sure management will approve it, stay in touch" -- that sort of thing. This was a signoff by (former CEO Jim) Buckee, it was a signoff at the highest levels.

      Q: What was the hangup?

A: I think the hangup is basically that you're looking for what is basically a new basin discovery. Not a new field discovery or a new play, but a new basin. I can't remember what the last new basin discovery in Canada was -- I suspect it was Hibernia by Petro-Canada. For a junior to make a new basin discovery, I don't know if that happens in too many careers. That's why one of my board members says it's like winning the lottery.

Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corporation
      (`Questerre` or the `Company`) (OSE,TSX:QEC)
announced today that the operator has commenced work
on the first horizontal well on the Yamaska permits
in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, Quebec.

The operations involve re-entering the existing St.
Louis de Richelieu well and drilling a horizontal
leg. This well was drilled last summer with Gastem
Inc. as operator targeting the Utica shale horizon.
Subject to the final drilling results, the well will
      be fracture stimulated and tested.

Just wanted to share this statement from Pareto Securities in Norway as of june 24, 2008 about QEC. In the statement they comment on the decline in share prices since june 2nd in regards to their own analysis of QEC.

      5 NOK = 1 CAD

QEC is down 40% from the top at NOK 30.5 on June 2nd
This has been a period without any fundamental news flow on the Quebec shale discovery
On the graph below, the QEC development is shown compared to Gastem, Junex and Altai who are other juniors with exposure to the discovery
All these shares have fallen in line with QEC, and as such it is a sector fall and not something specific for QEC
Our view on the stock is unchanged - the valuation risk/reward is extremely attractive
Based on the resource figures from Talisman/Forest Oil, we arrive at an unrisked value of around NOK 200 per share (roughly 50/50 on Utica and Lorraine)
Based on a 30% risk factor on Utica and 10% risk factor on Lorraine, we get a Target Price of NOK 40 per share
We believe both the unrisked estimate figure of NOK 200 per share and the risk factors of 30% and 10% are conservative as 1) according to Questerre, Talisman/Forest have used conservative figures on resource potential guidance compared to data collected from historical wells 2) The historical wells in the area show a relatively uniform and uncomplicated shale section between Logans line and the Yamaska fault, where the majority of QEC's acreage lies --> this means there is a high probability the shales can be produced commercially on most of QEC's acreage, and that the risk factors will go up as more drilling results come in
The two factors in combination means we can most likely increase our Target Price a lot by the end of the year (when more drilling results are ready), probably towards NOK 80-100 per share and potentially up to NOK 150-200 per share
We expect the next news flow to be start of Forest Oil's first horizontal well in July, and results on this well in August. Thereafter Talisman starts their first well in September, with results in October
Before the end of the year, the two companies will probably have drilled some 4-5 wells, and another ~15 wells before the end of 2009, all on acreage where Questerre participates. Talisman's and Forest Oil's strong commitment to the discovery (together investing ~$200m over next 18 months) indicates that these companies think there is a high chance this will be proved up as a huge discovery
Conclusion: continue to BUY shares! The share price is hard to predict in the short term as long as we are in a period without newsflow for some weeks now, but the valuation is extremely attractive
      .

      Hallo,

      St. Lawrence Lowlands, Quebec

Notwithstanding the non-commercial test rates, the discovery well, Gentilly #1, was an important technical
success substantiating our exploration model for the Trenton Black-River ("TBR") in the Lowlands.
Based on the well results, together with Talisman we reprocessed and interpreted existing seismic data over
two of our other TBR prospects, Duchene and Yamaska.Talisman subsequently elected to acquire additional
data over these prospects and completed the 2-D seismic acquisition program in early 2008.
Our technical work over the last three years has identified several different TBR prospects, including those
analogous to TBR reservoirs in Ontario and the Appalachian basin. We expect that future wells will target
these different prospects to expand our knowledge of the play in the Lowlands. Of interest, the Gentilly #1
well was designed to test multiple prospects but its primary target was a deeper anticline structure and so
it was not optimally located to test a TBR prospect.
      2 QUESTERRE ENERGY CORPORATION
Gentilly #1 also provided valuable data on the Lorraine and Utica shales, the other zone of interest in
the Lowlands. Extensive core studies and other technical work completed by Talisman support this
prospectivity. Drilling activity in 2008 will be important to validate the shale gas plays in Quebec.
Interest in the unconventional shale gas potential of the Lowlands appears to be growing. Our partner,
Gastem spud two wells on the Yamaska acreage primarily targeting the shale sequences. An analysis of the
core data led Forest Oil to elect to stimulate and test the wells. We believe these results will provide the
impetus for further work, including possibly additional shale gas wells this year.
The unconventional shale gas in Quebec could have significant potential exceeding the potential of the TBR.
A recent report published by Canada's largest E&P company indicates the discovered shale resource in the
Lowlands could range between 35 Tcf – 163 Tcf with an estimated 24 Tcf recoverable. Based on this report
the Lowlands has the potential to rival the biggest shale gas plays in North America.
      Antler, Saskatchewan
The acquisition of Magnus Energy Inc. gave us a land base of over 80 gross square miles in the Antler area
for the emerging Bakken/Torquay light oil play.
The opportunity at Antler lies in maximizing the recovery factor of the oil in place. Based on the success of
other operators in the area, we believe that horizontal wells and selective fracture stimulation could play a
vital role in developing this acreage. Current estimates of recoverable reserves are between 70,000 and
90,000 barrels per unstimulated horizontal well and represent a recovery factor of 8-10%.
To date, we have participated in the drilling of seven (4.5 net) horizontal wells. We recently fracture
stimulated two of the wells. The preliminary results are consistent with other operators and could result in
stabilized rates of double to triple the original rate and ultimate recoveries 20% – 50% higher. Subject to
the final results from these wells, we will evaluate drilling additional wells on this land after spring breakup
      in 2008.
      Northeast British Columbia
      Greater Sierra

The Greater Sierra project was the second new project we added in 2007.
The partnership with EnCana, the established nature of the Jean Marie resource play, and the multiple
secondary targets made this a natural addition to our portfolio.
In December, we farmed-in on a portion of EnCana's extensive land holdings in region. Leveraging our
experience operating in this area, we successfully drilled two horizontal wells this winter targeting natural
gas in the Jean Marie formation and placed them on production in early 2008.To earn our 50% interest in
52 sections, we also financed the acquisition of a 46 square mile 3-D to identify drilling locations for the
      following winter season.
We are very excited about this new project and believe the 3-D survey will identify multiple locations for the
coming years. We are also hopeful this will lead to further joint venture opportunities with EnCana.
      2007 ANNUAL REPORT 3
      Beaver River Field
The positive developments at our other projects were offset by the results from the Beaver River Field.
We were unable to replicate the successful results from the producing A-2 well. Though neither of the two
wells — A-7 and B-3 — had access to the same Mattson interval producing in the A-2 well, we expected
that the other prospective intervals could produce similar results.Three different stimulation techniques were
evaluated and the results were less than predicted.
The A-8 Nahanni well was a disappointment for us, representing the culmination of six years' technical work.
Despite these results, we were quite successful in mitigating the financial impact of this well. Over 80% of
our share of the well costs was funded by the $10 million payment received from our partner to complete
      their earn-in obligations.
There remains significant gas in place and potential at Beaver River. However, in light of current economics
and the higher risk profile we currently do not plan to drill additional wells at Beaver River.
      Southern & Central Alberta
Our original development plans for Vulcan in 2007 included the drilling of four horizontal wells into the
      Mannville I Pool.
Drilling was subsequently postponed while the operator finalized its Good Production Practice Plan ("GPP")
that included a secondary recovery scheme. With a change in operator during the third quarter, a new GPP
plan, that did not necessitate a secondary recovery scheme, was completed and submitted for regulatory
approval. We expect to receive this approval in late 2008. In the interim, we spud our first horizontal well in
December. The well should be completed in the second quarter of 2008.
We made some headway in expanding our acreage in Vulcan through a farm-in and participation agreement. A
total of three wells were drilled resulting in two (0.66 net) successful gas wells and one (0.33 net) dry and
abandoned well. The two gas wells discovered new smaller pools and we have identified four follow-on locations.
We have put our smaller non-core areas including Westlock on the market and hope to sell them in 2008.

Baillieu Research Report compares Molopo's Utica Shales to Woodford Shale

BP buys shale gas acreage from Chesapeake Energy for US$1.75 billion â??
      by Ivor Ries Baillieu Stockbroking
      Valuation implications for Molopo Australia

Global oil giant BP plc has purchased 90,000 acres of shale gas lands in the Arkoma Basin, Oklahoma, from shale gas giant Chesapeake Energy Corp for US$1.75 billion in cash. The bid would appear to set a new all-time high for a price paid for shale gas acreage, coming in at US$19,400 per acre and around US$80-88 cents for Gas In Place (GIP). Coming just one day after Shell launched a C$5.9 billion friendly takeover bid for Canadian shale gas producer Duvernay Oil, the BP bid highlights how global oil and gas majors are scrambling to catch up in the market for unconventional (coal seam and shale) gas reserves ahead of a tight global market for gas over the next 20 years.
The move of both BP and Shell into the shale gas space is enormously encouraging for Molopo Australia, the largest owner of shale gas exploration leases in Canada's Utica Basin, located in the St Lawrence River valley between Montreal and Quebec. Molopo owns 2.1 million acres of shale gas exploration lease.

The Woodford shales of the Arkoma Basin range in thickness from 50 metres to 300 metres, much thinner than the 300-900 metre thickness of the Utica and Lorraine shale formations of the St Lawrence region, and the gas content of the Utica shales appear to be significantly higher than the Woodford shales. However the Woodford shales are well understood and have been in production for many years. The largest land holder and gas producer in the Woodford shales, Newfield Exploration (NFX) has a market capitalisation of US$7.1 billion.

All shale gas fields are different. Gas in place per tonne of shale, gas recovery rates, shale permeability, and the capital costs of extraction vary extensively from area to area so direct comparisons are not always possible. And it is noted that the two most recent shale gas field at high values have involved fields which were are nearing peak production rates and thus produce significant amounts of free cash flow.
However the Shell-Duvernay and BP-Chesapeake transactions highlight the enormous value that is created by converting a potential shale gas field into a producing field. Currently the Utica Basin shale sector is capitalised at US$11.5 billion, or roughly $1,700 per acre, due to the field's early stage of development. Although Forest Oil has proven the Utica Basin's commercial production potential (two wells flowing more than one million cubic feet per day), commercial production of gas is unlikely for the next 12-18 months. Once commercial production commences, we would expect Utica Basin shale gas acreage values to increase.

Using valuation yardsticks of 10-12 cents per gigajoule of gas in place inside the Thermogenic line in Quebec (near the Forest wells) and 5-6 cents per gigajoule of gas in place inside the Thrust Zone (to the eastern side of the basin), we estimate that Molopo's Canadian acreage would have a market value of $1.25 to $2.15 per share.

If Molopo is successful in converting its acreage into productive fields the valuation yardsticks of the BP-Chesapeake transaction (80-88 cents/Gj/GIP), then the value of Molopo's acreage has the potential to reach a value of $3.49 to $6.00 per share.

Questerre Energy Corporation: Gentilly Well to Be Recompleted for Shale Gas
      CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - July 30, 2008) -

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION ON U.S. NEWSWIRE SERVICES OR FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES

Questerre Energy Corporation ("Questerre" or the "Company") (TSX:QEC)(OSLO:QEC) announced that the operator, Talisman Energy Canada ("Talisman"), confirmed that field work is underway on a re-completion of the Gentilly #1 well.

The Gentilly #1 well will be fracture stimulated in several intervals prospective for shale gas. Following the stimulations, an extensive testing program will be conducted. The object of the program is to assess the potential commerciality of vertical well completions in this thick shale package. The original discovery in the Trenton Black-River zone in this well has been suspended on a temporary basis during this operation.

The operator also confirmed it is mobilizing a rig to the Lowlands and the next well on Questerre's acreage is scheduled to spud by mid-August.

Michael Binnion, President and Chief Executive Officer of Questerre, commented, "We are very pleased to be participating on a joint venture basis with Talisman on this operation. This re-entry operation has allowed us to accelerate the pilot program to evaluate the shale gas potential in the Lowlands."

Questerre is a Calgary-based independent resource company actively engaged in the exploration, development and acquisition of high-impact exploration and development oil and gas projects in Canada.

Actual results could differ materially as a result of changes in the Company's plans, commodity prices, equipment availability, general economic, market, regulatory and business conditions as well as production, development and operating performance and other risks associated with oil and gas operations. There is no guarantee made by the Company that the actual results achieved will be the same as those forecasted herein.

Barrel of oil equivalent ("boe") amounts may be misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A boe conversion ratio has been calculated using a conversion rate of six thousand cubic feet of natural gas to one barrel and is based on an energy equivalent conversion method application at the burner tip and does not necessarily represent an economic value equivalent at the wellhead.

2Q08 Preview - Horizontal well currently drilling in Quebec

Shale news flow coming up: Forrest oil currently drilling horizontal well, Talisman to start fracking an old well and spud its first new well in August. STRONG BUY recommendation & NOK 40 TP reiterated

Questerre is expected to release their 2Q08 earnings report after the market closes August 12th
We expect EBITDA to come in at CADm 4.6, up from CADm 2.1 last quarter driven by increased production and higher oil & gas prices
Production for the 2nd quarter is estimated to 1,400 boe/day, somewhat higher than last quarter at 1,274 boe/day
The main focus however, will be on the shale gas discovery in Quebec where the activity level has picked up significantly and news flow is approaching
Forrest oil, which announced the Utica shale discovery this spring, is currently drilling their first of 3-4 planned horizontal wells in the area
Forrest oil will probably drill all the wells before they announce the results in 4Q. Focus will be on flow rates which will give us more information regarding the commerciality of the play
Talisman, that has committed $100-130m in Quebec, has speeded up its drilling schedule and will now spud the first well mid-August vs earlier plans of September. Results expected in October
Additionally, Talisman has decided to frack the Gentilly #1 well in the shale sections. This is particularly interesting as the well is located far away from the Forrest discovery well and will as such provide information on the shale uniformity
The fracking is scheduled to commence very soon and we expect results August or September
With respect to the amount of upcoming newsflow, the potentially huge gas discovery will regain its attention and we expect the QEC share to perform well going forward
STRONG BUY recommendation and NOK 40 TP reiterated
The recommendation was not presented to the issuer before dissemination

      Beaver River gibts auch noch!

Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corp announced
today that joint operations are under way with its
partner Transeuro to further test the deeper shale`s
in the Liard basin within the Company`s Beaver River
acreage. These shale`s are Mississippian in age and
are located approximately 100 km to the East of the
      Horn River shale play.

Michael Binnion commented `We have great control of
land and infrastructure in this area. Expertise we
have gained from our Quebec shale play has allowed
us to re-evaluate our past efforts. We believe we
have developed a predictive model which allows us to
better target our completions to productive shale`s.
The very high gas in place numbers and promising
production results from our two earlier wells in the
Liard shale`s make this test very interesting.`

There are two existing producing tight gas/shale gas
wells (A2 and A7) which Transeuro and Questerre both
have 50% ownership and that Questerre has operated
for over two years with relatively low decline
rates. Compression was recently added to A2 with
very promising initial results. Production from the
A2 increased to over 4.0 mmcf per day which is near
its original peak production rate of 4.5mm per day.
The continued good production performance of these
shallower wells together with recent work by QEC and
Transeuro indicate there is also strong potential
for the deeper Devonian shale`s. Gas in place
numbers for this area for the Mississippian
siltstone/shale sequence are confirmed at over 1 tcf
per section based on independent word by Nederland
and Sewel. The Company has a 50% interest in 35
sections with take away capacity in place.

The current operation is a re-entry of the A5 well.
Three intervals will be perforated and minor
stimulations will be conducted to evaluate reservoir
and rock mechanical properties prior to an inflow
test. The gross thickness of these prospective
deeper shale`s that are confirmed with good gas
shows is in excess of 500m and these tests will
assist in identifying the net productive reservoir
intervals. If the results of the inflow tests are
promising a full stimulation will be carried out in
a future operation to test for commercial flow rates.

      • BP acquires 135,000 acres of the Fayette shale in Arkensas from Chesapeake
      • Acquisition price is USDbn 1.9  USD 14,000/acre. In comparison, QEC is valued at $1,600/acre
      • The Fayette shales is currently producing and is thereby more mature than QEC’s shale in Quebec

03/09-2008 00:12:08: (QEC) Questerre announces successful Shale Gas Test from Gentilly-Well in Quebec ***
CALGARY, ALBERTA - Questerre Energy Corporation
(`Questerre` or the `Company`) (TSX: QEC) (OSLO:
QEC) today announced interim results from the
recompletion of it`s Gentilly shale gas well in the
St. Lawrence Lowlands of Quebec. The well flowed
more than 800,000 cubic feet per day on a sustained
basis. This was from one set of stimulated
perforations in the Utica shale only.

The well, which is a re-entry to a previously
drilled Trenton-Black River well, was tested in
early August in the Utica formation. The well was
subsequently tested for 18 days. At the shut-in
point, the well was still cleaning up and pressures
and flow rates were constant or slightly increasing.
Approximately one-half of the fracture stimulation
water has been recovered to date.

Questerre CEO Michael Binnion commented, `This is an
excellent result for a vertical frac, especially
given that only one set of perforations was
stimulated.` Mr. Binnion continued, `There is
obviously a lot more work to do and it will take
time for final results to come in; however, initial
results continue to meet or exceed our expectations.`

Based on the promising results of the tests, the
project`s joint venture partner Talisman Energy Inc.
(`Talisman`) agreed to add another frac to the
testing program. This second fracture stimulation
is now underway. Following an evaluation of the
results of the second fracture stimulation, two
additional fracs of the Lorraine shale will be
conducted. Results of these Lorraine tests are
      expected in the fourth quarter.

The Lorraine shale sits on top of the Utica and can
be up to 6,500 feet thick. The Utica shale ranges
between 300 and 1,000 feet. Early indications show
that both the Lorraine and Utica rocks are thick,
porous and appear brittle and over pressured, all of
which are conducive to artificial fracture stimulation.

Questerre and Talisman are considering an increase
in the capital allocated to completing, testing and
evaluating the well. The joint venture partners are
also considering the possibility of accelerating or
      increasing the pilot program.

As the first company to acquire leases in this play,
Questerre has secured a more than 830,000-acre
(gross) position in the sweet spot of the Utica
Shale. Questerre also applies its shale gas
expertise to shale gas properties in British Columbia.

Calgary, Alberta - Questerre Energy Corporation
(`Questerre` or the `Company`) reported today that
the A-5 shale gas well began a long-term production
test at the Beaver River Field in British Columbia.

Michael Binnion, President and Chief Executive
Officer of Questerre, commented, `This well was an
unexpected success and we look forward to long-term
production results to confirm the viability of
shale production. The existing infrastructure puts
us in the enviable position of making positive cash
flow from an early-stage shale pilot project.`

The tie-in of this well was completed in late
November following receipt of regulatory approval.
Current production is at a facility constrained
      rate of 5.0 mmcf/d (833 boe/d) with an initial
flowing tubing pressure of 25 mpa (3700 psi).
Overall production increases at Beaver River will
likely be limited as the existing shale wells, A-2
and A-7, produce at a significantly lower flowing
pressure and short-term production declines from A-
      5 are expected.

      A-5 is currently producing from a carbonate-rich
sequence in the shale zones at Beaver River.
Questerre believes this sequence could provide a
pathway for gas from a deeper organic-rich shale
interval. Based on final results, Questerre will
evaluate two additional re-completion candidates to
further pilot test this new shale play. Questerre
and its partner hold a joint interest in over
23,000 acres prospective for this play.

With regard to recent announcements by its partner
regarding their financial situation, the Company
believes the ongoing production and resulting
revenue from Beaver River will be sufficient to
repay any outstanding amounts and finance their
ongoing obligations under the operating agreement
which are secured by an operator`s lien.

Questerre is a Calgary-based independent resource
company actively engaged in the exploration,
      development and acquisition of high-impact
exploration and development oil and gas projects in
      Canada.

      This news release contains forward-looking
information. Implicit in this information are
      assumptions regarding commodity pricing,
production, royalties and expenses, that, although
considered reasonable by the Company at the time of
preparation, may prove to be incorrect. These
forward-looking statements are based on certain
assumptions that involve a number of risks and
uncertainties and are not guarantees of future
performance. Actual results could differ materially
as a result of changes in the Company`s plans,
      commodity prices, equipment availability, general
      economic, market, regulatory and business
conditions as well as production, development and
operating performance and other risks associated
with oil and gas operations. There is no guarantee
made by the Company that the actual results
achieved will be the same as those forecasted
      herein.

Barrel of oil equivalent (`boe`) amounts may be
misleading, particularly if used in isolation. A
boe conversion ratio has been calculated using a
conversion rate of six thousand cubic feet of
natural gas to one barrel of oil and is based on an
energy equivalent conversion method application at
the burner tip and does not necessarily represent
an economic value equivalent at the wellhead.

2 CAD-Marke überschritten, in Oslo schon mal wieder intraday

Hegnar meldet: Qec-Direktor verkauft 1/3 seiner Aktien!!!

      http://rigzone.com/news/article.asp?a_id=80288&hmpn=1

      The Utica - Qec
The Utica – An Emerging Canadian Shale Gas Play

As a general rule, the most successful man in life is the man who has the best information

      The Utica

The Utica is Canada’s newest shale play and has relatively few players. The Utica shale gas play covers an area of approximately 5,000 square kilometers and runs along Quebec Canada’s St. Lawrence River shoreline in the St. Lawrence Lowlands. The heart of the Utica Shale trend in Quebec is massive, bounded by the Yamaska Fault to the north-east, which roughly follows the St. Lawrence river through this area, and the Logans Line fault system to the south-west. The plays Fairway extends along the St. Lawrence from roughly Montreal to Quebec City covering an area of over 1.1 million acres or roughly 2,400 square miles. Drilling depths vary from 800 to 2,500 meters with shale thickness ranging between 75 and 300 meters.

Industry experts peg total recoverable resources from 5 to 25 trillion cubic feet (TCF). Forest Oil believes there is upwards of 4 TCF of potential recoverable resources on just their lands - average gas-in-place is 93 billion cubic feet (BCF) per section, a recovery factor of 15% (this number could grow with advancements in drilling and fracturing technology) would yield 14 BCF of recoverable gas per square mile.

Current proved Canadian natural gas reserves are 58 TCF – so the Utica play could hold between 10 – 30% of Canada’s gas reserves. Obviously the Utica Shale gas play has the potential to develop into something very special.

Consider also that Utica gas is within 400 miles of the New York City Market – unused export capacity to the US on TransCanada Corp’s pipeline system is 200 – 400 mmcf a day, and Quebec uses 500 billion cubic feet per year of natural gas, all of it coming from Alberta.

The best leverage for investors could lie with those junior oil and gas companies who have amassed large exploration permits in the St Lawrence Lowlands right in the heart of the Utica fairway.

Altai Resources Inc. ATI – TSX.v 100% owner of the Sorel-Trois Rivières natural gas property, 114,344 hectares (282,544 acres). Altai also retains a 15% gross royalty in the adjoining permit of 13,290 hectares (32,840 acres) held by Talisman Energy Canada.

Canadian Quantum Energy Corp. CQM – TSX.v has interests in four key permits comprising approximately 170,000 gross acres / 35,000 net acres in the heart of the identified Utica’s Fairway. CQM participated with its' partners, Talisman Energy and Questerre Energy, in the recent, very significant Gentilly discovery well and is participating in the drilling of the Gentilly #2HZ well. CQM also has 50% partnership and joint operations with Junex on the 54,600 acre Nicolet Permit, also in the heart of the Utica Fairway.

In November of 2009 the company obtained shareholder and regulatory approval to effect a 4 x 1 forward split of its shares which resulted in there now being 24,581,776 shares being issued and outstanding, 57% insider ownership.

Netherland, Sewell and Associates Inc., a world renowned Texas based engineering firm, are preparing an engineering report, due the end of January 2010, that will cover Canadian Quantum’s 50% interest in the Nicolet Permit. Netherland Sewell was previously commissioned to do an engineering report on Questerre’s Utica Shale properties.

Epsilon Energy Ltd. EPS – TSX Has an elective participating interest of up to 25% in a portion of Gastem, Inc.’s (TSXV: GMR) leasehold acreage in the St. Lawrence Lowlands (covering Utica shale and Trenton-Black River targets). EPS went non-consent on the first two exploratory wells drilled within the Yamaska project but has decided to participate in the next well.

Gastem Inc. GMR – TSX.v Holds exploration, storage permits and rights to 3,135 km² in the St. Lawrence Lowlands, the Gaspe Peninsula and the Magdalen Islands in Quebec as well as rights and interests in New York State and in Appalachia.

Junex Inc. JNX – TSX.v Holds rights for more than 6 million acres under exploration permits located in the Appalachian Basins in Quebec. These rights are shared out between the St-Lawrence Lowlands and Gaspésie areas and includes some licenses in which Junex only holds a royalty on the future production of hydrocarbons. Junex holds more than 1.1 million net acres in the Utica region.

Petrolympic Ltd. PCQ-TSX.v Holdings in the St. Lawrence Lowlands include a 30% interest in 673,021 acres (272,362hectares). This is through a joint venture with Ressource & Energie Squatex Inc.

Questerre Energy Corp. QEC – TSX Over 1 million gross acres (0.34 million net) in the Utica/Lorraine shale gas play.

      Conclusion

There is a lot of work being done today, in the Utica, to answer the question - are the all-in costs of drilling, completing and fracing horizontal wells going to be economic/will the upcoming results support further development of this play? If upcoming results indicate robust economics then ladies and gentlemen we just might have one of the largest resource plays in Canada happening in the most perfectly situated place for one to happen.

Quebec’s Utica shale gas play should be on investors radar screens for all the right reasons, is it on yours?

      Hi lale 93,

      Schönes WE

Was dann wohl mit QEC passiert:confused:

Dabei kommt dann erst richtig Musik rein.

      23/02-2010 05:10:29: (QEC) February 23, 2010 - Utica well tests at 12 MMcf/d
Calgary, Alberta -- Questerre Energy Corporation
("Questerre" or the "Company") (TSX,OSE:QEC) is
pleased to report on the test results from the St.
Edouard No. 1A horizontal well in the St. Lawrence
      Lowlands, Quebec.

The horizontal well was successfully completed with 8
stage fracture stimulations. Clean-up and flow back
commenced January 29, 2010. Initial rates were over 12
MMcf/d. During the test, the well flowed natural gas
at an average rate of over 6 MMcf/d.

The well is currently still flowing on an extended
production test. The current rate is approximately 5
MMcf/d at a flowing tubing pressure of 4412 kPa (640
psi) with a choke size of 5/8 inch.

Michael Binnion, President and Chief Executive Officer
of Questerre, commented, "This first horizontal result
      is simply excellent!"

During the completion, microseismic data was gathered
using the St. Edouard No. 1 vertical well as a
monitoring well. Preliminary analysis indicates the
fracs were successful in stimulating sufficient rock
volume in the entire Utica sequence.

Mr. Binnion added, "The initial rates from St. Edouard
exceed our internal threshold for commercial
production on a per well basis based on targeted
      development costs."

The Company and the operator are evaluating pipeline
options to tie-in the St. Edouard location.

company focused on shale gas in North America. The
Company is concentrated on establishing commerciality
