HowStuffWorks Eyes on Chinese Market

HSW International, Inc.(Nasdaq: HSWI) signed a strategic cooperation letter of intent with China Yahoo on the development of HowStuffWorks, Inc. (www.HowStuffWorks.com) in the Chinese market currently, according to a person familiar with the deal.
China Yahoo will become the exclusive cooperative portal of HowStuffWorks in China. It will be authorized to operate the Chinese version of the information and content and will provide localized support for the latter's online products in China.
The two sides have started cooperative projects and the detail of the cooperation will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2008, added the person.
HowStuffWorks, Inc. operates a user-oriented encyclopedia website www.HowStuffWorks.com, which provides users with explanation about how various devices work. It has 11 million unique visitors around the world. It was acquired by Discovery Communications Inc., world's largest nonfiction media company, in October 2007.
HSW International is entitled to launch the websites in local languages in Brazil and China.
China Yahoo is a subsidiary of Alibaba Group - China's largest e-commerce company.

Meine Recherche ergab, dass diese News keine offizielle Unternehmensnachricht war. Sie wurde von dem kostenpflichtigen China-Newsportal SinoCast recherchiert und veröffentlicht und erschien lediglich auf zwei weiteren Online News-Portalen.
...es stellt sich nun sowieso die Frage ob es die HSWI oder den verkauften Teilbereich darstellt. Die richtige Interpretation wird m.E. deutlich schwieriger und unklarer.
