Juli 2005 - Wie IFEX Innovation Finance & Equity Exchange NV (ISIN: NL0000210532) heute mitteilte, stimmten die Anteilseigner der Gold Rock Creek Enterprises ("GRCE"), die wiederum Eigentümer des Bahamas Film Studios Project ist, einem Vertrag zu, wonach die GRCE-Geschäftstätigkeit in die an der NASDAQ OTC notierte Gesellschaft überführt wird.

IFEX führte Beratungsleistungen aus und stellte die Kontakte zu Beratern und Maklern her, die für eine einfache Umsetzung der Konvertierung der GRCE-Geschäfte in eine US-amerikanische Aktiengesellschaft sorgen werden.

Mit der Notierung an der NASDAQ OTC in Q3 2005 erhält IFEX dafür ein Honorar in Höhe von 1,5 Millionen US-Dollar in Form von Aktien der neuen Gesellschaft.

Hamilton, Bermuda: 20 January 2004 - Ashby Corporation Limited (AHBY BH)announces the following to the Bermuda Stock Eschange (BSX):

‘The Bahamas Film Studios’, a state-of-the-art film studio facility and entertainment complex, is currently well into development on the Island of Grand Bahama, The Bahamas.This film production complex and tourism destination forms part of the operations of Gold Rock Creek Enterprises Ltd., an Ashby Company. The initial site cleanup of the decommissioned US Air Force Missile Base is almost complete and preparations are underway for the environmental analysis of the site. Many Bahamians are already employed by Gold Rock Creek Enterprises and most of the heavy equipment in Grand Bahama’s east end is on site, preparing for the next phase; the renovation of existing buildings and construction of the new facility.


When completed The Bahamas Film Studios will have a significant positive impact on the economy of the Bahamas. The project creators say: “The studios will bring exciting opportunities to The Bahamas and will create a domino-like effect for numerous spin-off businesses. Craig Woods, the Bahamas Film Commissioner, is quoted as saying, “As part of the Bahamas Government initiative to provide a more diverse economy, we welcome the opportunity to partner with Gold Rock Creek Enterprises in supporting the development of such a state-of-the-art film studio facility on Grand Bahama Island. The Ministry of Tourism and The Bahamas Film Commission consider this project a major coup, as it will not only assist in the establishment of a bona fide film industry that encompasses cutting-edge technology, but it will most definitely improve the state of the local film industry. This project will provide employment, new skill development, increased film production and overall international exposure.”


Gold Rock Creek Enterprises Ltd. has created a master plan that will incorporate a film and television production and post-production facility as well as a music-recording studio, with specific other phases which will include a movie theme park, a water park, restaurants, retail stores, an historic Bahamian Village and much more. The Bahamas Film Studios will become a defining landmark in The Bahamas. Film production will not be limited to the Freetown facility alone, as Gold Rock Creek plans to work closely with the Port Authority to utilize locations throughout Grand Bahama.


The $76 million investment was approved in principal in 2001, and in 2003 The Rt Hon Prime Minister Perry G. Christie, along with Hon Minister, Allyson Maynard-Gibson, Minister of Financial Services and Investments, formally announced the project. At that time, an agreement for the construction of the film production facility and entertainment complex was signed. Representing Gold Rock Creek Enterprises at the signing were Hans J. Film Studio Denies Claims In Law Suit

The Bahamas Film Studios at Gold Rock Creek has branded as "erroneous" a report by the Associated Press regarding a purported lawsuit against the company for allegedly failing to make lease payments for the land it operates on in Grand Bahama.
The company was reportedly being sued by a company with a similar name, Bahamas Film Studios Inc.

The Associated Press said that according to the lawsuit, which was filed on Friday, the studio has been in financial turmoil, projects have been undercapitalized and it owes significant debts to various investors.

AP also said Tennessee investment banker Ross N. Fuller, who is also named as a defendant in the lawsuit, agreed to sell 100 percent of the studio’s shares to The Bahamas Film Studios Inc. in 2005. In exchange, the AP said, the company agreed to take over defendant Ashby Bahamas Holdings Ltd.’s debts.

But AP also said Ronald Weil, an attorney for The Bahamas Film Studios Inc., said the shares were never turned over.

But in a release issued on Wednesday, Gold Rock Creek Enterprises Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ashby Holdings Ltd., said it has paid its lease on the 3,500-acre facility up to date.

Ross N. Fuller, an officer of Gold Rock Creek Enterprises Ltd., said the control person for the plaintiff, Bahamas Film Studios Inc., was not an appropriate investor for The Bahamas.

"He engaged a minor law firm in Florida to bring these frivolous charges," the company said of Bjorn Monteine.

Attempts to contact Paul Quigley, President of Gold Rock Creek Film Studios at Gold Rock Creek, were unsuccessful.

The Bahamas Film Studios, which signed a lease agreement last year with the government to provide for the use of the land in East Grand Bahama, has said it will produce commercials, feature films, TV series, music, in-house productions etc. The studio is also expected to have viewing galleries so visitors can watch commercials or shows being filmed

Pirates of the Caribbean II and III were shot simultaneously at the studios.

The eastern end of Grand Bahama is to get an economic boom with the construction of a $70-million dollar recording studio and entertainment complex to create a competitive Bahamian film industry.

On Wednesday at Cabinet Office, the Government and German investors Gold Rock Creek Enterprises Ltd. signed agreements for construction of a permanent motion picture, television and recording facility and related theme park at the old U.S. Air Force Missile Base at Freetown.

The investment is expected to create at least 1,200 jobs and $8 million annually in salaries after paying out $6.5 million on one-time wages for approximately 300 construction workers. The developer has committed to securing $250 million in production funding, and forging a partnership with Bahamas Technical Vocational Institute in Grand Bahama.

The project was originally approved, in principle, in May, 2001, under the Free National Movement administration.

Minister of Financial Services and Investment Allyson Maynard-Gibson said both the current and previous governments worked to bring to fruition the development of a state-of-the-art music, movie and TV studio complex, and a 130-room hotel, restaurant and retail space, a Bahamian village and other amenities on 3,500 acres.

Phase one of the project an environmental study of the area, will start immediately. Phases two and three are to completed over a two-year period.

The project would also provide an opportunity to showcase Bahamian talent through singers, artists, craft makers and others in related tourist fields.

Chairman and CEO of Gold Creek Hans Schutte said the agreement-signing ceremony showed the Governmen can assist foreign and private investment and new ventures to come to The Bahamas.

The Bahamas is the only country in this region the New York-based company has chosen to invest in, Mr. Schutte said, and it would one of many as "other companies discover the streamlined assistance provided by the Government and Bahamian people at all levels of the society."

He said that the project will use skills available in The Bahamas, and will not compete with existing hotels and other forms of entertainment that attract tourists, foreign productions and major stars to the complex.

Though the project would call for some foreign labour, Mr. Schutte said that the company will provide on-the-job training in the arts and sciences from animation to cinematography, set design and lighting, sound technology and other related skills.

"We see enormous benefits not only to east end Grand Bahama and the island but to the entire Bahamas as a whole," Mr. Schutte said.

"As Minister of Tourism I am particularly pleased because of the fact that large numbers of films companies and producers have been scouting The Bahamas in search for opportunities. Now, hundreds, on a yearly basis have spend thousands of dollars with us in filming The Bahamas, but now we will have a permanent studio," Obie Wilchcombe said.

Asked by The Guardian whether the studio is a sound investment in these uncertain economic times, Mr. Schutte said he and his partners, with more than 100 years experience in the business, have been very diligent in calculating not only income but employment expenses.

"We have a high interest in training Bahamian people in bringing them to the jobs that need to be fulfilled. We have a high interest in having low cost of employment and labour involved, but also because we strongly believe that a highly educated labour force is what the Government intends to create," Mr. Schutte said.

Dear Film Partner,

The Bahamas Film and Television Commission is very optimistic about the
future as we see tremendous opportunities on the horizon for a myriad of
prospects coming to the Islands of The Bahamas.

What has spurred these interests in our location seems obvious to me, as we
have had several of the top franchise productions from Hollywood film here.
This has been a bonanza for the development of our local crews, allowing
them to work with some of the top professionals in the business. The Islands
of The Bahamas is well on the way to building a strong indigenous film
industry. Most would agree that the best way to do this is to have Bahamians
work in tandem with seasoned industry experts. The film industry has long
been a craft business; hence, we in the Bahamas feel the learning curve for
development could be a short one, as Bahamians have been great craftsmen for
many years. From boat building, to the construction of luxury hotels, our
labor force has made a noticeable impact in the development of our number
one industry tourism. We see the same zeal from our people as we look to
build our film industry.

For the first time we have in production a full feature Bahamian film,
written, produced and directed by a Bahamian who has been able to finance
her project both at home and abroad. This development will definitely lead
other aspiring young Bahamian filmmakers to pursue their dreams. At the
commission we see a growing interest by our filmmakers to stir their
creative juices to tell the Bahamian story in a compelling fashion. This
ambition will reap much fruit in the coming years, as we look to have
Bahamian first and second unit crews, experienced enough to rival any
production crew on the planet. The reorganization of The Bahamas Film
Studios at Gold Rock Creek will play a pivotal role in the ongoing training
and education of young Bahamian filmmakers. This vast resource with the
worlds largest open water marine tank for filming has the potential to
position our location as the dominate force in water-based film production.

Ashby Corporation Bahamas Studio Sale Update


Hamilton, Bermuda, March 15, 2007 – In an announcement made to the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Ashby Corp (AHBY BH) a Bermuda public company trading on the Bermuda Stock Exchange announces that the Memorandum of Agreement that they entered into with Bahamas FilmInvest International (BFI) for the sale of their Bahamas Film Studio has lapsed and BFI has defaulted under the terms of that agreement. Specifically they did not make payments to an environmental firm that they had warranted to do, they failed to obtain governmental approvals within the time frame of the agreement, they failed to agree on closing documents, and they did not negotiate an acceptable extension. Ashby is now seeking other offers for its project.

Schauen durch James Bondaugen bei den Bahamas -- Schauplatz des Mittels 007's der Wahl für sechs Filme -- alles kann sehen sind Meilen Blauglas Meer und glatte weiße Strände, die für vollkommene Frauen der Bettwäsche in den mikroskopischen Bikinis gebildet werden.

Der der Bahamas idyllische Charme, bloße 50 Meilen vom USfestland, ist lang ein Sireneanruf zu Hollywood gewesen und grosse Geldverdiener wie 2006's „Kasino Royale“ und zwei der drei Ratenzahlungen in den Buena Vista „Piraten von den karibischen“ Vorrecht, „Piraten 2006's angelockt der Karibischen Meere: Kasten des toten Mannes“ und die upcoming „Piraten der Karibischen Meere: Am Ende der Welt.“

Kürzlich obwohl, es Mühe im Paradies gegeben hat. Vor voller hat Disney von plünderndem Milliondollarwert der hydraulischen Ausrüstung, der schädigenden gepflasterten Bereiche und des Verlassens hinter Wert $250.000 der unbezahlten Rechnungen für Elektrizität, Telefonen und Sicherheit und einem Jahr, Ashby eingeordnete Klage gegen Disney in den Bahamas für Wiederaufnahme der unbezahlten Rechnungen beschuldigt. Er erreichte sogar ein Pfandrecht gegen das Pirat Geistschiff, der Fliegende Holländer, der an einer Disney-besessenen Insel in den Bahamas angekoppelt wird.

Dieser Geist von Mitarbeit ist ein langer Weg gegangen, wenn er Hauptproduktionen in die Bahamas anzog. Eine Sache, die aus der staatlichen Aufsicht heraus jedoch bleibt ist das Wetter. Die Bahamian Filmindustrie lebt noch mit dem Gedächtnis des Hurrikans Wilma im Oktober 2005, das herauf die Winde peitschte, die so stark sind wie 185 Meilen pro Stunde -- Schlagzeilen als einer der oberen fünf teuersten Stürme bilden überhaupt notiert im Atlantik. Wilma verursachte Wert $100 Million der Beschädigung zur großartigen Bahama Insel, eine schwankende Summe, die fortfährt, weg von den Hauptstudioproduktionen zu erschrecken, entsprechend Holz.

„In den letzten Jahren, möchten einige Produktion Firmen nicht, wo ein Hurrikan stattfinden könnte,“ ihn schießen sagt. „Versicherungsgesellschaften stellen nicht Versicherung zur Verfügung. „Unser Hauptgeschäft ist kommerzielle Eintragfäden,“ sagt Holz. „Es schießen alle Zeit, weil ihr Fenster so kurz ist. Es können innen und heraus sein, bis sie aufspüren einen Sturm fünf Tage entfernt.“

Ehemann-und-Frau Mannschaft, Verfasserdirektor Stewart Raffill und Produzent Diane Kirman, verbrachten fünf Wochen in den Inseln dieser Frühling schießende „Sirenen von Eleuthera,“ ein Niedrigetat Thriller, der James Brolin starring ist. Kirman sagt, daß die Paare mit den Bahamas, als sie „überleben Insel filmten,“ ein Tätigkeitabenteuer Film starring Billy Zane smitten wurden, der Sendung auf Showtime letztes Jahr war, und sie versuchen, Finanzierung für ein drittes Eigenschaftfilm Projekt zu erhalten, das in die Inseln eingestellt wird.

„Ich bin ein Ventilator der Bahamas, 101%,“ sagt sie. „Es gibt Inselzeit, und du kannst nicht in Anstürme sein. Du schlägst hier mit dem Schritt von L.A. oder von New York, und du mußt justieren. Sachen geschehen hier an einem anderen Schritt, aber sie geschehen.“

Eine Rechnung, die den Rabattanreiz im Gesetz kodifizieren würde, wird erwartet, um vor Parlament zu gehen dieser Sommer.

Sogar mit dem anspornenden Entfernen des Rabatts, muß die Bahamas noch seine tatsächliche Beschränkung als Filmposition überwinden. Ja bieten die Inseln pristine Wasser und Kolonialarchitektur an -- aber nicht viel sonst. Vor Goldfelsen-Nebenfluss-Unternehmen, die eine 50-Jahr-Miete auf Regierung unterzeichneten Land, als es zum Schäferhund das Projekt fünf Jahren verursacht wurde, hatten ehrgeizige Pläne für das BFS, aber nur den Behälter wurden durchgeführt ausgearbeitet.

Voller, die auch CEO des Nashville-gegründeten Investitionunternehmens Stockton ist, voller u. Co., sagt, daß er noch die $80 Million, die ausübt es nimmt, um das Projekt durchzuführen, jetzt geschätzt, um $100 Million zu kosten. Er sagt, daß Goldfelsen-Nebenfluß „balanciert wird, um auf irgendeiner neuer Investition zu nehmen“ und nimmt das Mieten des Behälters zu zwei Filmen vorweg, die das Greenlighting erwarten.

Er addiert, daß die Firma eine mögliche Joint Venture mit einem Themapark Entwickler bespricht, und voller sagt auch, daß er errichtet eine Filmschule hofft, die der Grundstein einer auftauchenden lokalen Industrie sein würde „, zum einer eingeborenen Filmindustrie in den Bahamas zu entwickeln, denen wir glauben haben eine helle Zukunft.“

In der Tat wickelte die erste in voller Länge eingeborene Eigenschaft früh dieses Jahr auf. Bahamas gebürtige Maria Govan schrieben und Co-verwiesen „Regen,“ ein Muttertochter Drama mit einer lokalen und internationalen Form, die durch CCH Pounder und Irma P. Hall vorangegangen wurde. Der Film $1 Million geschossen für vier Wochen in Eleuthra und in der neuen Vorsehung, Nassau, sowie New York.

„Es ist aufregend, daß jemand die Bahamian Geschichte, weil wir einige wundervolle Geschichten haben,“ Holz sagt erklärt.
