Canaccord Genuity has kicked off a $32.3 million equity raising for lithium play Orocobre Ltd, calling for bids by 1pm on Friday.
Orocbore shares went into a trading halt on Thursday morning as the broker sought investor support for the share placement.
The broker was seeking to sell 17 million shares at $1.90 each. The deal was priced at a 9.5 per cent discount to the last close of $2.10 and a 24.1 per cent discount to the 30-day volume weighted average price.
Funds would be put towards the Olaroz joint venture company, Sales de Jujuy SA, where Orocobre is required to contribute 75 per cent of the project funding, according to a termsheet sent to potential investors.
The offer comes only four months after Canaccord also handled a $50 million placement and share purchase plan for Orocobre.
Orocobre is expected to announce the placement and resume trading on Monday.
