New Geological Model of Interest at Gossan's Bird River Property

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 19, 2006) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; Frankfurt/Freiverkehr:GSR) is pleased to report on a new geological model with significant economic considerations for its Bird River Sill Property. The theory which postulates a new magmatic model for the emplacement of the Chrome, Page, Peterson and the National-Ledin Blocks of the Bird River Sill (BRS) is one of the recent findings of the Joint Industry-Government-University Mapping Program of the Bird River Sill. The new model was developed by Caroline Mealin B.Sc. under the supervision of Robert Linnen, PhD., and Shoufa Lin, PhD., all of the University of Waterloo.

Shoufa Lin commented, "Caroline Mealin's alternative model for the segmentation of the blocks of the Bird River Sill is a highlight of this year's research. The various, often very visible, variation in magmatic characters from east to west along the Page Block are highly supportive of this new model."

Ryan Cooke, P.Geo., Gossan's Qualified Person for the Bird River Property explained "This new magmatic model developed by Caroline Mealin has important economic considerations in that the feeder system for the Page, Peterson and Chrome Blocks may be located at the western end of the Page Block. This area and its related faults provide an ideal location for the investigation of economic concentrations of nickel, copper and PGEs."

The two drilling programs which were conducted on Gossan's Bird River Property in 2005-2006, primarily focused on the eastern portions of the Page Block. Ironically, although high priority drill targets were identified and scheduled for drilling at the western end of the Page Block, last winter's late freeze-up made it impractical to drill at these locations. At the eastern end of the Page Block the best drill intersection was from hole BR-05-02 that intersected 13.75 metres of 1.077% nickel and 0.501% copper including 4.75 metres grading 2.143% nickel, 0.440% copper, and 1.52gpt combined precious metals. Management believes that future exploration on the property will be significantly affected by Mealin's new theory.

Previous studies have treated the BRS as a single continuous intrusion that was block faulted. This summer's mapping program, in conjunction with total field magnetics, failed to find any evidence to support the existence of these faults. Accordingly an alternative theory is proposed for the segmentation of the blocks of the BRS, based on field observations and preliminary geochemical interpretation. The blocks of the BRS are best explained if there were initially separate magmatic intrusions (i.e., the BRS does not represent a single, continuous intrusion). A preliminary magmatic model for the emplacement of the Chrome, Page, Peterson and National- Ledin Blocks is presented at www.gossan.ca/jigu.pdf in Figure 10. According to this model, the properties were fed from a large, primitive mantle-derived, lower magma chamber. It is proposed that the Page, Peterson and Chrome Blocks are separate intrusions but part of a single conduit system. The Page intrusion, stratigraphically the lowest chamber, was first to crystallize and form massive chromite layers. At least one successive injection of magma broke up part of the chromite layers producing chromite 'pebbles'. The larger pebbles remained close to the feeder dyke and the smaller chromite pebbles were deposited stratigraphically on top of existing chromite layers further east on the Page Block becoming rounded and partially resorbed in the process. A successive magma pulse, either the same or following the injection that produced the chromite pebbles, was injected into the stratigraphically higher chamber of the Chrome Block carrying clasts from the Page Block and depositing them near the feeder dyke in the eastern edge of the Chrome property. The magma remained relatively uncontaminated as it moved through the conduit system.

Currently, there are no whole rock analyses of the Peterson or National-Ledin Blocks and surface exposure is poor. It can only be hypothesized that the Peterson Block is a small, separate offshoot of the feeder dyke between the Chrome and Page Blocks. It is also hypothesized that the National-Ledin Block shares the same lower magma chamber as the other three intrusions.

The relevant field observations focus primarily on the Page Block. Chromite mineralization on the Page Block is similar to that of the Chrome Block hosting massive chromitite seams, chromitiferous peroditite layers and 'disrupted' chromitite layers. However, the Page Block also contains chromite 'pebbles' located stratigraphically above the chromite seams in the east end of the property but in the west end the chromite 'pebbles' are present at various stratigraphic levels, within the ultramfic unit, between 'disrupted' and massive chromitite seams. Additional east to west trends on the Page Block exhibited by the chromite pebbles include: an increase in size from a few millimetres up to approximately 15 cm (Figures 4a, b and c); an increase in angularity from rounded to subrounded (Figure 4d); and a decrease in chromite content as pebbles observed in the eastern end of the property are chromitite (greater than 85% chromite) but towards the west, in addition to the chromitite pebbles, chromitiferous pebbles (less than 85% chromite) are also present (Figure 4c). Gossan Returns Alto-Gardnar Property

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 19, 2006) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; Frankfurt/Freiverkehr:GSR) has returned the original 336-hectare Alto-Gardnar Property to its optionors. The Property which is prospective for gold and comprised of two claim blocks is located in the Sandybeach Lake area, 37-kms east of Dryden, Ontario.

Gossan undertook a field program at the original 336-hectare property this past summer, stripping a 10-metre wide shear zone over a 300+ metre length. The shear zone was geologically mapped and extensively channel sampled. Assaying was untaken using two methods. Although gold mineralization was intermittently present, no zones in width or grade were found to be of economic interest. Regrettably, these results were subsequently confirmed below surface in three short small-core drill holes. Gossan retains the second 800-hectare block comprising the Alto-Gardnar Property which is located on strike about 1-km to the southwest.

Gossan Awards Incentive Stock Options

Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE: GSS)(Frankfurt/Freiverkehr:GSR) has awarded 350,000 incentive stock options exercisable at $0.32 per common share to officers and consultants of the Company. This grant of options is in compliance with the terms of the Company's Stock Option Plan however the award remains subject to the acceptance of the TSX Venture Exchange.

One officer was granted 150,000 options and a business consultant was granted 40,000 options, both for terms of 3.5 years. Gossan übt Option auf neues Magnesium-Gewinnungsverfahren aus WINNIPEG, MANITOBA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 19, 2007 -- Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE: GSS)(Frankfurt/Freiverkehr Xetra:GSR) hat einen Vorvertrag vereinbart, der den Kauf einer exklusiven 100%-Beteiligung an den weltweiten Rechten einer neuen Technologie zur Gewinnung von Magnesiummetall aus Dolomit vorsieht.

Der Vorvertrag definiert die Bedingungen für eine Lizenzvereinbarung für ein äußerst effizientes Verfahren zur Magnesiumgewinnung, das von Douglas J. Zuliani entwickelt wurde. Gossan kontrolliert große Lagerstätten mit hochgradigem Dolomit und Quarzsand in Manitoba (Kanada). Beide Rohstoffe werden in der Herstellung von Magnesiummetall verwendet. Zuliani (Ph.D.) promovierte an der Universität von Toronto im Fachbereich Metallurgie und ist seit über 20 Jahren in der Geschäftsentwicklung und im Bereich Magnesium-Technologie tätig. Zwischen 1985 und 2000 hatte er mehrere Leitungspositionen bei Timminco Ltd. inne, einem international renommierten Unternehmen, das sich auf die Gewinnung von hochreinem Magnesium spezialisiert und dabei das Pidgeon-Verfahren einsetzt, bei dem in einem silicothermischen Reduktionsverfahren das Magnesiummetall aus Briketts gewonnen wird, die Ferrosilicium und calcinierten Dolomit enthalten. Zuliani und Gossan begannen bereits Anfang 2004, gemeinsam an der Entwicklung eines neuen Verfahrens zur Magnesiumgewinnung zu arbeiten. Im Rahmen der bestehenden Vereinbarungen besitzt Gossan eine Option, die exklusiven weltweiten Rechte an dem Verfahren zu erwerben.

Es wird erwartet, dass die von Zuliani entwickelte Technologie eine Reduzierung der direkten Betriebskosten in der Gewinnung von Magnesiummetall von 25% gegenüber den Betriebskosten einer typischen chinesischen Anlage ermöglicht. China zeichnet derzeit für 80% der Weltproduktion von Magnesium verantwortlich und das in chinesischen Anlagen verwendete Pidgeon-Verfahren hat sich als Industriestandard durchgesetzt. Das neue Verfahren basiert auf einer effizienten Anpassung des ursprünglichen Pechiney- und Alcoa-Magnatherm-Verfahrens, das immer noch die einzige erfolgreiche und bewährte Hochtemperaturmethode zur Gewinnung von Magnesiummetall durch eine silicothermische Vakuumreduktion von magnesiumhaltiger Flüssigschlacke darstellt. Mithilfe eines verbesserten Magnatherm-Ansatzes kann das Verfahren billigen und reichlich vorhandenen Strom aus Wasserkraftwerken einsetzen, die in Manitoba die wichtigste Energiequelle darstellen.

Das Zuliani-Verfahren ist so ausgerichtet, dass deutliche Einsparungen bei den Betriebskosten erreicht werden sollen. Möglich ist dies durch die verbesserte Prozesseffizienz und die deutliche Reduzierung des Verbrauchs an Energie und wichtigen Rohstoffen. Diese Verbesserungen am traditionellen Magnatherm-Verfahren sollten zu erheblichen Steigerungen bei der Magnesium-Wiedergewinnung und der Silicon-Reduktionseffizienz führen und die Notwendigkeit einer Vakuumanwendung überflüssig machen. Der Energieverbrauch wird durch die Entwicklung einer technisch vereinfachten Methode ereicht, die eine äußerst wirkungsvolle Kondensation von flüssigem Magnesiummetall gewährleistet und das Schmelzen festen Magnesiums überflüssig macht. Letzteres war ein zentrales Problem sowohl im Pidgeon- als auch im Magnatherm-Verfahren. Das Zuliani-Verfahren kann für Verarbeitungsinkremente von 10.000 Tonnen pro Jahr kommerziell eingesetzt werden. Dies bedeutet, dass die anfänglichen Investitionsrisiken begrenzt sind und je nach Nachfrageentwicklung eine schrittweise Erweiterung der Produktionskapazität möglich ist.

Gossan führt ein dreistufiges Evaluierungsprogramm durch, um die Technologie vor ihrer Kommerzialisierung eingehend zu überprüfen. Zum Testen der Verfahrensgrundlagen wird eingangs eine thermodynamische Modellierung verwendet. In der zweiten Phase erfolgen abschließende Labortests, bevor in der dritten Phase anhand von Tests in einer Pilotanlage die wirtschaftliche Machbarkeit nachgewiesen werden soll. Gossan kann für die Tests in einer Pilotanlage und die spätere Kommerzialisierung des Verfahrens auch mit einem Joint Venture-Partner zusammenarbeiten.

Gossan führte im Mai 2006 ein Bohrprogramm mit 27 Bohrungen auf dem 1633 Hektar großen Inwood-Projekt durch. Diese Magnesium-Dolomit-Lagerstätte befindet sich etwa 80 km nördlich von Winnipeg. Die Geologen des Beratungsunternehmens Watts, Griffis and McOuat Limited (WGM) erstellten eine Reihe von Mineralressourcen-Schätzungen für hochreinen Dolomit in der Inwood-Lagerstätte. Derzeit arbeitet an der Endfassung eines Berichts gemäß National Instrument 43-101, der auf SEDAR veröffentlicht werden wird.

Eine Zusammenfassung der Ressourcenschätzung von WGM für zwei Zonen findet sich in der nachfolgenden Tabelle.

Die Inwood-Liegenschaft beherbergt eine große Lagerstätte, da bereits die Schätzwerte für gemessene Mineralressourcen eine große Förderanlage für 80.000 Tonnen Magnesium im Jahr für eine Zeitspanne von 35 Jahren auslasten würden (unter Vorbehalt einer positiven Machbarkeitsstudie).

Ryan Cooke (P.Geo.) ist als "Qualified Person" von Gossan mit der Überwachung des Inwood-Magnesium-Projekts beauftragt.

Der Vorvertrag sieht vor, dass Zuliani für das Recht zur Nutzung des Verfahrens in Manitoba folgende Leistungen erhält: jeweils 50.000 Stammaktien von Gossan bei Unterzeichnung der Vereinbarung, der Vorlage eines positiven Berichts über die Prozessmodellierung und der Vorlage eines positiven Berichts über die Labortests; eine Arbeitsverpflichtung zu Beginn der Labortests binnen 18 Monaten und der Tests in der Pilotanlage binnen 60 Monaten; und handelsübliche Beraterhonorare, von denen bereits einige vorab für bestimmte Komponenten der Evaluierung festgelegt wurden. Eine Erfolgsprämie von $50.000 würde zudem zum Start der Pilotanlagentests zahlbar. Ferner würden 1,5% bis 3,0% der Kapitalkosten (je nach Investitionen von Gossan in die Evaluierung des Verfahrens) zu Beginn des Baus einer Anlage zur kommerziellen Gewinnung von Magnesium zahlbar.

Die Vereinbarung sieht zudem vor, dass Gossan eine Option zum Erwerb einer 100%-Beteiligung an den exklusiven weltweiten Rechten an dieser Technologie erhält. Die Option wird für einen Zeitraum von 5 Jahren eingeräumt und setzt halbjährliche Zahlungen von $5.000 bis $12.500 voraus (in Abhängigkeit des Magnesiumpreises). Bei der Ausübung der Option würde zudem eine Summe in Höhe von $1.050.000 fällig. Das Offenhalten der Option bzw. die Ausübung der Option würde einen Teil oder alle Komponenten der Leistungen für die oben beschriebenen Nutzungsrechte in Manitoba aufheben. Die Transaktion unterliegt einer aufsichtsrechtlichen Genehmigung.

Douglas J. Zuliani gehörte von 2004 bis zum 5. März 2007 dem Vorstand an und brachte wertvolle Expertise aus der Magnesiumbranche in das Unternehmen ein. Zuliani wird das Unternehmen auch in Zukunft als Berater unterstützen.

Die US-Forschungsbehörde US Geological Survey schätzte die weltweite Primärproduktion von Magnesium auf 610.000 Tonnen im Jahr 2005. In den letzten 15 Jahren entwickelte sich China zum führenden Lieferanten von Magnesium mit einem Produktionsvolumen von 468.700 Tonnen im Jahr 2005. Magnesium kann unter Verwendung verschiedener Verfahren und Mitteln gewonnen werden. Magnesium wird vor allem bei Aluminiumlegierungen eingesetzt. Als Strukturmetall wird es mit Druckgußverfahren vor allem in der Automobilindustrie verwendet. Diese Anwendungsformen stellen auch den am stärksten wachsenden Bereich für Magnesiumlegierungen dar. Magnesium wird ferner zur Entschwefelung von Eisen und Stahl genutzt. Magnesium ist das leichteste der häufig verwendeten Metalle und kann bei Gussteilen und bearbeiteten Produkten bis zu einem bestimmten Grad als Aluminium- und Zinkersatz bzw. als Zusatzmetall eingesetzt werden. Der Preis für Magnesium tendierte im Verlauf des vergangenen Jahres fester und betrug Ende 2006 auf dem freien Markt in Kanada und Europa zwischen 2.000 US$ und 2.100 US$ pro metrischer Tonne. Die entsprechenden Preise in den USA schwankten zwischen 2.975 US$ und 3.200 US$ pro metrischer Tonne und lagen damit deutlich höher als in Kanada und Europa. Ursächlich für diese Entwicklung sind die sich verändernden US-Schutzzölle gegen bestimmte Produzenten aus China und Russland. Es wird erwartet, dass die Magnesiumpreise auf dem freien Markt und in den USA weiterhin fest tendieren werden, da aufgrund der hohen Aluminiumpreise (derzeit 2.800 US$ gemäß Londoner Metallbörse) zunehmend die Substitutionsnachfrage ansteigt. Eine besonders starke Magnesium-Nachfrage wird vor allem von der Automobilindustrie erwartet, da die hohen Benzinpreise die Entwicklung von leichteren, kraftstoffsparenden Fahrzeugen begünstigt.

Gossan Acquires the Galaxy Prospect on the Bird River Sill

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - March 29, 2007) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; Frankfurt/Freiverkehr Xetra:GSR) has entered into an Option Agreement to acquire the 431-hectare Star Property which is adjacent on three sides to Gossan's Bird River Sill Property, just to the west of the Page and Peterson Blocks. The Star Property is comprised of three claims - the Galaxy, the UFO, and the Quasar. The Peterson Block is known to extend westward from Gossan's ground onto the Galaxy claim where a limited small-core drill program encountered 0.44 metres assaying 3.79% nickel, 0.8gpt platinum, 3.5gpt palladium, 0.16% copper and 0.12% cobalt.


Douglas Reeson, Gossan's CEO, commented, "This is an important acquisition for Gossan. It positions the Bird River Property as an idea joint venture candidate. The structure on the Star Property is clearly capable of concentrating mineralization and it is located in an area of new interest as a recent magmatic model has postulated a source vent at the western end of the Page Block." The Bird River Property, now encompassing 7,301 hectares (18,040 acres), covers over 21 kilometres of the Bird River Sill Complex. This complex carries significant concentrations of palladium and platinum along with nickel, copper, zinc and chromite. The Bird River Property is located about 40-km east of Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba and, along the Sill, approximately 6 km west and northwest of Mustang Minerals' Maskwa Deposit.



Under the terms of the Option, Gossan must make payments to the vendors totalling $68,000 and conduct $200,000 of exploration expenditures over a three year period. The vendors will also hold a 1.5 % Net Smelter Return royalty of which 0.5 % is re-purchasable by Gossan for $400,000 or $600,000, depending if the price of nickel is in excess of US $12.00 per pound.

Ryan Cooke, P.Geo., is the Qualified Person supervising the Bird River Property on behalf of Gossan.

Marathon PGM Options Gossan's Bird River Property

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - April 18, 2007) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; Frankfurt/Freiverkehr:GSR) has entered into a definitive Option and Joint Venture Agreement on its Bird River Property with Marathon PGM Corporation (TSX:MAR - News). The Property, encompassing 7,301 hectares (18,040 acres), covers over 21 kilometres of the Bird River Sill Complex. This complex carries significant concentrations of palladium and platinum along with nickel, copper, zinc and chromite. The Bird River Property is located about 40-km east of Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba and, along the Sill, approximately 6 km west and northwest of Mustang Minerals' Maskwa Deposit and the historic Dumbarton mine.

Under the terms of the Agreement, Marathon PGM ("MPGM") can earn an undivided 50% interest in the Bird River Property by spending $3.0 million on exploration and making cash payments of $500,000 to Gossan by April 30, 2011. Thereafter, MPGM can earn a further 15% interest by completing a bankable feasibility study and an additional 5% interest, to a total 70% interest, by arranging project financing. Under certain conditions and subject to regulatory approval, MPGM may elect to issue its common shares in lieu of cash payments. Upon formation of a joint venture, MPGM must also make semi-annual, recoverable, advance payments of $50,000 until commercial production is achieved. In the first stage of this Agreement, MPGM's work expenditure commitment is $500,000 of exploration expenditures by April 30, 2008 and an initial cash payment of $50,000. Gossan will pay a finders fee of $10,000.

Phillip Walford, President & CEO of Marathon PGM commented, "The option of this large land package reflects Marathon's growth strategy of adding highly prospective projects near infrastructure that have the geological potential to rapidly develop PGM resources. Acquiring this project is an important step in the growth of the Company."

Platinum and palladium mineralization have been identified in several environments on the Bird River Property including nickel copper mineralization in the ultra mafic rocks, reef style mineralization near and in the chromite layers and mineralization in the surrounding volcanic rocks. Seven regional AEM targets have yet to be drilled. In addition, a zone of PGM and nickel-copper mineralization has been outlined by widely spaced drilling at the eastern end of the property on the Page Block. The Page Block appears similar to the Maskwa deposit. Drill holes in the zone include BR-05-02 intersecting 13.5m grading 0.73 gpt palladium, 0.27 gpt platinum, 1.08 % nickel and 0.50 % copper. Included in that intersection was 4.75 m grading 1.11 gpt palladium, 0.40 gpt platinum, 2.14 % nickel and 0.44% copper. The best intercepts to date are within 100 metres of surface.

Marathon PGM Corp. will advance the Project through a thorough compilation of existing data. The planned summer program will field test and prioritize the most favourable anomalies by prospecting and conducting surface geochemistry. In addition, numerous showings on the Property will be prospected. Marathon is planning a diamond drill campaign based on this work.

A new geological model with significant economic considerations for its Bird River Sill Property was published last fall. The theory which postulates a new magmatic model for the emplacement of the Chrome, Page, Peterson and the National-Ledin Blocks of the Bird River Sill (BRS) is one of the recent findings of the Joint Industry-Government-University Mapping Program of the Bird River Sill (NR-06-18 of December 19, 2006). (TSX VENTURE:MUM - News; FRANKFURT:NJF - News) today is pleased to announce that a drill hole underneath the Maskwa Open Pit Resource has intersected a wide zone of disseminated nickel mineralization with an intercept length of 41.15 meters at 0.63% nickel with a core interval of 4.5 meters grading 1.58% nickel and 1.8 g/t PGM. The Company also announced that it is underway with a heliborne EM program to complete coverage over its extensive land holdings in the Bird River Greenstone Belt.

Drill hole MM07-78 was drilled underneath the current open pit resource and at the bottom limit of the known mineralization at Maskwa. The drill hole returned both a wide disseminated zone of mineralization and a higher grade zone within the wider interval. The hole is evidence of the potential for further resource development below the open pit resource at Maskwa. Assay results are as follows:

Drill Program Ongoing

The ongoing diamond drilling program consists of resource definition and geotechnical drill holes to be incorporated into the current prefeasibility study on the Maskwa deposit as well as exploration targets previously untested. Resource definition drilling targeting the margins and the periphery of the resource, is approximately 90% complete with no material changes anticipated to the limits of the resource. Currently, Mustang is drill testing geophysical targets within a potential feeder structure to the west of the resource; only minor sulfides have been intersected to date and assays are pending.

Mustang will post the all the results of the resource drilling on its website.

Geotech VTEM Survey

Mustang has commissioned Geotech Ltd. to perform heliborne geophysical surveys, utilizing their proprietary VTEM© system, over its land position along the southern limb of the Bird River Greenstone Belt. This includes staked ground to the west of the Maskwa deposit and claims to the east that were purchased by Mustang from Falconbridge Limited in 2005. The survey consists of 652 line kilometres to be flown mostly at 100m line spacing, however, line spacing will be reduced to 50 m over the area immediately to the west of the Maskwa pit in an effort to locate the source of high grade nickel and PGM-bearing massive sulfides. Assays of massive sulfides from the Maskwa waste dump and from drill core drilled near the western margin of the Maskwa deposit have returned values greater than 8% nickel and 10 g/t PGM.

The VTEM survey will also cover the Anson Lake claim block which was staked by Mustang in 2005 based on a large magnetic anomaly and potential favourable geology for Ni-bearing sulfides. The Anson Lake claims have not been subject to modern geophysical and exploration techniques. Exploration to date has consisted of historical regional aeromagnetic surveys and limited prospecting.

The potential for higher grade underground resources to extend the mine life will also enhance the value of the Maskwa Property" he added.

Nickelausblick weiter bullisch

Kursverlauf vom 06.12.2002 bis 19.04.2007


Rückblick: Nickel ging nach einem Kursausbruch über eine bei 10.310 $ liegende Widerstandsmarke ab 2004 zunächst in eine Seitwärtsbewegung über. Der Kursverlauf hielt sich dabei unterhalb von 17.750 $. Im April 2006 gelang der Kursausbruch darüber nach oben, welcher eine umfassende Rallye einleiten konnte. Nach einem Rücksetzer auf die Ausbruchsmarke bei 17.750 $ stieg Nickel zunächst stark auf 37.750 $ an. Die hier zum Ende des vergangenen Jahres gelaufene Konsolidierung wurde dann mit dem Anstieg auf ein neues Hoch im Januar beendet. Seitdem hält sich Nickel über einem mittelfristig gebildeten Aufwärtstrend, welcher jetzt bei 43.400 $ Unterstützung bietet.

Charttechnischer Ausblick: Die mittelfristige Aufwärtsbewegung ist bei Nickel bisher ungefährdet intakt. Charttechnisch gibt es noch keine Anzeichen einer Trendwende. Mittelfristig bietet sich somit derzeit die Möglichkeit eines weiteren Kursanstieges bis in den Bereich 60.000 $ - 65.000 $. Erst ein Rückfall unter den bei 43.400 $ derzeit liegenden mittelfristigen Aufwärtstrend auf Wochenschlussbasis würde eine Korrektur bis in den Bereich 34.750 $ möglich werden lassen.

Gossan Resources Limited (GSS-TSX.V & GSR-Frankfurt/Freiverkehr) gibt ihren Aktionären wie auch der Öffentlichkeit bekannt, dass soeben ein endgültiger Options- und Joint-Venture-Vertrag mit der Marathon PGM Corporation (Börsensymbol: MAR an der TSX) bezüglich der Bird River - Liegenschaft abgeschlossen wurde.

Die Bird River - Liegenschaft umfasst 7.301 Hektar (18.040 Morgen), und erstreckt sich auf dem Bird River Sill-Komplex über eine Länge von 21 Kilometern. In diesem Komplex finden sich bedeutende Konzentrationen von Palladium und Platin, zusammen mit Nickel, Kupfer, Zink und Chromit. Das Bird River-Projekt liegt etwa 40 km östlich von Lac Du Bonnet in der kanadischen Prärieprovinz Manitoba und zieht sich längs des Sills hin. Nur etwa 6 km west-nordwestlich findet sich die Maskwa Lagerstätte von Mustang Minerals sowie die historisch bedeutsame Dumbarton Mine.

Die vertraglichen Bedingungen und Absprachen sehen vor, dass Marathon PGM ('MPGM') einen unteilbaren Anteil in Höhe von 50% an der Bird River Liegenschaft erwerben kann. Dies setzt voraus, dass ein Betrag von 3,0 Millionen $ in die Exploration investiert und eine Barzahlung von 500.000 $ an Gossan bis spätestens zum 30. April 2011 geleistet wird. Danach kann MPGM seinen Anteil um weitere 15% aufstocken, indem eine bankfähige Machbarkeitsstudie erstellt und vorgelegt wird. Der Anteil erhöht sich um weitere 5% auf insgesamt 70%, sobald die gesamte Projektfinanzierung durch MPGM arrangiert und sichergestellt wurde. Unter bestimmten Bedingungen und immer vorausgesetzt, dass die Aufsichtsbehörden die Transaktion genehmigen, steht MPGM die Alternative offen, statt einer Barzahlung den ausstehenden Betrag bzw. die anstehende Forderung auch mit eigenen Stammaktien zu begleichen. Nach dem formellen Abschluss des Joint Ventures hat MPGM halbjährlich fällige, einklagbare Vorauszahlungen in Höhe von 50.000 $ solange zu leisten, bis die kommerzielle Produktion beginnt. Während der frühen Phase des Abkommens ist MPGM verpflichtet, bereits einen Teil des vereinbarten Explorationsbudgets in Höhe von 500.000 $ bis spätestens zum 30. April 2008 zu investieren wie auch gleichzeitig eine Barzahlung von 50.000 $ zu leisten. Im Übrigen wird Gossan eine 'finders fee' (Vermittlungsgebühr) von 10.000 $ auszahlen.

Der Präsident und CEO von Marathon PGM, Herr Phillip Walford, hatte hierzu folgenden Kommentar: 'Die Option auf dieses große Liegenschaftspaket reflektiert Marathons Wachstumsstrategie, die den Erwerb hoch prospektiver Projekte mit angebundener oder naher Infrastruktur vorsieht. Diese müssen ausreichendes geologisches Potential aufweisen, um PGMs Ressourcen rasch weiter ausweiten bzw. entwickeln zu können. Die Akquisition dieses Projektes stellt einen wichtigen Schritt auf dem Wachstumspfad unserer Gesellschaft dar.'

In verschiedenen Regionen der Bird River Liegenschaft wurden bisher diverse Platin und Palladium Mineralisationen identifiziert. Die Funde schließen auch Nickel- und Kupfer-Vorkommen in ultra-maffinen Gesteinen ein, einschließlich riff-ähnlichen Mineralisationen nahe und in den Chromit-Schichten und Mineralen der umgebenden Vulkangesteine. Auf sieben regionalen AEM-Zielpunkten müssen noch Bohrungen niedergebracht werden. Im Weiteren gelang es, eine Zone mit PGM und Nickel-Kupfer-Mineralisationen zu umreißen, indem weit auseinander stehende Bohrungen am östlichen Ende der Liegenschaft, genauer, auf dem Page Block, entsprechende Funde erbrachten. Der Page Block scheint in seinem Aufbau dem Maskwa-Vorkommen zu gleichen. Die Bohrungen in dieser Zone schließen Loch BR-05-02 ein. Dieses stieß auf eine 13,5 Meter starke Schicht mit Gehalten von 0,73 g/t Palladium, 0,27 g/t Platin, 1,08% Nickel und 0,50% Kupfer. Weiterhin fand sich hier eine Intersektion von 4,75 Metern Dicke mit Konzentrationen von 1,11 g/t Palladium, 0,40 g/t Platin, 2,14% Nickel sowie 0,44% Kupfer. Die besten Intersektionen fanden sich innerhalb der zuoberst liegenden Schicht bis zu 100 Metern Tiefe - von der Oberfläche an gerechnet.

Die Marathon PGM Corp. wird das Projekt auf der Basis einer gründlichen Zusammenstellung und Auswertung aller vorhandenen Daten fortentwickeln. Im Rahmen des bereits geplanten Sommer-Programms werden zunächst einmal die erfolgversprechendsten Anomalien durch Prospektarbeiten und geochemische Oberflächenuntersuchungen getestet und dann nach Prioritäten geordnet. Weiterhin werden zahlreiche mineralische Ausstreichungen prospektiert. Am Ende all dieser Arbeiten steht dann ein Bohrprogramm mit Diamantköpfen.

Ein völlig neues geologisches Modell mit bedeutenden wirtschaftlichen Erwägungen für die Bird River Sill - Liegenschaft war im vergangenen Herbst veröffentlicht worden. Eine Theorie, der ein neues magmatisches Modell für die Aufstellung und Anordnung geologischer Gegebenheiten der Chrome- , Page- , Peterson- , und National Ledin-Blöcke im Bird River Sill (BRS) zugrunde liegt, stellt eine der neuesten Ermittlungsarbeiten eines kombinierten Industrie-Regierungs-Universitäts-Karthographierungsprogramms des Bird River Sill (NR-06-18 vom 19. Dezember 2006) dar.

Each Unit consists of one common share and one-half of a share purchase warrant. A whole warrant is exercisable over a one year period at $0.60 per share and callable in certain circumstances if the Company's shares trade at or above $0.90 for 20 consecutive trading days. The securities to be issued under the private placement will be subject to a four-month hold period. Insiders of the Company intend to participate in an amount not exceeding 25% of the proposed placement. Finders fees of 7% cash and 7% warrants to purchase common shares at $0.40 per share for a one year period may be payable on a portion of the placement, subject to regulatory approval. The placement may close in tranches.

The proceeds of the private placement will be used to conduct exploration programs, potential metallurgical work and for general working capital purposes.

Gossan Resources Limited is engaged in mineral exploration in Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. It has a well-diversified portfolio of properties hosting gold, platinum group and base metals, as well as the specialty metals, tantalum, lithium, chromium, titanium and vanadium. The Company also has a large deposit of magnesium-rich dolomite and a silica sand prospect. Marathon PGM has recently optioned Gossan's nickel-PGM property on the Bird River Sill. Gossan trades on the TSX Venture and the Frankfurt/Freiverkehr & Xetra Exchanges and has 21,787,900 common shares outstanding (27,779,676 shares fully diluted).

beiden charts, die schön anzeigen, daß wir im begriff
einer totalen NEU- bewertung.....quasi im OPEN SKY sind !!!


dies IMO auch durch die NEU- ausrichtung von GSS mehr
als berechtigt und wurde nochmals nachhaltig dokumentiert
durch SPROTTS massiven einstieg jüngst beim PP (siehe # 55)


es wird nun darauf ankommen, wie man bei den div. proj.

Gossan Announces Magnesium Thermodynamic Study Underway

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - May 24, 2007) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS)(FRANKFURT/FREIVERKEHR:GSR) advises that a chemical thermodynamic study of the Zuliani process to extract magnesium metal from dolomite is currently underway. Dr. Arthur Pelton of THERMFACT Ltd. and a Professor at Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal has been retained to conduct the study. THERMFACT is a co-developer of the world leading FactSage integrated thermodynamic databank system which calculates the conditions for multiphase, multi-component equilibria in complex gas-slag-metal systems.

The FactSage study will confirm the process thermodynamics for the Zuliani technology including the vapour pressure of magnesium as a function of process temperature and operating conditions, the slag - metal reactions and the formation of by-products.

Dr. Pelton is a co-founder of the FactSage system, which is among the world's largest database computing systems in chemical thermodynamics. FactSage has more than 200 industrial and 200 academic users worldwide. Dr. Pelton recently received a $600,000 NSERC-CRD grant in collaboration with General Motors to develop databases for the thermodynamic and volumetric properties of magnesium alloys for purposes of evaluating the potential for new magnesium alloys. He also recently developed software dedicated to simulate the phase transformations during casting of magnesium alloys.

Dr. Pelton attended the University of Toronto where he earned three degrees culminating with a Doctorate in Metallurgy in 1970. Professor Pelton has received 22 awards for his work, including the Falconbridge Innovation Award (CIMM) in 1999. Dr. Pelton has been published in 218 scientific journals and has authored or co-authored over 95 engineering reports and contributed to thirteen books.

Over the past decade, magnesium metal markets have grown annually at double digit rates and prospects for continued growth are significant. A recently released report, "Magnesium Vision 2020" prepared by the United States Automotive Materials Partnership (USAMP) in cooperation with 61 members of the North American automotive magnesium industry including USCAR (a consortium composed of DaimlerChrysler AG, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation) points to substantial future growth opportunities for magnesium in the automotive sector. While North American vehicles currently average 10-12 lbs of magnesium with select vehicles containing up to 35 lbs, Magnesium Vision 2020 indicates that with the proper market infrastructure, the average magnesium content could increase to as much as 350 lbs by 2020 by replacing heavier components. At these magnesium levels, the report concludes that vehicle weight would be reduced by 500 lbs thereby significantly improving fuel efficiency and reducing emissions. To put this into perspective, the average North American vehicle currently contains about 260 lbs of plastics, 280 lbs of aluminum and 2150 lbs of steel/cast iron. A major conclusion of the study is that the magnesium industry requires a North American based champion to promote magnesium within the auto sector as is the case with other more established materials. Gossan holds a large high-purity dolomite property at Inwood, Manitoba and is investigating opportunities for producing magnesium metal. The Company recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding defining the terms of a licensing arrangement for the Zuliani process, a new, high efficiency magnesium production process projected to significantly reduce the direct operating cost of magnesium metal production by as much as 25% compared to a typical Chinese plant. Chinese companies are strong competitors and currently produce approximately 80% of the world's magnesium metal. Over the past year, free market magnesium prices have increased sharply to approximately US $2150 -$2200 per tonne FOB Chinese port. Due to US import duties, the spot price in US markets is currently over US $3200 per tonne. For further information refer to NR-07-02 dated March 16, 2007.

The US Geological Survey estimated world primary production of magnesium at 610,000 tonnes in 2005. Over the past 15 years, China has become the predominant supplier with production of 468,700 tonnes in 2005. Magnesium can be produced using a number of different processes and inputs. It is primarily used as an alloy with aluminum and as a structural metal with die casting for the auto industry being the fastest growing component. Magnesium is also used to remove sulfur in the production of iron and steel. Magnesium is the lightest of all the commonly used metals and may be substituted to some extent for aluminum and zinc in castings and wrought products. The price of magnesium has firmed during the past year with 2006 year end free market prices in Canada and Europe ranging between US $2,000 to $2,100 per metric tonne. Corresponding prices in the USA were $2,975 to $3,200 per tonne being significantly higher due to varying tariff protection against certain Chinese and Russian producers. The free market and USA magnesium prices are expected to continue to firm due to increasing substitution demand resulting from the high price for aluminum which is currently US $2,800 per tonne as posted by the LME. Demand for magnesium is expected to remain strong particularly from the auto industry where high gasoline prices are leading to the design of lighter more fuel efficient vehicles.

genau das meine ich ja ,
die jetzige MK von lächerlichen 20Mil. CAD und die bereits
nachgewiesenen Ressourcen aus einem einzigen Projekt
ist das gewaltig ..
das bis zum Produktionsbeginn noch Jahre vergehen können ist klar

Trotz zu erwartender Kapitalmaßnahmen und einhergehender Verwässerung dürfte sich hier eine Unterbewertung von 300-500% ergeben. Bis wann die aufgeholt ist, weiß ich nicht, aber dadurch, das das Interesse sprunghaft ansteigt glaube ich, das wir dieses in naher Zukunft erleben werden.
Also viel Glück allen investierten. Mein persönliches KZ liegt im Juni noch bei 0,50.- Cent und danach bis 1,50.- im Jahresverlauf.

Ich bin der Meinung, das nach Faktenlage und dem Report im Rohhstoffspiegel hier jeder versuchen sollte in Bälde unter 0,36.- reinzukommen. Wenn Gossan nur halbwegs erfolgreich weiterexploriert, dann haben wir es hier nach OTL mit einem weiteren Jahrhundertinvestment zu tun mit Kurszielen, die hier noch gar nicht ausgesprochen wurden.

Die Lunte brennt. Wenn,s dann kracht, dann aber gewaltig. Der Zeitpunkt, an dem Volumen reinkommt dauert nicht mehr lang. Verkauft wird hier schon lange nicht mehr zu angemessenen Stückzahlen. Mein Tipp ist, bei der nächsten Hype trägt,s uns binnen weniger Tage auf über 1.- Euro. Alles darunter ist von der Bewertung her sowieso ein Witz. Magnesium und deren günstige Produktion wird gerade erst vom Mainstream entdeckt. War beim Moly und Uran genauso.

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - June 11, 2007) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; FRANKFURT/FREIVERKEHR:GSR) has been advised by its partner, Marathon PGM Corporation ("Marathon"), that it has commenced its 2007 exploration campaign at Gossan's Bird River Property.

Positive Initial Results from Prospecting

Marathon has started a detailed compilation of historical work and has mobilized geological staff to the Bird River Sill. Initially, prospecting will be the main focus of work, which will verify some of the airborne geophysical targets and evaluate the numerous occurrences. Marathon's prospecting has yielded positive initial results, as a number of rock samples collected over a strike length of 100 meters exhibit high values of PGM and variable nickel and copper values. Collected at Ward's in the far western end of the Bird Rriver Property, some 21 km west of the Page Block, the chemistry of the samples clearly demonstrates that PGM mineralization is known to occur in multiple environments over the entire property.

The Page Zone

The Page Block is the most advanced target within the Bird River Property, having several holes containing nickel, copper, platinum and palladium values over a strike length of 1 km. Most of the historic drill holes were not assayed for PGM. The Page Block is approximately 4 km north-west of Mustang Minerals Maskwa mine, which is at present undergoing a prefeasibility study. The total potentially mineable material (prepared by Micon International, September 2006) at Maskwa is 9,048,200 tonnes at 0.62% Ni, 0.13% Cu, 0.02% Co, 0.15 gpt Pt and 0.58 gpt Pd.

Marathon has given the Page Block the highest priority for drilling due to both its proximity to the past producing Maskwa and Dumbarton mines and the similarity of the contact style of mineralization. Numerous showings of similar nickel, copper and PGM mineralization exist along the sill for much of the 21 km of the property's strike length. A ground geophysical program is planned to optimize drilling on the Page Block as well as to define on the ground the airborne geophysical targets for planned drilling later in the year.

All of the samples from the "BR" holes were sent to Accurassay, an accredited laboratory in Thunder Bay, Ont., to be assayed using fire assay and other standard techniques. All of the "HUDBAY" holes were analysed by Hudson Bay Smelting and Mining Company's internal assay laboratory. The "C" series of rock samples were submitted to ALS Chemex, an accredited laboratory in Vancouver, BC., to be assayed using fire assay and other standard techniques.

All exploration work is being performed under the guidance and supervision of Phillip C. Walford, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, a professional geologist and Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Mr. Walford has approved the contents of this press release.

Under the terms of the Option and Joint Venture Agreement, Marathon can earn an undivided 50% interest in the Bird River Property by spending $3.0 million on exploration and making payments of $500,000 to Gossan by April 30, 2011. Thereafter, Marathon can earn a further 15% interest by completing a bankable feasibility study and an additional 5% interest, to a total 70% interest, by arranging project financing. Upon formation of a joint venture, Marathon must also make semi-annual, recoverable, advance payments of $50,000 until commercial production is achieved. In the first stage of this Agreement, Marathon's work expenditure commitment is $500,000 of exploration expenditures by April 30, 2008 and an initial cash payment of $50,000.

The Bird River Property, encompassing 7,301 hectares (18,040 acres), covers over 21 kilometres of the Bird River Sill Complex. This complex carries significant concentrations of palladium and platinum along with nickel, copper, zinc and chromite. The Bird River Property is located about 40-km east of Lac Du Bonnet, Manitoba and, along the Sill, approximately 4-6 km west and northwest of Mustang Minerals' Maskwa Deposit and the historic Dumbarton mine.

Gossan Resources Limited is engaged in mineral exploration in Manitoba and northwestern Ontario. It has a well-diversified portfolio of properties hosting gold, platinum group and base metals, as well as the specialty and minor metals, tantalum, lithium, chromium, titanium and vanadium. The Company also has a large deposit of magnesium-rich dolomite and a silica sand prospect. Marathon PGM has recently optioned Gossan's nickel-PGM property on the Bird River Sill. Hi Baker. Sehe ich genauso wie Du, allerdings bin ich auf kurze Sicht nicht gaz so euphorisch, wie Du es gestern darstelltest (1 €).Einen Euro würde ich Richtung Jahresende gerne sehen, dann hätten wie nicht die explorertypischen Rückschläge zu erwarten. Aber es ist tatsächlich erstaunlich, wie stark sich GSS im augenblicklichen Marktumfeld hält.
Aber wenn wirklich gute News kommen, dann ist ein Explorer in diesem Stadium ( um 35-45 Cent) wahrscheinlich kaum zu halten, und dann hätten wir die entsprechenden Rücksetzer. Und die Trader und Schlaumichel mit an Bord. Bis dato ist es ein sehr ruhiger und sachlicher Thread.

Erste positive Ergebnisse der Prospektierungsarbeiten

Marathon hat damit begonnen, relevante historische Daten und Fakten in detailliertere Weise zusammenzutragen und mobilisierte inzwischen seine geologischen Teams, die auch bereits auf die Bird River - Liegenschaft ausrückten. Zunächst einmal werden Prospektierungsarbeiten im Mittelpunkt von deren Aktivitäten stehen. Deren Ziel besteht zum einen darin, die durch Luftaufnahmen ermittelten geophysischen Zielzonen durch Probenentnahmen zu bestätigen und zum anderen die zahlreichen Einzel- Vorkommen zu bewerten. Marathons Prospektierungsarbeiten wiesen bereits erste positive Ergebnisse auf. Eine Anzahl von Gesteinsproben, die über eine 100 Meter lange Strecke in der Hauptrichtung eines Vorkommen entnommen wurden, enthielten hohe Konzentrationen von PGM sowie in den Gehalten stark schwankende Nickel- und Kupfer-Werte. Diese Proben wurden in der Ward-Zone am äußersten westlichen Ende der Bird River - Liegenschaft eingesammelt, die rund 21 Kilometer westlich des Page Blocks liegt. Die chemische Zusammensetzung der Stichproben beweist ganz klar, dass sich PGM-Mineralisationen in multiplen Zusammensetzungen und diversen Umgebungen über die gesamte Liegenschaft verstreut finden.

Der Page-Block stellt die am weitesten entwickelte Zone innerhalb der Bird River - Liegenschaft dar. Dort finden sich bereits zahlreiche Bohrlöcher, die Nickel, Kupfer, Platin und Palladium über eine Länge von mindestens 1 Kilometer hin enthalten. Die meisten dieser historischen Bohrlöcher waren labortechnisch bis heute nicht auf PGM-Vorkommen hin untersucht worden. Der Page-Block liegt ungefähr 4 Kilometer nordwestlich der von Mustang Minerals wiederbelebten Maskwa Mine. Mustang hat unlängst eine vorläufige Machbarkeitsstudie in Auftrag gegeben. Das insgesamt auf Maskwa vorhandene bergbautechnisch abbaubare Material (im September 2006 durch die Firma Micon International bestätigt) beläuft sich auf 9.048.200 Tonnen mit Gehalten von 0,62% Nickel, 0,13% Kupfer, 0,02% Kobalt, 0,15 gpt Platin und 0,58 gpt Palladium.

Marathon hat nun dem Page Block die höchste Priorität im Rahmen des anstehenden Bohrprogramms zugeordnet, und zwar aus doppeltem Grund: Zum einen wegen seiner Nähe zu den einstmals produzierenden Maskwa und Dumbarton Minen und zum anderen wegen der Ähnlichkeiten der auf ersten Kontakt hin gefundenen Arten der Mineralisationen. Zahlreiche Austritte von in ihrer Struktur ähnlichen Nickel-, Kupfer- und PGM-Mineralisationen existieren längs des gesamten Sills über eine Länge von wenigstens 21 Kilometer in der Hauptrichtung der Liegenschaft. Ein geplantes geophysikalisches Programm mit Bodenuntersuchungen soll die Anordnungen und Lokationen der nachfolgenden Bohrlöcher auf dem Page-Block optimieren. Ausserdem sollen die durch Luftvermessungen gefundenen geophysikalischen Ziele am Boden genauer definiert werden, was dann dem später im Jahre folgenden Bohrprogramm als Grundlage dient.

Alle den 'BR'-Bohrungen entnommenen Proben wurden an die Firma Accurassay gesandt. Hier handelt es sich um ein voll akkreditiertes Labor in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Die Untersuchungen und Analysen nutzen die Feuermethode und andere Standard-Prüftechnologien. Dagegen wurden die 'HUDBAY'- Bohrlöcher durch die Hudson Bay Smelting and Mining Company bzw. deren interne Prüflabore analysiert. Im Weiteren gingen die Proben der 'C'-Serie von Gesteinsproben an die ALS Chemex, ein ebenfalls voll akkreditiertes Labor in Vancouver, BC. Auch hier kamen die Feuermethode und andere Standard- Prüftechnologien zum Einsatz.

Alle Explorationsarbeiten wurden unter der Führung und Aufsicht von Herrn Phillip C. Walford durchgeführt. Er ist der Präsident und Chief Executive Officer der Gesellschaft. Ausserdem ist Herr Walford eine professionelle geologische Fachkraft und eine qualifizierte Person, wie sie unter den Vorschriften des nationalen Instruments für Ingenieurberichte 43-101 zwingend erforderlich eingesetzt werden muss. Herr Walford hat auch den Inhalt dieser Pressemeldung geprüft und gutgeheißen.

Den im Options- und Joint Venture-Vertrag festgelegten Bedingungen und Vereinbarungen zufolge, kann Marathon einen unteilbaren Anteil von 50% an der Bird River-Liegenschaft erwerben. Allerdings muss die Gesellschaft eine Summe von 3,0 Millionen $ in die Exploration investieren und bis zum 30. April 2011 einen Betrag von 500.000 $ an Gossan überweisen. Danach kann Marathon einen weiteren Anteil von 15% erwerben, indem die Firma eine bankfähige Machbarkeitsstudie erstellt. Eine weitere Steigerung des Anteils um 5 auf insgesamt 70% ist danach noch immer möglich, falls Marathon auch noch für die Projekt-Finanzierung sorgt.

Mit der Unterzeichnung des Joint Venture-Vertrages ging Marathon noch eine weitere Verpflichtung ein: Halbjährlich müssen nun 50.000 $ im Voraus bezahlt werden und zwar solange bis die kommerzielle Produktion aufgenommen wird. In der ersten Phase dieser Vereinbarung muss Marathon bis spätestens zum 30. April 2008 mindestens 500.000 $ in die Explorationsarbeiten investieren und eine erste Barzahlung von 50.000 $ leisten.

Die Bird River-Liegenschaft umfasst eine Fläche von 7.301 Hektar (18.040 Morgen) und erstreckt sich über eine Länge von 21 Kilometern längs des Bird River Sill-Komplexes. Auf diesem Komplex finden sich bedeutende Konzentrationen von Palladium und Platin, zusammen mit Nickel, Kupfer, Zink und Chrom. Die Bird River-Liegenschaft liegt etwa 40 Kilometer östlich von Lac Du Bonnet in Manitoba. Sie erstreckt sich längs des Sills, und das Mustang Minerals Maskwa - Vorkommen sowie die historische Dumbarton Mine liegen nur etwa 4 bis 6 Kilometer westlich bzw. nordwestlich entfernt.

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - June 26, 2007) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; FRANKFURT/FREIVERKEHR:GSR) has awarded 430,000 incentive stock options exercisable at $0.50 per common share to officers, directors and consultants of the Company. This grant of options is in compliance with the terms of the Company's Stock Option Plan and remains subject to the acceptance of the TSX Venture Exchange.

Gossan Resources Ltd. has been advised by its joint venture partner, Marathon PGM Corp., of the latest assay results from the first phase of drilling at the ore fault north zone and the Page block within the Bird River project. Marathon's drilling intersected two distinct types of mineralization, namely lenses of nickel-copper and platinum group metals (Ni-Cu-PGM) and copper-zinc-silver (Cu-Zn-Ag). The first phase of the 2009 drill program completed a total of 971 metres in seven holes. Two holes (534 metres) were drilled at the ore fault north zone and five holes (437 metres) were drilled at the Page block. These holes are within the current resource pit shell and will add to the existing resource base. The property is located on the Bird River sill in southeastern Manitoba and is immediately adjacent to Mustang Minerals Maskwa property, where a final feasibility study is being conducted.



Highlights:

* 2.8-metre intersection of Ni-Cu-PGM mineralization grading 2.66 per cent nickel, 2.10 per cent copper, 15.25 grams per tonne (g/t) silver and 2.03 g/t PGM plus gold in a sulphide lens at the Page block within hole MP-09-17;
* 2.5-metre intersection of Cu-Zn-Ag mineralization grading 2.23 per cent zinc, 0.74 per cent copper and 50.47 g/t silver in a sulphide lens at the ore fault zone within hole MF-09-27;
* 350 metres of continuous mineralized strike length defined at the ore fault north zone.

Douglas Reeson, president of Gossan, commented: "Marathon continues to expand the resource potential of the Bird River project while also demonstrating the untapped potential of the entire Bird River sill complex. Future drilling is warranted to further investigate the tonnage potential of the full length of the Gossan-Marathon property holding. The current drill programs, by increasing widths and strike lengths of mineralization, are an extremely effective means of expanding the value of the mineral resource making the entire Bird River sill area more economically viable."

Phillip Walford, Marathon's president and chief executive officer, stated: "It is important to note that over a 22-kilometre strike length, only three kilometres have been drill tested by Marathon. Two holes reported here include wide intersections of mineralization; the most impressive includes 28 metres and 17 metres true width, cut by hole MF-09-27 in the ore fault north zone."

Ore fault north zone mineralization and drilling focus

Current drilling has focused on two types of mineralization that are nearly adjacent at this location on the ore fault north zone -- Ni-Cu-PGM mineralization dipping at 45 to 60 degrees and vertical-dipping lenses, and Cu-Zn-Ag mineralization. The Cu-Zn-Ag mineralization has so far been defined in holes over a north-south strike length of 350 metres, vertical depth of 250 metres, and remains open downdip and to the south. The Ni-Cu-PGM mineralization strikes north-northwest and dips to the west. Hole MF-09-27 is a step-out hole on higher-grade lenses of Ni-Cu and Cu-Zn-Ag mineralization, which converge at surface. Hole MF-09-27 was drilled 50 metres to the west of MF-09-26 to test downdip continuity of the mineralized lenses.

Holes MF-09-26 and MF-09-27 were drilled on Section 4660 in an area that returned good intersections of mineralization last year (19.7-metre intersection of the lower Zn-Cu-Ag zone grading 4.61 per cent zinc, 0.74 per cent copper, 51.1 g/t silver, and 0.15 g/t PGM and gold, within a semi-massive sulphide lens in hole MF-08-07 (see the company's news release dated April 23, 2008, in Stockwatch)). The intersections of Cu-Zn-Ag mineralization in holes MF-09-26 and MF-09-27 are continuous over a vertical depth of at least 150 metres.

Page block mineralization and drilling focus

The current drilling at the Page block was completed in order to increase grade, tonnage and improve the resource classifications. Holes were aimed at higher-grade material with step-out and infill drilling. Drilled holes were all shallow and typically intersected mineralization at vertical depth of less than 60 metres. These holes intersected stacked sulphide lenses of Ni-Cu-PGM mineralization, which is similar to results from last year's drilling (see the company's news release in Stockwatch on May 28, 2008, in which the company reported a 15.5-metre intersection assaying 0.81 per cent nickel, 0.35 per cent copper, and 0.67 g/t PGM and gold, in hole MP-08-08).

Hole MP-09-17 successfully tested both updip mineralization from hole MP-08-09 on Section 700E and massive sulphide lenses along from hole MP-08-06, 20 metres to the west. MP-09-18 was a step-out hole that successfully tested updip massive sulphide lenses from hole MP-08-07 on Section 680E.

Phase 2 2009 drilling

Marathon is planning the second phase of drilling for the Bird River project to focus on high-priority targets with the continued aim of expanding resources, improving grade and classifications.

The Bird River project is a joint venture between Marathon and Gossan Resources. Gossan currently owns a 47-per-cent interest in the project. The Bird River project covers a strike length of 22 kilometres of the Bird River sill. Numerous known showings of Ni-Cu-PGM are present throughout the Bird River sill. Drilling to date has only focused on three kilometres at the eastern end of the property. On Jan. 15, 2009, two NI 43-101-compliant resource estimates were announced for the ore fault north zone and the Page block (see the company's news release in Stockwatch dated Jan. 15, 2009).

Quality assurance and quality control

Samples consist of NQ-size drill core that are split by diamond saw on site, prepared at ALS Chemex, Vancouver, and assayed by fire assay with an ICP-OES finish (for Pt, Pd and Au), and acid dissolution and ICP-OES finish for base metals. Marathon's quality assurance-quality control (QA-QC) program consists of insertion of standards of known PGM content and duplicates every 30 samples. After sampling, the remaining half core is retained on site for future verification and reference purposes.

Dr. David Good, PGeo, vice-president of exploration, is Marathon's qualified person, in compliance with National Instrument 43-101, with respect to this release. Dr. Good has reviewed the contents for accuracy and has approved this news release on behalf of Gossan.

m.e. nur das Magnesiumprojekt ist Kursbewegend. Der Zuliani-Prozess muss funktionieren, damit ein Magnesiumproduzent entstehen kann. Die restlichen Projekte sind m.e. nachrangig. Wieviel Meter sind den mit welchen Gehalten gemessen worden ? Auf den ersten Blick für mich nicht des rechnen werts.

Habe mich gestern mit dem Rektor einer TU unterhalten. Der hat 75 Profs unter sich und hat selbst mit Magnesium geforscht. Es besteht halt weiterhin das Problem, dass Schweißen mit Magnesium nur schwer möglich ist. Formteile ohne Probleme.

Aber wenn der Umwelthype mit E-Autos ein Flächenbrand wird, wird auch die Gewichtsreduktion wichtig werden. Ich hoffe, dass nicht andere Entwicklungen, sondern Magnesium die erste Wahl wird.

als die ´triebfeder´ von GSS.

dennoch....und DAS war mir wichtig herauszustellen, ist bei
ner akt. mini- MK von 2,2 cad- mios. auch das übrige betätigungs-
feld allemale ´werthaltig´.......und im falle von BIRD RIVER ists
gut denkbar, daß MAR auf mittlere sicht auch den verbliebenen
43%igen rest- anteil von GSS erwirbt !!!

Aktionären wie auch der Öffentlichkeit bekannt, dass der Joint-Venture Partner Marathon PGM Corporation (kurz:'Marathon') soeben neue Laborergebnisse vorgelegt hat. Sie entstammen der ersten Phase des auf der Erzfalten-Zone und dem Page Block durchgeführten Bohrprogramms als Teil des Bird River Projektes. Die Bohrungen durchschnitten zwei klar voneinander abgegrenzte Arten von Mineralisationen:

1) Linsenförmige Lager von Nickel-Kupfer mit Metallen der Platin-Gruppe ('Ni-Cu-PGM') und 2) Kupfer-Zink-Silber Ablagerungen ('Cu-Zn-Ag')

Währ der ersten Phase des Bohrprogramms des Jahres 2009 wurden insgesamt sieben Löcher mit einer Gesamtlänge von 971 Metern niedergebracht. Davon entfielen zwei Löcher mit 534 Metern auf die Erzfalten-Nordzone und fünf mit 437 Metern auf den Page Block. Alle Bohrungen liegen innerhalb der derzeit bearbeiteten schalenförmigen Grubenformation dieser Ressource und erweitern den Basiswert des Vorkommens.

Die Liegenschaft selbst findet sich im südöstlichen Manitoba und grenzt unmittelbar an das Maskwa-Projekt des Bergbauunternehmens Mustang Minerals an. Dort wird gerade eine finale Machbarkeitsstudie erstellt.

Einige Schlaglichter:

* Eine 2,8 Meter starke Intersektion mit Ni-Cu-PGM Mineralisationen mit Gehalten von 2,66% Nickel, 2,10 % Kupfer, 15,25 % Silber und 2,03 gpt PGM sowie Gold in einer sulphidischen Linsenformation die das Bohrloch MP-09-17 auf dem Page Block nachwies.

* Eine weitere 2,5 Meter starke Schicht mit Cu-Zn-Ag Mineralisationen mit Konzentrationen von 2,23 % Zink, 0,74 % Kupfer sowie 50,47 gpt Silber in einer weiteren sulphidischen Linse, durch Bohrloch MF-09-27 nachgewiesen.

* Klare Definition einer über 350 Meter in Hauptrichtung des Vorkommens kontinuierlich verlaufen Mineralisation auf der Erzfalten-Nordzone

Gossans Präsident, Herr Douglas Reeson, hatte hierzu folgen Kommentar: 'Marathon setzt seine Anstrengungen, die Ressourcen des Bird River Projektes zielgerichtet zu erweitern, erfolgreich fort. Gleichzeitig werden die unerschlossenen Potentiale des gesamten Bird River Sill Komplexes höchst anschaulich demonstriert. Damit sind weitere Bohrarbeiten zwecks Untersuchung der vorhandenen Tonnagen auf der vollen Länge der Gossan-Marathon Liegenschaft mehr als gerechtfertigt. Die laufen Bohrarbeiten stellen mit ihren Erweiterungen des Nachweises von Mineralisationen in Breite und Länge extrem effiziente Wertsteigerungen der Gesamtressource dar, welche die Wirtschaftlichkeit des gesamten Bird River Sill Areals deutlich steigert.'

Herr Phillip Walford, seines Zeichens Präsident und CEO von Marathon bemerkte hierzu: 'Es ist von großer Bedeutung, dass über die Gesamtlänge des Projektes, die sich immerhin über 22 Kilometer erstreckt, durch Marathon bisher lediglich ganze 3 Kilometer durch Bohrungen teilweise untersucht wurden. Die zwei Bohrlöcher, über deren Ergebnisse hier berichtet wird, durchschnitten äußerst beeindrucke Mineralisationsschichten: Die eindrucksvollsten waren 28 Meter bzw. 17 Meter breit und wurden durch Loch MF-09-27 in der Erzfalten-Nordzone nachgewiesen.'

Die Erzfalten-Nordzone mit ihren Mineralisationen und die Bohr-Ziele

Die Bohrungen konzentrierten sich auf zwei Grund-Arten der Mineralisationen, die sich, fast aneinander anschließ, in der Erzfalten-Nordzone finden: Die Ni-Cu-PGM Mineralisation, die mit einer Neigung zwischen 45 bis 60 Grad nach unten verläuft, und die nahezu vertikal gelagerten linsenförmigen Cu-Zn-Ag Mineralisation. Letztere konnte soweit durch Bohrlöcher über eine Länge von 350 Metern und mit einer Tiefe von 250 Metern definiert werden. Nach unten hin und in Richtung Süden sind die Dimensionen noch völlig offen. Die Ni-Cu-PGM Mineralisation dagegen verläuft in Richtung Nordnordwest und senkt sich am westlichen e nur mässig ab. Bohrloch MF-09-27 wurde 50 Meter westlich von Loch MF-09-26 niedergebracht. Es fällt etwas aus dem Rahmen des generellen Bohrmusters und weist Linsen mit höheren Gehalten von Ni-Cu und Cu-Zn-Ag Mineralisationen nach, welche an der Oberfläche ganz offen und sichtbar austreten.

Löcher MF-09-26 and MF-09-27 wurden auf der Sektion 4660 gebohrt. Dieses Areal hatte bereits bemerkenswert gute Sektionen mit Mineralisationen im Rahmen des letztjährigen Bohrprogramms erbracht, z. B. 19,7 Meter Intersektion in der unteren Zn-Cu-Ag Zone mit Gehalten von 4,61% Zink, 0,74% Kupfer, 51,1 gpt Silber und 0,15 gpt PGM und Gold innerhalb einer semi-massiven sulphidischen Linse in MF-08-07 (siehe auch Pressemeldung NR-08-03 vom 23. April 2008). Die Intersektionen der Cu-Zn-Ag Mineralisation der Löcher MF-09-26 und -27 verlaufen kontinuierlich über eine vertikale Tiefe von wenigstens 150 Metern.

Die Page Block Mineralisationen und die Bohr-Ziele

Die Bohrungen auf dem Page Block wurden ebenfalls mit dem Ziel komplettiert, die Tonnenzahlen der Ressource zu erhöhen und die Klassifikation derselben anzuheben. Die Löcher wurden über höherhaltigen Materialien platziert, wobei einige außerhalb des Grundmusters und andere zwischen zwei bereits existiere Bohrungen gesetzt wurden. Die Bohrungen waren grundsätzlich flacher Natur und durchschnitten typischerweise Mineralisationen in weniger als 60 Meter Tiefe. Hier trafen sie auf übereinander angeordnete sulphidische Linsenformationen mit Ni-Cu-PGM Mineralisationen. Diese Ergebnisse sind denen vom Bohrprogramm des letzten Jahres sehr ähnlich (siehe auch Pressemeldung NR 08-08 vom 28. Mai 2008 - eine 15,5 Meter starke Intersektion mit Gehalten von 0,81% Nickel, 0,35% Kupfer und 0,67 gpt PGM und Gold in Loch MP-08-08).

Bohrloch MP-09-17 war insofern ein Erfolg, als es sowohl aufsteige Formationen von Mineralisierungen in der Sektion 700 E von Richtung Loch MP-08-09 komm, wie auch massive sulphidische Linsen um Loch MP-08-06, 20 Meter weiter westlich - nachwies. Loch MP-09-18 wurde außerhalb des bisherigen Grund-Bohrmusters plaziert. Es wies aufsteige massive sulphidische Linsen nach, die sich von Loch MP-08-07 in der Sektion 680E herüberzogen.

2009 Bohrprogramm der Phase Zwei

Marathon plant jetzt eine zweite Phase des Bohrprogramms auf dem Bird River Projekt einzuleiten. Bezielt werden dabei Lokationen höchster Priorität mit dem Zweck, die Ressourcen stetig zu erweitern unter gleichzeitiger Verbesserung der Konzentrationen und der Klassifikationsstufen.

Das Bird River Projekt ist eine Joint Venture Unternehmung zwischen Marathon und Gossan Resources (GSS.V - Nachrichten) . Derzeit hält Gossan einen Anteil von 47% am Projekt. Das Bird River Projekt ist in seinen Dimensionen sehr ausgedehnt. Es zieht sich in seiner Hauptrichtung über eine Länge von 22 Kilometern über den Bird River Sill hin. Eine große Anzahl offen zutage treter Vorkommen von Nickel-Kupfer-Erzen wie auch Metallen der Platingruppe finden sich auf dem sehr weitläufigen Gelände des Bird River Sill. Die bis heute durchgeführten Bohrarbeiten haben sich lediglich auf eine 3 Kilometer lange Strecke am östlichen e der Liegenschaft konzentriert.

Am 15. Januar 2009 wurden zwei Ressourcen-Schätzungen bekannt gegeben, die den Anforderungen des amtlichen Formats NI 43-101 entsprechen. Sie bezogen sich auf die Erzfalten-Nordzone und den Page Block (siehe auch Pressemitteilung NR-09-01 vom 15. Januar 2009).

Qualitätssicherungs-Programm und Kontrolle

Die Bohrkerne entsprechen in ihrer Größe dem Format NQ und werden per Diamantsäge noch vor Ort mittig getrennt. Diese Vorbereitungen trifft die Firma ALS Chemex Vancouver. Danach werden die Proben per Feuertests und mit einem ICP-OES - Verfahren (für Pt, Pd und Au) bzw. mit einer Säure-Auflösung (für die Industriemetalle) getestet. Marathon's Qualitätssicherungs-Kontrollprogramm (QA-QC) schließt eine Reihe von doppelten Prüfungen ein, die sich an bekannten Standards ausrichten. Außerdem wird jede 30. Probe dupliziert und unabhängig zwecks Kontrolle doppelt geprüft. Nach Zusammenstellung der Stichproben verbleibt die andere Hälfte der Bohrkerne vor Ort. Dies ermöglicht später jederzeit eine Wiederholung der Analysen und außerdem dient dies langfristigen Inventuren und dem klaren Nachweis kontrollierter Lagerhaltung.

Gossan Receives Favourable Phase I Bench-Scale Magnesium Process Results



WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - May 11, 2009) - Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; FRANKFURT/FREIVERKEHR XETRA:GSR) has been advised by Process Research Ortech (PRO) of favourable results from its Phase I bench scale testing of the Zuliani Process for extraction of magnesium metal from dolomite. A key finding of the final PRO Report for Phase I was that 98.9% of the magnesium contained within calcined dolomite samples was volatilized under experimental conditions at the desired temperature range. Volatilization, in this case, measures the proportion of magnesium metal that has been released from the calcined dolomite and represents the likely highest possible recovery rate. PRO conducted 8 bench scale tests in Phase I.

Douglas Reeson, President of Gossan commented, "Even under these bench scale experimental conditions, the degree of magnesium volatilization is exceptionally high. Given the nature of the Zuliani Process, recovery rates of magnesium under production conditions could be 20% to 25% higher than the typical recovery rates provided by the Pidgeon Process used by the dominant Chinese producers. Higher recovery rates coupled with the use of electricity could potentially lower the environmental impact of magnesium production dramatically. The volatility findings imply exceptionally high raw material utilization efficiency and gives further credence to the Zuliani Process ultimately providing the lowest operating cost per pound of magnesium produced - by a material margin."

Phase II bench scale testing at PRO is now underway with the test design finalized and equipment on order. The Phase II tests are designed to facilitate a complete mass balance plus confirm the quality of the magnesium metal and respective by-products produced. The Phase II tests are expected to be completed within the next 8-10 weeks.

Gossan will showcase the Inwood Magnesium Project at the 66th Annual World Magnesium Conference being held from May 31 to June 2 in San Francisco California (Booth - 110).

Gossan holds a very large high-purity magnesium dolomite property at Inwood, Manitoba and the world-wide rights for the Zuliani Process, a new, high efficiency magnesium production process projected to significantly reduce the direct operating cost of magnesium metal production. Should additional testing prove to be successful, Inwood has the potential to restore magnesium production in Canada with a technology capable of bringing costs down sufficiently to compete globally.

The new process being developed by Douglas Zuliani is designed to achieve operating cost savings by process efficiency improvements that significantly reduce both energy and key raw material requirements. The drill results identified a more favourable palladium to platinum ratio of 2.27 in the Coppermine Zone compared to 4.35 at the eastern end of the property. To date, Marathon has identified an 800 metre long mineralized strike length at the Coppermine Zone. A single hole at the Coppermine Zone was drilled by Canex Placer Ltd in 1973 which contained a 12.2 m intersection grading 0.24 % nickel, 0.42 % copper, 1.02 gpt platinum and 1.19 gpt palladium. Additional prospecting was carried out by Marathon along strike from this hole, yielding a total of 77 grab samples, of which 20 returned values of greater than 0.5 gpt platinum plus palladium, including 8 samples in the range of 1-3 gpt platinum plus palladium (please see Gossan news release 07-09 of June 11, 2007).

Marathon is also prospecting at the Chrome and Galaxy Zones to follow up on geophysical anomalies. The 15 km of strike length separating the Coppermine and Chrome Zones is highly prospective and warrants future drilling. Reinterpretation of the Page and Ore Fault drill databases and re-logging of select Ore Fault and Page holes from as far back as the 1970s will assist in further refinement of the model of mineralization. To date Marathon has successfully delineated over 5 million tonnes of in-pit resource at the Ore Fault and Page Zones in 2008. The Bird River Project is a joint venture between Gossan Resources and Marathon with Marathon acting as operator of the project. Gossan contributed funding to the 2009 Spring drill program to maintain its interest and currently holds an approximate 45% interest in the Project. The Bird River Project covers a strike length of 22 km of the Bird River Sill, which is host to two past producing mines and numerous mineralized zones of base and precious metals. Drilling to date has focused on 3 km at the eastern end of the Property. On January 15, 2009, two NI 43-101 compliant resource estimates were announced for the Ore Fault North Zone and the Page Block (see NR-09-01).

Samples consist of NQ-size drill core that are split by diamond saw on site, prepared at ALS Chemex Thunder Bay, and assayed by fire assay with an ICP-OES finish (for Pt, Pd and Au) and acid dissolution and ICP-OES finish for base metals at ALS Vancouver. Marathon's quality assurance-quality control (QA-QC) program consists of insertion of standards of known PGM content and duplicates every 40 samples. After sampling, the remaining half core is retained on site for future verification and reference purposes.

More Positive Results for Gossan's Zuliani Magnesium Process


WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwire - Sept. 29, 2009)

- Gossan Resources Limited (TSX VENTURE:GSS - News; FRANKFURT/FREIVERKEHR XETRA:GSR) continues to receive encouraging results from its ongoing investigation of the Zuliani Process for extraction of magnesium metal from dolomite. Phase II bench scale testing at Process Ortech (PRO) which was comprised of five tests has now been completed and Dr. Arthur Pelton of THERMFACT has been retained to assist in data analysis.

Phase III bench scale tests at Process Ortech are in the design and procurement stage with initial testing expected to be underway by the end of October.

The latest Phase II bench scale testing by Process Research Ortech (PRO) confirms the earlier conclusions from FactSage modeling that the Zuliani Process (the "Process") will produce magnesium metal under atmospheric conditions thereby avoiding the complexities and added costs associated with operating under vacuum as is required by the Pidgeon and Magnetherm processes. In addition, the Process is being configured to enable either a batch or a continuous operating mode to maximize productivity and efficiency.

The most recent experimental and modeling results confirm that the Process will produce magnesium metal at high raw materials efficiency by industry standards. In the PRO bench scale tests, magnesium was produced with a silicon to calcined dolomite reduction efficiency of 98.1%. This result is in excellent agreement (within 0.5%) of the efficiency predicted by the FactSage thermodynamic modeling reported by Dr Pelton of Ecole Polytechnique Montreal.

Dr. R. Sridhar, Ph.D., and Dr. V. I. Lakshmanan, Ph.D., of Process Research Ortech (PRO) supervised the Phase II Technical Report on the Zuliani Process and have reviewed and approved the contents of this press release.

Based on the current FactSage modeling work, the Zuliani Process has demonstrated calcined dolomite and silicon efficiencies both over 92%. At these efficiencies, raw material consumption is about 20% and 30% lower than for a typical Pidgeon plant operating in China.

With about 80% of global production, China is by far the world's dominant producer of magnesium.

These higher raw material efficiencies coupled with the use of hydro electricity would lower the environmental impact of magnesium production dramatically. Gossan has contracted Process Ortech to undertake a Carbon Emission Study for the Zuliani Process. Cap and Trade legislation pertaining to Green House Gas emissions in North America is widely anticipated to be introduced and mandated in the near future. This legislation may have a material effect on the project's economics.

Ich bin mir schon fast zu 95% sicher, dass Gossan von den Chinesen eingesackt wird. China würde sich bei der Magnesiumproduktion eine Monopolstellung einhandeln und damit die Weltmarktpreise diktieren können. Da ist alleine das Patent für das umweltfreundlichere und um 20-25% preiswertere Produktionsverfahren ein Mehrfaches des aktuellen Aktienpreises wert.

Most recently, Ms Mihychuk was an executive of the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada and HudBay Minerals.

Shareholders also approved the appointment of Meyers Norris Penny LLP, Chartered Accountants, as auditors of the Company. The matter of the approval of the Company's rolling stock option plan was withdrawn from the agenda.

The term of the engagement is for a minimum of 12 months and is renewable thereafter on a month to month basis. T2W is a Mississauga-based private company which is in the business of providing market liquidity services to listed issuers. Harold Hoff, the principal of T2W, has more than 10 years experience as a pro trader and market-maker for a major, bank-owned investment dealer.

Winnipeg, den 29. September, 2009 - Gossan Resources Limited (GSS-TSX,V & GSR-Frankfurt/Freiverkehr & Xetra), im Folgenden kurz Gossan oder die Gesellschaft genannt, gibt ihren Aktionären wie auch der Öffentlichkeit bekannt, dass neue, günstige und ermutigende Ergebnisse bezüglich der laufenden Untersuchung des Zuliani-Prozesses vorliegen. Dieser Prozess extrahiert metallisches Magnesium aus Dolomit. Soeben wurde die Phase II dieses Bench-Scale Tests abgeschlossen, ausgeführt von der Firma Process Ortech (kurz: PRO). Die Prüfprozesse bestanden aus fünf separaten Tests. Herr Dr. Arthur Pelton vom Unternehmen THERMFACT wurde anschließend gewonnen, um bei der Auswertung der Daten als Fach-Analyst mitzuwirken. In der Zwischenzeit laufen die Vorbereitungen für Phase III des Bench Scale Tests im Hause Process Ortech. Die notwendigen Entwürfe und Auslegungen sind beendet und die Beschaffungen und Einkäufe gehen ihrem Ende zu. Die ersten Testarbeiten sollen spätestens Ende Oktober beginnen.

Im letzten Stadium der Phase II konnte Process Research Ortech die früher schon von FactSage gewonnenen Ergebnisse und konstruierten Prozess-Modelle des Zuliani-Prozesses (kurz: "der Prozess") voll bestätigen. Demzufolge wird der Prozess tatsächlich metallisches Magnesium unter atmosphärischen Bedingungen erzeugen, wobei die Komplexität und die zusätzlichen Kosten, die die alten Gewinnungsprozesse Pidgeon und Magnetherm, die ein Vakuum benötigten, vermieden werden.

Damit nicht genug, der Prozess ist solcherart entworfen, dass er, im Gegensatz zu den bisherigen Prozessen wahlweise als Schubverarbeitung oder auch im kontinuierlichen Fortgang laufen kann. Damit werden Produktivität und Effizienz maximiert. Die neuesten Experimente und Modelle haben nunmehr voll bestätigt, dass der Prozess Magnesium in metallischer Form produziert, wobei die Ausbeute des eingesetzten Rohmaterials im Vergleich zu anderen industriellen Standardwerten sehr hoch ausfällt.

Im den PRO Bench Scale Tests wurde Magnesium produziert, indem Silicon eingesetzt wurde, um die kalzinierenden Elemente des Dolomits zu reduzieren. Der entsprechende Wirkungsgrad war 98,1%. Diese ersten Ergebnisse liegen voll im Trend mit den Effizienzen von 0,5%, die durch FactSage vorausgesagt worden waren.

Encouraging Field Program at Gossan's Separation Rapids Lithium Property

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, Oct 22, 2009 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- Gossan Resources Limited (GSS)(FRANKFURT/FREIVERKEHR XETRA:GSR) has compiled the results of a field program conducted at its 432-hectare Separation Rapids Lithium Property, located north of Kenora, Ontario and immediately adjacent to Avalon Rare Metals' Big Whopper property, one of the largest rare metal pegmatite deposits in the world. The field program included prospecting, line cutting, local geological mapping of newly-found outcrops, and the collection of 173 soil samples, 28 grab samples and 10 channel samples.

Prospecting and geological mapping identified a 50m to 100m wide zone with multiple, east-west trending, sub-parallel pegmatite sill-like bodies that range in width from a few centimetres to more than 5 metres. There is significant over-burden between outcrops and the zone trends into a peat bog at its eastern end. Three or perhaps four pegmatites within this zone have strike lengths greater than 25m and a width of at least a metre. A channel sample taken from the 5+ metre wide pegmatite assayed 0.86% lithium over 90cm. Two of the other pegmatites assayed 1.42% lithium in an 80cm channel sample and 0.80% lithium in a grab sample. Amongst the other assayed grab samples, the best returns were 0.50% and 0.95% lithium.

The soil sampling program utilized Soil Gas Hydrocarbon (SGH) Geochemistry that was analyzed by Activation Laboratories (Actlabs) of Ancaster, Ontario. SGH is a deep penetrating geochemistry that allows for analysis from various types of media. This technique was utilized to allow a potentially prospective 400m long peat bog to be sampled and analyzed along with regular soil samples from the remainder of the grid. Actlabs' SGH analysis identified a strong Level 5 lithium anomaly below the beat bog approximately 100m east of, and along strike of, the most eastern exposures of the three widest pegmatite sills that returned some of the highest lithium values from channel and grab samples. Soil Gas Hydrocarbon Geochemistry has not previously been utilized to target a Rare-Element Pegmatite. Pegmatit ist die Bezeichnung für die grobkörnige Varietät eines magmatischen Gesteins (“coarse-grained facies of any type of igneous rock” [1]). Die typische Korngröße liegt bei mehr als einem Zentimeter, doch sind auch Minerale mit Größen von weit über einem Meter keine Seltenheit.





Merkmale [Bearbeiten]

Die weitaus meisten Pegmatite sind granitischer oder alkaligranitischer Zusammensetzung und bestehen hauptsächlich aus den Mineralen Quarz, Feldspäten (Orthoklas, Mikroklin und natriumreicher Plagioklas) und Glimmern wie Biotit, Muskovit oder Lepidolith. Mengenmäßig untergeordnet, jedoch zum Teil wirtschaftlich sehr bedeutend, sind mafische und syenitische Pegmatite. Pegmatite bilden typischerweise gang- oder linsenförmige Gesteinskörper mit Mächtigkeiten in der Größenordnung einiger Dezimeter bis einiger Zehnermeter. Die Gänge können intern zoniert sein, das heißt bestimmte Minerale treten eher am Rand, andere im Kern des Pegmatits auf.
Pegmatit
Entstehung [Bearbeiten]

Schmelzen, die zur Pegmatitbildung führen, entstehen, wenn sich während der Kristallisation eines Plutons inkompatible Elemente wie Lithium, Seltene Erden, Thorium oder Uran, also allgemein nicht in die Kristallstruktur der gängigen gesteinsbildenden Minerale passende Bestandteile und zugleich leichtflüchtige Substanzen wie Wasser, Phosphor, Bor oder Fluor in der Restschmelze anreichern. Ein ähnlicher Prozess findet bei der partiellen Aufschmelzung von Gesteinen bei hochgradiger Metamorphose statt.

Durch die Gegenwart der leichtflüchtigen Bestandteile wird einerseits der Schmelzpunkt erheblich erniedrigt, so dass die Schmelze erst bei einer Temperatur von ungefähr 450 °C erstarrt, andererseits wird sie leichtflüssiger, die Viskosität ist also deutlich erniedrigt [2]. Beides ist wichtig, damit sich die Schmelze entlang von Klüften im Gestein vom Entstehungsort fortbewegen kann, oft sogar viele Kilometer.
Klassifikation [Bearbeiten]
Pegmatit.

Aufgrund ihrer chemischen Zusammensetzung, des Mineralinhalts und ihrer Entstehungsumgebung (metamorphe Fazies) lassen sich (granitische) Pegmatite in verschiedene Klassen unterteilen [3].

* Abyssale Pegmatite: Entstehen durch Anatexis in amphibolit- bis granulitfazieller Umgebung und enthalten nur selten Minerale der Elemente U, Th, Zr, Nb, SEE. Unzählige Pegmatite dieser Klasse findet man in den hochmetamorphen Gebieten der präkambrischen Schilde weltweit.
* Muskovit-Pegmatite: Entstehen durch Anatexis unter amphibolitfaziellen Bedingungen. Sie enthalten gelegentlich Li-, Be-, Ti-, Nb-, Ta-, U-, Th- und SEE-Minerale und sind eine Quelle der industriellen Muskovit-Produktion.
* Seltenelement-Pegmatite: Entstehen durch fortschreitende Fraktionierung granitischer Magmen in Oberer Grünschiefer- Unterer Amphibolit-Fazies. Häufig Minerale von Li, Rb, Cs, Be, Ga, SEE, Sn, Ti, U, Th, Hf, Nb und Ta. Seltenelement-Pegmatite werden je nach Mineralogie weiter unterteilt in 1) Seltenerd-Pegmatite (Allanit, Monazit, Gadolinit); 2) Beryll-Pegmatite (Beryll, Columbit); 3) Komplexe (Li-) Pegmatite (Spodumen, Petalit, Amblygonit, Lepidolit); 4) Albit-Spodumen-Pegmatite (Spodumen); 5) Albit-Pegmatite.
* Miarolitische Pegmatite: Bilden Taschen in hypabyssalen Plutonen und stellen gewisserweise eine Niedrigdruckvariante der Seltenelement-Pegmatite dar.

Aus Pegmatiten werden industriell bedeutsame Minerale und seltene Elemente wie Bor, Beryllium und Lithium gewonnen. Zuweilen befinden sich darin auch Schmucksteine wie Topas, Rauchquarz, verschiedene Turmaline oder Beryll. Aufgrund ihres gangförmigen Auftretens, der ungleichmäßig verteilten Mineralisation und des zumeist geringen Volumens spielen Pegmatite im weltweiten Vergleich als Lagerstätte nur eine kleinere Rolle. Mineraliensammler schätzen Pegmatite aufgrund ihrer gelegentlich sehr seltenen und/oder außergewöhnlich großen Minerale.

Wichtige Beispiele sind der zwei Kilometer lange und 45 bis 60 Meter mächtige Bikita-Pegmatit in Simbabwe, der zu den größten Lagerstätten von Lithium, Cäsium und Beryllium der Welt gehört. Im Altai-Gebirge in der Mongolei existiert ein 20 bis 70 Kilometer breiter Schwarmgürtel, in dem sich auf einer Länge von rund 450 Kilometern zahlreiche Pegmatitfelder und Schwärme aufreihen. Hier werden besonders Lagerstätten der Seltene-Erden-Metalle abgebaut. Die Pegmatite von Bancroft (Ontario) und die riesigen Lagerstätten von Rössing in Namibia werden besonders wegen ihres Gehaltes an Uran abgebaut.

Ich sag nur noch "Big Whopper"!

Langsam können wir alles für die zukünftigen Elektroautos liefern.

Neben den in riesigen Massen vorhandenen Magnesium-Lagern (ultraleichter Aluminium- und Stahl-Ersatzstoff) kommen jetzt die für leistungsstarke Autobatterien benötigten Lithium-Reserven in die GOSSAN-Thematik. Vielleicht ist ja auch das für leistungsstarke Antriebsmotoren benötigte seltene Metall NEODYM auch noch vorhanden; dann könnte ja gleich eine Elektroauto-Fabrik dort realisiert werden.

Meiner Meinung nach wird Gossan sich zum absoluten Performance-Wert entwickeln. Jetzt jagt man öfter mal ne News-Sau durchs Dorf, damit sich die Aktie im Kurs vervielfachen kann und möglichst wenig Verwässerung bei der nächsten Finanzierung stattfindet.

Das war nicht immer der Fall - es gab manchmal nur 1 Handel in der Woche.

Zumindest ist sie neu seit dem ich das letztemal geschaut hab und das ist eine Weile her.

Die alte war echt nicht der Hit ohne das ich damit jemanden nahe treten will.

Habe die News vom 22.Oktober nochmals durchgelesen und festgestellt, dass Gossan nicht im Besitz von Big Whopper ist sondern dass Big Whopper der Minengesellschaft Avalon Rare Metalls (TSX:AVL) gehört. Die Liegenschaften von Gossan grenzen an "Big Whopper" an. Abnormalitäten des 432 Hektar großen "Separation Rapids Lithium Property" sollen in diesem Winter näher untersucht werden.

Gossan hat also den Lithium-Hype noch vor sich, sobald diesbezüglich positive Ergebnisse vorliegen.
