Charys' Cotton Deploys in the Aftermath of California Wildfires
11/15/2007
ATLANTA, Nov 15, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Charys Holding Company, Inc. ("Charys" or the "Company") (Pink Sheets: CHYS), a provider of restoration and reconstruction and wireless communications and data infrastructure services, today announced its wholly-owned subsidiary Cotton Companies ("Cotton") has deployed teams and equipment for several fire restoration contracts. These jobs are expected to aggregate approximately $1.4 million in revenue.
In late October a series of wildfires swept across Southern California from Santa Barbara County to the US-Mexico border. In total more than 500,000 acres of land burned and over 2,000 residential and commercial properties were damaged and destroyed by the blazes. Due to drought conditions, high temperatures and strong Santa Ana winds, firefighters, along with members of the US National Guard and Armed Forces, fought the fires until early November. Cotton was engaged by members of its Preferred Client Program to provide restoration services, including open-air deodorization, structure and content cleaning and decontamination and air quality monitoring at several hotels and retail outlets in the area. Concurrently, a property management company in the Houston metropolitan area also contracted with Cotton for restoration services after a fire caused severe damage at their corporate office.
Pete Bell, Cotton CEO, said, "The damage caused by fire can be devastating. Fast response and mobilization assures that recovery efforts begin immediately to minimize further damage. Cotton has the skill and manpower to quickly restore normal business operations saving our customers time and money. Rapid recovery is our customer's first priority. It is ours too."
Billy V. Ray, Jr., Charys' Chairman and CEO added, "Cotton's experience and track record are models for the industry. The Cotton team's rapid response and resource staging expertise allows us to provide the immediate support our customers deserve."
