      u.a. mit geophysikalischen/radiometrischen Übersichten,

      http://www.pinetreecapital.com/detail.asp?ID=38

      Weitere Projekte:
      - Bekisopa iron-ore-deposit property in Madagascar
      - Cline Lake gold property in the Wawa, Ontario gold camp
      - 3 grosse Kohleprojekte, weshalb auch u.a. Thyssen - Krupp an Cline beteiligt war.

The URAMAD Morondava Uranium Project comprises eight permits with a combined area of some 9,993.75 square kilometers. The Property is located in the Morondava Basin of western Madagascar, which is filled with the uranium favourable Karoo Supergroup continental sediments. The Uranium Properties were earlier held by Cogema (CEA) of France which carried out extensive exploration work, with additional work being carried forward by the United Nations Development Programme ("PUND") and OMNIS. URAMAD has obtained the databases from this work which include an extensive earlier airborne survey (some 7,000 radioactive anomalies) and 83,000 metres of drilling in 790 drill holes with indicated uranium values and visible uranium mineralization.

Cline Mining - The Insiders are Buying, and so am I

Posted in Stock Recommendations, CMK.TO - Cline Mining Corp. by JDH on the January 2nd, 2007

At the suggestion of some posters on this blog, I am providing my detailed thoughts on CMK.TO - Cline Mining Corp.

According to the company, “Cline Mining Corporation is a mine development company focused on the exploration and development of uranium and iron-ore in Madagascar, gold in Canada and metallurgical coal in Canada for the international seaborne coal trade market.”

Why the interest in Cline? Simple: one of it’s shareholders is PNP.TO - Pinetree Capital Corp. According to the Pinetree Web Site as of September 30, 2006 Pinetree owned 9.5% of Cline, which gives Pinetree 5.8 million shares out of the almost 61 million shares outstanding. (As of today, according to Cline’s Web Site, there are 63 million shares outstanding, plus another 6 million warrants and 3.5 million options). According to the SEDI Insider Trading Reports, Pinetree has made the following recent purchases of Cline shares:

      * November 8 - 700,000 shares at 45 cents
      * December 20 - 307,500 shares at 29 cents
      * December 20 - 100,000 shares at 29.5 cents
      * December 21 - 100,000 shares at 35 cents

These numbers make sense. On November 8 there was a volume spike; 782,300 shares were traded, and obviously 700,000 of them were purchased by Pinetree.

This means that Pinetree now owns, according to SEDI, 7,007,600 shares as of December 21, 2006, or 11% of the total shares outstanding, so they now own more than 10% of the shares outstanding, which for reporting purposes is a very significant number.

Why are we talking about Cline now? Because for the last three months the average volume traded on Cline was 211,000 shares traded per day. On Friday December 29 the volume spiked to 4.5 million shares, or around 7% of the outstanding shares.

Why the big spike in volume? I’m not sure. I do know that Cline Mining Corp. completed its reverse take-over transaction of UMC Energy PLC on December 22, giving it a 40 per cent in that company, in exchange for its 80 per cent stake in a company that owns the Morondava uranium property in Madagascar. But that is old news, and would not account for a spike a week later.

There are only two logical explanations for this spike. The first explanation is that Pinetree was doing a lot of buying on Friday. A review of the trading activity on Friday reveals that the first trade of the day apears to have been for over 200,000 shares at 38 cents, and they kept buying for most of the morning at prices up to 55 cents around 10:30 in the morning. By the afternoon volume had dropped to normal levels, so presumably Pinetree had finished their buying for the day.

The second explanation is that somebody else was doing a lot of buying. Perhaps Mr. Dines? We know that Dines is very tight with Pinetree management, and we know that Dines has recommended many of the companies that Pinetree owns (such as CHX.V - Cash Minerals Ltd., Continental Precious Minerals, MGA.TO - Mega Uranium Ltd., TVC.V - Tournigan Gold Corp., and URE.TO - Ur-Energy, Inc.).

Obviously Mr. Dines has no hesitation in picking up the phone and talking to management of the companies he invests in, and obviously he is capable of reading the same insider trading reports that all of the rest of us can access on the SEDI Insider Trading Report Web Site. Dines, or someone else, may be buying in anticipation of further buying by Pinetree.

Of course this is pure speculation on my part; I have no insider information; I have never met Mr. Dines; I have never met anyone who works at Pinetree; I have never met anyone in the uranium industry.

I should also point out that I am not saying any of this is illegal, or even wrong. Dines probably has the ear of Pinetree management, and vice versa, but they are also required to disclose all insider trading activity, which they do. You can see a list of all investments that Pinetree holds valued at more than $500,000, or totalling more than 10% of the subsidiary’s outstanding stock, on the Pinetree Web Site. And you can hunt around and find a list of insider transactions with Pinetree on the SEDI Insider Trading Report Web Site, so most of the information is there if you choose to look for it. I suspect because Dines keeps track of this stuff, he knows about it first.

(Of course a pessimist would say that given the December 4 press release where Pinetree announced that it had been advised by the Ontario Securities Commission that it and Sheldon Inwentash (its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer) are the subjects of investigations involving manipulative trading in securities of Treat Systems Inc. and Brownstone Ventures Inc., allegations of insider trading are nothing new for Pinetree, but I digress).

So, what does all of this mean? Canadian securities regulations require all insiders to file an insider trading report within 10 days of the trade, so if this volume spike was insider buying we will know about it shortly.

My guess? Where there’s smoke there is fire. Somebody’s buying, and the basic laws of supply and demand mean that this stock is headed higher. If it’s Mr. Dines doing the buying, when The Dines Letter gets around to recommending it, the stock will soar, exactly as happened with SAN.V - Santoy Resources Ltd. and MAW.V - Mawson Resources Ltd. If Pinetree is the buyer, when they file their further insider reports later this week that may also cause a big uptick.

Upticks are good, so I’m buying, but since this is pure speculation on my part, and since Cline already had a big run on Friday, I’m only putting a small amount of money in Cline, for now.

I’m interested in our readers thoughts on my thought process, so please post your comments on the Cline Message Board on the Buy Now Sell Higher Forum.

Dead Is coal for now, but its down but not out. The meetings a month ago in SE BC went very well
...its in the hands of the sitting legislature.......this could be the surprise of the year.

Cline Announces Bekisopa Magnetic and Radiometric Airborne Results

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Mar 13, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

Cline Mining Corporation ("Cline" or the "Company")(TSX: CMK) announces that it has completed the technical evaluation of a magnetic and radiometric airborne survey carried out by FUGRO in the south central area of Madagascar covering Cline's existing Bekisopa iron ore property ("Beki East"), and additionally an area of 881.25 square kilometers to the west ("Beki West"), over which Cline has now acquired the exclusive reservation rights (Autorisation Exclusive De Reservation De Perimetre Minier).

The airborne survey and data analysis identified ten extensive and significant new iron anomalies on Becki West which each carry a similar iron mineralization 'footprint' to Cline's Beki East iron property. Cline intends to convert its exclusive reservation rights over the iron ore anomalies into Permis Recherche issued by the Government of Madagascar. The Beki East and Beki West iron ore properties are owned by Cline's wholly owned subsidiary, Iron Ore Corporation of Madagascar SARL ("IOCM"). The data analysis and report (the "Spector Report") on the airborne survey were carried out for Cline by Dr. Allan Spector, a Qualified Person for the purposes of National Instrument 43-101.

      IRON (MAGNETIC AIRBORNE SURVEY)

The Spector Report identifies ten isolated zones of elevated magnetite content in Beki West which range between 2 kilometres and 15 kilometres in length. The Spector Report has assigned priorities for ground follow-up according to the magnetic strength of each zone. Three zones have been assigned first priority, five zones second and two zones third priority. These zones are located sequentially over a length of fifty kilometers north to south and within a 45 kilometer band east to west. The depth below ground and magnetic amplitude for the identified zones areas follows:

      Zone Depth Magnetic
      Amplitude
      -------------------------------------------
      A1 800 metres 800 nT
      A2 300 metres 600 nT
      A3 200 metres 800 nT
      A4 100 metres 700 nT
      A5 0 meters 900 nT
      B 0 meters 600 nT
      C 0 meters 500 nT
      D 0 meters 500 nT
      E 0 meters 600 nT
      G 0 metres 400 nT

Addressing the zones of anomalous magnetization, Dr. Spector states that "In view of their high magnetization, zones A3, A4 and A5 are given the highest priority for follow-up investigation as prospective iron ore deposits. However, if non-magnetic hematite is a constituent of some of these zones, then intensity of magnetization can only yield an underestimate of iron content. Gravity surveying across these zones would be useful in better estimating iron content as a preliminary to actual drill testing."

The objective of the work and acquisition of Beki West is to increase the iron ore resources in the Bekisopa area by adding substantially to the historical iron ore resources reported on Beki East to support a large scale iron ore development by Cline.

As reported previously by Cline, its Beki East iron ore property was acquired under a Permis Recherche issued by the government of Madagascar together with the database covering the extensive previous exploration. Beki East covers an area of 25 square kilometres and has been subject to detailed exploration and evaluation work under programs carried out by the French mineral exploration company, BRGM, the Government of Madasgascar and the United Nations (development program). The Beki East database reports the iron formations as primarily magnetite. Additional information on the historical work carried out on the Bekisopa iron ore property is available on the Company's website.

      URANIUM (RADIOMETRIC AIRBORNE SURVEY)

The FUGRO airborne survey on Beki West included a radiometric spectrometer survey over a large part of the Beki West property. The radiometric data recorded twenty zones on Beki West of anomalous uranium radioactivity, which Dr. Spector recommends Cline follow for uranium exploration, stating that "Several of these are correlated with structure which can often be a controlling mechanism for uranium concentration". Five of the zones are along NE-SW cross faults and five along significant NNW-SSE regional fault structures.

The Report of Dr. Spector, together with the map detailing the aeromagnetic and radioactivity zones will be posted on the Cline website.

Cline drills average 20.3 feet of 0.17 ounce/ton Au

      2007-04-10 10:50 ET - News Release

      Mr. Ken Bates reports

CLINE LAKE DRILLING FIRST RESULTS-INCREASED FINANCING

Cline Mining Corp. has provided initial drill and assay results from the core drilling program on its Cline Lake gold property located near Wawa, Ont., Canada. The drilling program is being carried out by Heath and Sherwood Drilling Ltd. of Kirkland Lake in Ontario under the direction of Dale M. Hendrick, PEng, a director of Cline and a qualified person for the purposes of National Instrument 43-101. To date, five holes have been completed with the sixth hole currently in progress, representing approximately 10,500 feet of drilling.

Assays for the first three holes have been received from Swastika Assay Laboratories of Swastika, Ont. Significant gold mineralization has been intersected in DDH CL 06-1 where an intersection averaged 0.174 ounce per ton gold over 20.3 feet including 0.509 ounce per ton Au over 6.5 feet. In DDH CL 07-2, the deepest and third hole on Section 3500 E, three high-grade intersections averaged 0.59 ounce per ton Au over 7.6 feet, 2.17 ounces per ton Au over 2.3 feet and 0.276 ounce per ton Au over 5.9 feet. All of these gold intercepts exhibited "free" visible gold.

The second hole in the program, CL 07-1, intersected a crosscutting diabase dike in the area of the gold targets, and no significant gold values and/or mineralization was intersected.

Below is a summary table of results.

Location Azimuth Dip From To Length Oz/ton
DDH (feet) (degrees) (degrees) (feet) (feet) (feet) Au

      CL 06-1 3500E, 180 -55 862.0 882.3 20.3 0.17

      incl. 2,261.2 2,267.1 5.9 0.276

Note: Imperial units are presented since results from the historical database
for the Cline Lake gold property are all reported in imperial units.

Based on information published in the Canadian Mines Handbook, the Cline Lake gold mine produced 332,670 tons with an average recovered grade of 0.215 ounce per ton Au between 1936 to 1942 and 1947 to 1948.

Mr. Hendrick, PEng, reports that 3500E is the first completed drill section of the three to five sections to be drilled north to south at 1,000-foot intervals. Mr. Hendrick considers the increase in gold mineralization and assays in the deeper hole CL 07-2 as very encouraging as to the untested depth potential of the property.

The current program on the Cline Lake gold and Strike Edwards gold properties will continue to complete a minimum of 40,000 feet of diamond drilling at an estimated budget of $2-million.

The technical information contained in this news release has been prepared and approved by Mr. Hendrick, PEng, a qualified person for the purposes of National Instrument 43-101.

      Strike Edwards joint venture

As previously announced, Cline has also commenced drilling on the adjoining Strike Edwards gold property, immediately to the west of the Cline Lake gold property. Cline can earn up to a 12.5-per-cent joint venture interest in the Strike Edwards property by expending up to $350,000 on exploration on or before June 30, 2007. Cline has spent approximately $200,000 on Strike Edwards core drilling, from which complete assays are presently awaited. Three deep holes beneath the Edwards mine workings at 1,000-foot depths have been drilled to date.

      Flow-through private placement

The company has completed a non-brokered, flow-through, private-placement financing for a total of $750,000 through the sale of 1,875,000 flow-through units at a price of 40 cents per FT unit to the MineralFields Group. Each FT unit consisted of one flow-through common share and one-half, non-flow-through-share purchase warrant with one whole share purchase warrant entitling the holder to acquire one additional common share of Cline at a price of 90 cents per share for a period of 18 months.

In connection with this placement, Cline paid a cash finder's fee of 5 per cent of the total proceeds and granted options to purchase units equal to 7 per cent of the number of units subscribed for at a price of 40 cents per unit for a two-year period to Limited Market Dealer Inc. Each LMD unit would consist of one share and one-half, common-share purchase warrant entitling the holder to acquire one additional common share of Cline at a price of 90 cents per share for a period of 18 months.

The gross proceeds of the private placement is slated for exploration expenditures on the Cline Lake gold and the Strike Edwards gold properties.

Cline Acquires New Elk Coal Mine Rights

SUDBURY, ONTARIO, Jul 12, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

Cline Mining Corporation ("Cline" or the "Company") (TSX: CMK) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an Agreement with New Elk Coal Company LLC ("New Elk Company") under which Cline has acquired the right to purchase all of the existing mine and assets of the New Elk coal mine property which is located near the town of Trinidad in Los Animas County, Colorado, U.S.A. The total acquisition, capital and refurbishment costs for the mine have been estimated by the Company to be approximately $50 million and includes assumption of the current reclamation bond, and a royalty of U.S.1.00 per tonne of coal mined and sold by Cline. The arrangements include the right of Cline to review and evaluate the data bank and economic projections and complete a due diligence examination during the next ninety day period.

The New Elk Mine was opened in 1951 by CF&I Steel Company to provide metallurgical coal for its iron and steel blast furnace plant at Pueblo, Colorado, which was converted to an electric steel furnace operation after 1982. The New Elk Company reports the continued operation of the Mine through 1989, and the coal preparation plant, which was built in 1984 to increase product coal specifications, continued until 1996.

The New Elk Company property includes a comprehensive data and asset base, including historical and recent engineering reports with respect to coal resources, product qualities, mine headframe, shafts and access, workings, the coal preparation plant, coal rail load-out, continuous miners, roof bolters, electrics and long wall miner. The New Elk Coal Company Business Plan Report identifies 184 million tons of raw recoverable coal of which 137 million tons (non NI 43-101 Compliant). is clean saleable coal, contained in several seams with an average seam thickness of 7 to 8 feet. The coal is saleable as a high quality metallurgical coking coal for export to steel makers, or as a thermal coal for sale to local electric power generation stations.

The data and information in this news release has been taken from engineering reports on the mine prepared by JMC Engineering LLP, Peak Project Management LLP, Charles W. McLothlin P.E., Mining Consultant, Thomas Dupree, Geological Consultant and John T. Boyd Company, Mining Consultant. Cline proposes to commission a NI 43-101 Report on the mine.

Cline Mining Announces Additional Cline Lake Drilling Results

SUDBURY, ONTARIO, Jul 16, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

Cline Mining Corporation ("Cline" or the "Company") (TSX: CMK) is pleased to announce further drill and assay results from the core drilling program on its Cline Lake gold property located near Wawa, Ontario, Canada. The drilling program is being carried out by Heath and Sherwood Drilling Ltd of Kirkland Lake, Ontario under the direction of Dale M Hendrick P.Eng., a director of Cline and a Qualified person for the purpose of National Instrument 43-101.

The results of the program and new drilling strategy to test depths of up to 2,000 feet disclose important, consistent and extensive gold mineralization across the property. Diamond drill holes totalling 30,000 feet of have now been completed. The Cline Lake gold property had not previously been drilled to depth with historical exploration and production being confined to shallow drilling and workings.

Dale M Hendrick P.Eng reports that 15 diamond drill holes have been completed on the Cline Lake gold property with approximately 30,000 feet of NQ sized core drilling logged and sampled. As planned, north to south drill "fences" covering the property from West to East were completed on 6 sections located at 1000 foot section intervals. Sections were located at 500 East, 1500 East, 2400 East, 3500 East, 4600 East and 5500 East.

The drill program was designed to define the geological, structural and mineralizing environment extending beneath the old historical shallow mine workings to a depth of 2000 feet.

On the Cline Lake gold property, 4 shafts were sunk during the 1930's and according to information published in Canadian Mines Handbook the Cline Lake gold property produced 332,670 tons at a recovered grade of 0.215 opt gold with production coming from mine workings between surface to 500 feet vertically. The property is underlain by east-west interlayered steep dipping felsic and mafic volcanics that are intruded by sills and dykes of quartz porphyry hosting sulphide/quartz/ gold mineralization. A regional major structural event, the Edwards /Cline Shear dipping 60 degrees north, runs west to east across the Cline Lake property and appears to be the controlling feature that localizes quartz-sulpfide-gold mineralization within the porphyrys and volcanics. Visible "free" gold is seen frequently in the mineralized zones.

Assay results for 10 holes have been received from Swastika Assay Laboratories of Swastika Ontario and results for the initial 3 holes were reported in a News Release of April 10, 2007. Results from the remaining five drill holes are awaited to complete the current program.

A table which shows a summary of significant intersections from the 7 new holes follows:

Note: Imperial Units as opposed to their metric equivalent are presented
since results from the historical data base for the Cline Lake gold
property are all reported in Imperial Units.

Mr. Dale Hendrick P.Eng. recommends that the Company, carry out additional diamond drilling to depth to in-fill the above 1,000 foot drill section intervals, digitize and combine into the data base earlier historical drilling results by Noranda Exploration Company, Limited and Win-Eldrich Mines Ltd. and complete a NI 43-101 report on the property. The Company intends to follow the recommendation.

The technical information contained in this News Release has been prepared and approved by Dale Hendrick P.Eng. a Qualified Person for the purposes of National Instrument 43-101.

      Strike Edwards Joint Venture

As previously announced, in December 2006, Cline commenced a diamond drill program on the adjoining Strike Minerals Edwards gold property, which is contiguous to and to the west of the Cline Lake gold property. Pursuant to a joint venture agreement, Cline earns up to a 12.5% joint venture interest in the Strike Minerals Edwards gold property by expending up to $350,000 on exploration on or before June 30, 2007. Cline Mining Announces Strike Edwards Gold Drilling Results

SUDBURY, ONTARIO, Jul 25, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

Cline Mining Corporation ("Cline" or the "Company") (TSX: CMK) is pleased to announce drill and assay results from its core drilling program on the Strike Edwards joint venture gold property which is situated to the west and adjacent to Cline's wholly owned Cline Lake gold property near Wawa, Ontario. The drilling program was carried out by Heath and Sherwood Drilling Ltd of Kirkland Lake, Ontario and Superior Drilling of Dubreuville, Ontario under the direction of Dale M Hendrick P.Eng., a director of Cline and a Qualified Person for the purpose of National Instrument 43-101.

Pursuant to a joint venture agreement, previously announced in December 2006, Cline had the right to earn up to a 12.5% joint venture interest in the Strike Minerals Inc. ("Strike") Edwards gold property (the "Strike Edwards gold property") by expending up to $350,000 on exploration on or before June 30, 2007. The Strike Edwards gold property is contiguous to and lies to the west of the Cline Lake gold property. Cline was the operator, and on completion of this diamond drill program has earned its 12.5% joint venture interest in the property. In addition, Cline owns 2 million shares of Strike.

Nine(9) drill holes were drilled on the 3 claim Strike Edwards gold property for a total of 11,341feet. Four of the holes, ST 06-4 and 05 drilled in 2006 and ST 07-01 and 02 drilled in 2007 tested beneath the 900 foot underground level of the previously mined Porphyry and Carbonate Zones.

From 1997 to 2001, River Gold Mines Ltd ("River Gold") produced from the Porphyry and Carbonate Zones at the Strike Edwards Mine 140,138 ounces of gold and the ore was trucked 100 kms to the River Gold Magnacon Mill. (Reference Canadian Mines Handbook 1999 to 2003- River Gold Mines Ltd.). River Gold reported (Canadian Mines Handbook) that in 1997, the Edwards mine produced 63,000 tonnes and 30,414 oz gold and in 1998, the mine produced 34,200 tonnes and 12,851 0z gold. The calculated average grade for the 2 years initial production of 97,200 tonnes is 0.445 oz/Tonne gold.

A table which shows a summary of significant intersections
from the drill hole program follows:
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Location Azimuth Dip From To Length Oz/

      801.0 804.0 3.0 0.347
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The above results indicate the Porphyry and Carbonate zones are pinching out (1.5 feet of 0.427 opt.Au) but a new zone is appearing in the upper part of the holes that warrants additional drilling. Significant gold values in CL 07-14 indicate a new zone with more infill assay samples yet to come. More drilling is recommended.

Cline Identifies New High Density Gravity Zones on Bekisopa Iron Properties in Madagascar

SUDBURY, ONTARIO, Jul 30, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

Cline Mining Corporation ("Cline" or the "Company") (TSX: CMK) is pleased to announce the results of the work carried out by Dr. Allan Spector on recently acquired iron properties in southern Madagascar.

The Company, through its subsidiary Iron Ore Corporation of Madagascar SARL ("IOCM"), owns the Bekisopa iron ore property in south Madagascar and has been evaluating other iron prospects and related development opportunities in conjunction with its strategic partners, Mitsui Matsushima and ThyssenKrupp. The original Bekisopa permit covers an area of 25 square kilometres and has an extensive database of earlier exploration and test work prepared separately by BRGM, the French Government exploration company, the United Nations (Development Program) and the Government of Madagascar. The Company has recently acquired the exclusive exploration rights (Autorisation Exclusive De Reservation De Perimetre Minier) from the Madagascar Government covering an additional area of approximately 2,900 square kilometres to the west and south of the Bekisopa iron deposit, the objective being to increase the existing resources to the level of a world scale iron ore mine.

In June 2007 the Company completed an extensive investigation of geophysical airborne and ground surveys of areas west and south of Bekisopa to identify prospective geophysical features. Dr. Allan Spector, a Qualified Person for the purposes of National Instrument 43-101, carried out the ground geophysical investigations on the identified airborne anomalies and has now presented his report (the "Spector Report"). Dr. Spector carried out 21 detailed gravity and magnetometer surveys on approximately 60 km of lines.

Four prospective anomalies were located. Beki 2 and Beki 3 are in the neighbourhood, parallel to, but separated from the historic Bekisopa iron deposit (Beki 1).

      The Spector Report states that "The results shown (in Figure 5) demonstrate that the observed gravity features can be attributed to 3 high density zones, Beki 1, Beki 2 and Beki 3 each having a density contrast of 1.5gm/cc (iron formation versus quartzite) and each having a thickness of 50m. The bodies may be composed of varying blends of magnetite and non-magnetic hematite. Beki 3 is blind, iron formation is not evident at surface. The bodies are structurally controlled by a synformal structure. The gravity data was used to estimate total mass;

Beki 1 equals 575 million tons Beki 2 equals 575 million tons (assuming strike length of 5000m) Beki 3 equals 575 million tons (assuming strike length of 5000m) 1,725 million tons

Adopting the 150m level as the cut-off for open pit mining, the estimated total mass of the combined deposits is estimated to be 560 million tons.

The other geophysical prospects, zones C and F which lie 20 and 25 km southwest of Bekisopa, are described as follows:

      "2.9 Zone C

The data shown in Figure 4.9 appears to indicate a prospective iron zone, 3000nT magnetic relief and 1 mgal gravity anomaly. Thin bedded iron formation is observed in outcrop."

      "2.10 Zone F

A very prospective zone is indicated by the data in Figure 4.10; a 3 mgal gravity anomaly associated with 4500 nT relief. The geophysical features are strikingly similar to that observed over Bekisopa, i.e. a synformal structure."

Summary and recommendations of the Spector Report:

"In the Bekisopa Area we have identified 4 new iron prospects, Beki 2, Beki 3, Zone C and Zone F. These prospects merit drill testing to determine their economic significance."

The Company proposes to carry out the recommended drilling and exploration on its new Bekisopa area properties.

With respect to the original Bekisopa iron ore deposit owned by the Company (referred to as Beki 1 in the Spector Report), the data base reports the iron formations as being primarily magnetite with iron grades across the deposit at between 25 per cent and 65 per cent, averaging 45 per cent and the alluvial lateritic surface part of the deposit at grades of between 40 per cent and 65 per cent iron. The results reported include extractions in the order of 70 per cent by magnetic separation with an additional flotation unit. The United Nations data indicates that the resource tonnage of the deposit could approach 150 million tonnes, amenable to extraction by open pit methods.

The Company cautions that the resources referred to above are historical in nature, were compiled prior to the adoption of NI 43-101 and therefore are not compliant with NI 43-101 requirements. While the Company believes these historical results provide an indication of the potential of the property and are relevant to ongoing exploration, the Company has not independently analyzed the findings of the reports and no reliance should be placed on the findings of such reports.

The technical information contained in this News Release has been prepared and approved by Dr. Allan Spector a Qualified Person for the purposes of National Instrument 43-101.

      UMC ENERGY PLC

      CHAIRMAN’S STATEMENT

For the six months period ended 31 July 2007

The Company, through its subsidiary Uramad SA, holds eight exploration permits covering approximately 9,994 km2 located in the Morondava Basin, Madagascar.

The 2007 exploration program comprises both an airborne survey of some 19,000 line kilometres for the detection of uranium radiometric anomalies on the permits located in the Makay District and a 3,000 metre drilling program on the permits located in the Folakara District. Both the Makay District and the Folakara Distict are located in the Morondava Basin of Madagascar.

The drilling on the Folakara permit areas has been directed at verifying the presence of radiometric anomalies previously identified in the late 1950s by Cogema and others. This follows on from the encouraging uranium readings found in two of the six holes drilled in 2006, as reported previously.

To date 45 of the 60 holes planned for 2007 have been drilled. Drilling has been handicapped by unacceptably low core recoveries, as a result of the extremely friable porous sandstones in the uranium bearing zones. Remedial attention has been paid to this activity and specialized equipment, better suited to the recovery of very soft material, has been sourced. Regrettably, much of the drilling work may need to be repeated next dry season in order to obtain reliable data upon which to build improved geological knowledge of the uranium potential of the permit areas.

The airborne survey was completed in early October 2007. Results will be released as they become available.
