      Aktueller Preis: $ 2,99

DEL Image Management System at RSNA 2007

Direct Radiography Acquisition System with DR Flat Panel Technology

Franklin Park, IL – November 26, 2007 -- Del Global Technologies Corp. ( OTCBB: DGTC ) ("Del Global" or "the Company") today announces the DEL Image Management System (DEL IMS) DR acquisition system for use in a broad range of radiographic studies. The system is designed to deliver outstanding image quality, image consistency and improve diagnostic workflow in the exam room and throughout the radiographic department.

The DEL IMS includes an industry-leading Trixell ® flat panel detector, an integrated operator console and complete generator integration. The Trixell Pixium 4600 DR panel converts x-ray energy into a digital image for more rapid review and diagnosis. The image can be stored and/or transmitted electronically as needed.

The digital radiography operator console is a single station that controls all imaging functions. Designed to expedite workflow for the technologist, the console integrates network and print connectivity, exam configuration, anatomical programming, exposure settings, image acquisition and storage.

According to M. Thomas Boon, Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing for the Medical Systems Group, “It is our intention to integrate the DEL IMS technology into our full range of radiographic systems including tables, wall stands, U-Arm positioners and generators so we can provide our customers with the digital systems that best meet their imaging requirements.”

The DEL IMS is DICOM 3.0 compliant including Print, Store and Modality Worklist. The system is currently in its first clinical implementation in a hospital outside Milan, Italy. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Del Medical Systems Group Launches New Apollo DRF at RSNA 2007

Multi-Functional R/F System Features Trixell ® Dynamic Flat Panel DR Technology

Franklin Park, IL – November 26, 2007 -- Del Global Technologies Corp. ( OTCBB: DGTC ) ("Del Global" or "the Company") today announces the Apollo DRF, a full-featured, multi-functional table with dynamic flat panel detector that produces full-field, high resolution imaging for a broad range of radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations.

The Apollo DRF’s flat panel detector is full size (43 x 43cm / 17” x17”), creating a substantially larger field of view, higher resolution and with no distortion when compared to a traditional image intensifier. The detector acquires dynamic sequences and fluoroscopy up to 30 frames per second for GI procedures or organ localization. To provide the best quality image for any examination, the Multi-Grid feature automatically selects from two grid choices and a non-grid selection for extremity exams.

The close integration of each function in the Apollo DRF system greatly reduces the number of steps required to complete a procedure. All imaging parameters are automatically set upon selection of the appropriate exam. The operator console sends the exposure values to the generator, selects the most appropriate look-up table for gray levels, sets the correct measuring zones of the ionization chamber and activates the detector with the optimal settings. Images are displayed instantly after the exposure and the technologist can immediately check the image quality, perform archiving and printing.

According to M. Thomas Boon, Vice President Global Sales and Marketing for the Del Medical Systems Group, “The Apollo DRF is a clearly unique and differentiated R/F system that provides the customer with a multi-functional x-ray suite, capable of delivering outstanding workflow across a broad range of examinations.”

Chest, extremity, peripheral vascular, urological and gynecological studies can all be performed with optimal image quality and minimal effort for the operator who can position the patient quickly and effortlessly from the system console.

The Apollo DRF’s system connectivity includes all standard DICOM 3.0 classes, such as Print, Store, Modality Worklist and MPPS for seamless integration into the PACS environment.

The Apollo DRF will be introduced in Q2 2008 with US FDA certification pending.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 32.612.456 von split66 am 29.11.07 13:17:53Das ist das Gerät für die kommenden 3 Jahre

      http://analogic.com/dr/default.html

Analogic is pioneering digital radiography at both the system and subsystem levels. Today, approximately two thirds of all images produced in a hospital are X-ray based, the majority on conventional, film-based analog X-ray systems. These systems are comparatively inexpensive to buy, but the "hidden" operating costs associated with them are substantial, in terms of labor (including clinician time), low patient throughput, and consumables. At this relatively early stage in their development, Digital Radiography systems are more expensive to acquire, but operational savings can relatively quickly compensate for higher initial cost. DR also offers tremendous clinical advantages, such as vastly superior dynamic range compared to film, and contrast resolution superior to that of Computed Radiography (CR). DR can simply provide better images while reducing patient exposure to radiation. Moreover, DR images can be digitally enhanced and manipulated by sophisticated software to extract considerably more information facilitating earlier detection, more accurate diagnoses and more effective treatment. Digital images also can easily be stored and retrieved almost instantly, enhancing clinicians' ability to review images or refer them to consulting physicians.

Analogic is pursuing DR from two perspectives. Five years ago the Company acquired proprietary selenium technology necessary for the development of direct digital radiography detector plates, and established its ANRAD subsidiary to develop and manufacture high-quality, flat panel X-ray detectors using the acquired selenium technology. Analogic focuses on "direct" digital radiography (DDR), in which X-ray photons are directly converted to electronic signals, producing images that are often much sharper and provide more information than older, indirect techniques.

Several years ago the Company began developing for an OEM customer complete direct digital radiography systems, including a chest unit, and a U-arm trauma unit capable of performing a full range of diagnostic procedures. Last year we began shipping a second generation of general digital radiography equipment to that customer, including an advanced chest unit and a highly versatile, multipurpose table system employing an overhead X-ray tube to perform a full range of exams.

In 2004 the Company established a new subsidiary, ANEXA, to market next-generation digital imaging solutions, including advanced digital radiography systems, to end users in select markets. The Company initially developed two systems for ANEXA's markets. These are a high-volume chest unit that can perform other upright examinations for ambulatory and non-ambulatory patients and an innovative, compact, highly versatile DR system for a full range of high-volume upright, table, and extremity general radiographic exams. Special application software from Cedara was incorporated, designed for the needs of community hospitals and niche sites such as emergency rooms, trauma centers, orthopedic clinics, and individual orthopedic practices. We are also developing advanced digital fluoroscopy systems for ANEXA, which we believe will bring the broad advantages of DR to more clinicians and patients at an affordable cost. Digital radiography presents substantial opportunities to improve clinical outcomes, speed clinical workflow, and reduce healthcare costs. With our considerable knowledge of X-ray technology, we believe DR should also provide opportunities for dynamic growth.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 32.612.767 von Kaltental am 29.11.07 13:40:05so weit ich verstanden habe gehet es hier um Digital Radiography ,die vorteile gegenüber Computed Radiography haben solte.:D

Digital radiography is a form of x-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. Also less radiation can be used to produce an image of similar contrast to conventional radiography.

      Dental
      Main article: Dental radiography
The radiological examinations in dentistry may be classified in: intraoral - where the film or the sensor is placed in the mouth, the purpose being to visualize a limited region and extraoral where the film or the sensor is outside the mouth and the purpose is to visualize a wide region. In dentistry, extraoral imaging splits in: Panoramic X-ray (aka "panorex" or "pano") showing a section, curved following more or less mandible shape, of the whole maxillo-facial block and the Cephalometric X-ray showing a projection, as parallel as possible, of the whole skull.

      [edit] Digital radiographic systems
One particular type of digital system uses a Memory Phosphor Plate (aka PSP - Phosphor Plate) in place of the film. After X-ray exposure the plate (sheet) is placed in a special scanner where the latent formed image is retrieved point by point and digitized, using a laser light scanning. The digitized images are stored and displayed on the computer screen. This method is half way between old film based technology and the current direct digital imaging technology. It is similar to the film process because it involves the same image support handling and differs because the chemical development process is replaced by the scanning process. This is not much faster that film processing and the resolution and sensitivity performances are contested. However it has the clear advantage to be able to fit with any pre-existing equipment without any modification because it replaces just the existing film.

Also some times the term "Digital X-rays" is used to designate the scanned film documents which further are handled by computers.

The other types of digital imaging technologies use electronic sensors. A majority of them first convert the X-rays in light (using a GdO2S or CsI layer) which is further captured using a CCD or a CMOS image sensor. Few of them use a hybrid arrangement which first convert the X-ray into electricity (using a CdTe layer) and then this electricity is captured as an image by a reading section based on CMOS technology

      Servus,

Del Global Technologies Reports Fiscal 2008 First Quarter Financial Results
      Q1 FY 2008 Highlights Versus Q1 FY 2007

Net sales up 38.5% to $26.7 million
Net income increased to $1.1 million
Diluted earnings per share of $0.04
Del Global Technologies Corp. (OTCBB: DGTC) (“Del Global” or “the Company”) today announced financial results for its fiscal 2008 first quarter ended October 27, 2007.

Consolidated net sales for the first quarter of fiscal 2008 rose 38.5% to $26.7 million from $19.3 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2007, due to higher sales at the Medical Systems Group. Net sales at the Medical Systems Group rose 44.9% to $24.1 million from the comparable prior year period, due to increased international sales and strong equipment sales to the dental market. Sales at the Power Conversion Group (“RFI”) during the first quarter of fiscal 2008 were $2.6 million, roughly equal to sales in the same period last year.

Consolidated gross margin improved to 24.1% of sales during the first quarter of fiscal 2008 from 20.8% of sales in the first quarter of fiscal 2007, due to the impact of higher sales volume and better plant utilization. Gross margin at the Medical Systems Group during the first quarter of fiscal 2008 rose to 22.7% from 19.0% in the prior year’s first quarter. Gross margin at RFI increased to 36.5% in the fiscal 2008 first quarter from 31.9% in the same fiscal 2007 first quarter.

Total operating expenses declined to 15.8% of net sales from 19.6% of net sales in the same period one year ago. Selling, general and administrative expenses for the first quarter of fiscal 2008 declined as a percentage of net sales to 14.0% from 17.3% of net sales in the prior year’s first quarter, the result of higher sales and operating efficiencies derived from an improved cost structure. Research and development expenses in the first quarter of fiscal 2008 rose by approximately $0.1 million, reflecting Del Global’s continued investment in new product development.

Operating income for the first quarter of fiscal 2008 rose more than 9-fold to $2.2 million from $0.2 million in the comparable period last year. Operating income at the Medical Systems Group rose to $2.2 million from $0.6 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2007. RFI generated operating income of $0.4 million as compared to $0.3 million in the same period one year ago. Unallocated corporate expenses for the first quarter of fiscal 2008 totaled $0.4 million as compared to $0.7 million in the same period last year.

Net income in the first quarter of fiscal 2008 improved by $1.6 million to $1.1 million, or $0.04 per diluted share, from a net loss of $0.5 million, or $0.04 per diluted share. For the first quarter of fiscal 2008, there were approximately 24.7 million weighted average common shares outstanding (“shares outstanding”) as compared to 11.6 million shares outstanding in the first quarter of fiscal 2007. The increase in shares outstanding was due primarily to the impact of shares issued in connection with Del Global’s Rights Offering, which was completed on March 12, 2007. The Company sold approximately 12.0 million shares of its common stock at $1.05 per share, generating total net proceeds of $12.4 million.

Consolidated backlog at October 27, 2007 was $25.7 million as compared to $28.4 million at July 28, 2007. Backlog at the Medical Systems Group decreased $2.4 million due to a decline in international bookings, the result of the winding down of a long-term contract with an international customer and, to a lesser extent, seasonality in Europe. Backlog at RFI declined $0.3 million to $6.3 million from levels at the beginning of the fiscal year. Substantially all of the backlog should result in shipments within the next 12 to 15 months.

      FINANCIAL CONDITION

Del Global’s balance sheet at October 27, 2007 reflected working capital of $26.7 million, which included $5.9 million of cash and cash equivalents. As of October 27, 2007, Del Global did not have any outstanding borrowings under its U.S. or Italian revolving credit facilities. In the aggregate, Del Global had approximately $20.6 million of borrowing availability under its domestic and Italian revolving credit facilities.

      COMMENTS

James A. Risher, Del Global’s President and Chief Executive Officer commented, “We are very pleased with our operating results for the first quarter, and continue to believe that we are making the necessary investments in our relationships, product portfolio, and operating infrastructure to facilitate continued progress in 2008. We are excited about our recently announced new products that were on display at the RSNA Conference in Chicago last week. The Del Image Management System and the Apollo DRF multi-functional R/F systems were the product highlights of our booth. We also announced our supply agreement with Analogic to sell two new digital systems. We expect to continue to introduce a variety of new products throughout 2008. We recognize, however, that 2008 could be a challenging year as an anticipated deceleration in overall U.S. economic growth combines with new domestic healthcare policies that could adversely affect purchasing behavior. Still, our financial position is strong, and we believe that we have ample liquidity to pursue our strategic growth initiatives, which includes strategic acquisitions.”
