Empire Resources Limited ('Empire' or 'the Company') has an extensive tenement package prospective for uranium, copper and gold. The package, which covers an area of 1,723 square kilometres, also contains targets for nickel and platinum group metals. Sydney, May 09, 2007 (RWE via COMTEX) -- (RWE Australian Business News) Empire Resources Ltd (ASX code: ERL) today announced results of a 43-hole, 3223m reverse circulation drilling program undertaken during April at its wholly-owned Penny's Find Project, situated 50km northeast of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
Better intersections returned from this drilling include:
Hole PFRC07-12 - 19m at 9.36g/t gold from 19m;
PFRC07-15 - 8m at 11.07g/t gold from 75m;
PFRC07-17 - 17m at 6.88g/t gold from 41m;
PFRC07-18 - 6m at 12.20g/t gold from 55m;
PFRC07-19 - 7m at 7.80g/t gold from 68m;
PFRC07-28 - 7m at 8.91g/t gold from 89m;
PFRC07-32 - 8m at 22.58g/t gold from 20m; and
PFRC07-39 - 5m at 7.52g/t gold from 29m.
Managing director Mr David Sargeant stated: "With our latest drilling results we are confident of an expanded resource at Penny's Find which will provide a variety of commercial options.
"It is our intention to increase the level of exploration to determine the dimensions of this mineralisation, to explore other parts of the tenements and to move towards a mining development of the project."
The mineralisation at Penny's Find dipped between 45 and 55 degrees to the northeast and thus the intersected widths of mineralisation were believed to be close to true widths.
"These dip angles can be ideal for the development of shallow open-cut extraction and potentially enhances its commercial value," Mr Sargeant said.
Shares in Empire rose 0.5c to 22.5c today.
